Before moving too far into Season two.. time for a final look back at the order of season one episodes..

Moving on now to the order of episodes 14 to 21-which I think should be 22!
Lee in season one is very up and down with his attitude towards Amanda, and I think there is no way to completely fix that – BB has been quoted as saying they were still trying to figure out the Lee Stetson character in season one.. so it kind of makes sense..and add to the mix SMK’s love for continuity ( errr sometimes not!! 
) but I will give my interpretation of the episode order and have a go!
Decide for yourself – this is only for fun and I would love to hear if you agree, disagree or are confused… I think this kind of thing is always easier if it is a collaboration.. as no one person can think of everything! ( least of all me!! ) so let me know if you have anything to add:
After Lost and Found (13th) we have the Lee side part episodes- so we know these episodes are together 
Hold on to your hats, this gets a little complicated!! 
I would place the Artful Dodger as 14th- I have already (at length!) discussed my reasons why I would put it before The Mole and Savior here:

In that post I write in much more detail that I 
believe Lee’s views on Amanda and men and treatment of her in the Artful Dodger works better if before The Mole- Also, Amanda’s reaction to Lee’s condescending attitude and Amanda’s behaviour with men works better if before The Mole also.. but see the post for details..the post also 
compares Lee’s ‘apologies’ to Amanda at the end of both Dead Ringer, and The Artful Dodger.. Again, the Artful Dodger works better first IMO.. Lastly, the 
post also compares Lee’s jealousy levels in The Artful Dodger and The Mole.. again, The Artful Dodger IMO works better first..
I would prefer The Artful Dodger is not immediately after Lost and Found- but…I couldn’t put it before, and I couldn’t put it any later- Lee has his side part – so I choose to see this episode as the writer’s big ‘pull back’ episode in Lee and Amanda’s closeness- plus Lee is pretty awful to everyone in it maybe he is licking his wounds from Eva!
I think The Mole must go before Savior as Blue 
Leader is introduced in that ep.. but the two episodes do go together. Blue Leader is again mentioned in Savior.. and after that- never again! The Mole and Savior 
also go together for me because of the underlying themes of friendship which are strong in both episodes.. it really works well together..
Plus Savior introduces Mrs Marsden and the 
whole password concept.. so that helps determine the order.. (Plus the ‘International FilmFed’ sign which we see randomly thereafter…)
Filming Raul has Mrs Marsden back.. but 
Amanda tries to get away without saying the password, so Filming Raul is after the Mole, Savior and Artful Dodger..
In Dead Ringer, Dotty is suspicious of Amanda 
going out to a party for an hour and is upset Amanda won’t tell her what she is up to.. she comes up with lots of theories.. one being an affair with Bud Marcher! 
But! In Savior, Dotty has already heard Amanda can’t talk about what she is up to.. and tells her it is fine she doesn’t have to tell her – (as Amanda rushes off to deliver the bomb leaving Dotty with the groceries)
Dotty: ‘ Don’t ask. I know’ – so I think Savior comes after Dead Ringer..So I have:
Artful Dodger
Dead Ringer
The Mole
Savior
Next I would put Filming Raul. I wouldn’t put it any earlier.. Dotty still suspects Amanda of 
having an affair..(but doesn’t expect Amanda to tell her about it, she only warns her ) and Amanda is beginning to get frustrated at how she is being held back from doing jobs at the agency because she is not a trained agent.
In her frustration at this, and then at Lee’s not seeing Amanda as ‘the type’ – we see a moment 
of craziness where Amanda is very provocative with Lee in the car.. she wonders.. hmm what if??… and they are both shaken by it and it is not mentioned again..
Also, Fred Fielder’s last mention is in Filming Raul (Scotty mentions his car parking), and I probably wouldn’t place that too late in the season either..
Next, was Weekend. I found weekend hard to place – as we don’t see Billy’s office at all and it is a very unusual away from normal kind of episode.. we don’t even see Lee’s porsche the whole episode! I chose to put it here, mainly because of how it fits with the other episodes. 
Weekend deals with Amanda’s crush on Lee IMO (looking at the big picture) by the end of the episode, I feel she has dealt with her attraction to him, put her crush away and has decided nothing is ever going to happen like that with Lee.. (YMMV I know people see this episode differently to me.. )
After Weekend, I can’t see any evidence of Amanda’s full on ‘crush’ – ( sure she still has some feelings for him-don’t read this as me not thinking she likes him anymore – but for now I think she has relegated him to the ‘sadly only my friend and colleague’ role).
Next I would say is Waiting for Godorsky and then Fearless Dotty – Greyfool (thanks 
Grey!) mentioned on the forum Dotty’s disastrous lesson at the end of 
Waiting for Godorsky, and then Dotty’s reference in Fearless Dotty of maybe taking a lesson again one day.. and it fits IMO! Because also, Amanda 
wears the white trousers outfit in Waiting for Godorsky which in Fearless Dotty gets 
ruined by her mugging and Amanda says they are ruined.. (ok she also says they are new, but not brand new.. so I figured one episode before is still new – this is just IMHO! ) Also, in both these episodes, Lee compliments Amanda’s work – firstly with the car door taking out the assassin, and then with the water hose taking out the baddie in the blue van (in Hazard County – 😆 and if you don’t get that joke.. go look it up HAA!)
Waiting for Godorsky had Amanda’s last instance of fumbling passwords with Mrs Marsden – ( Mrs Marsden has been told to just let Amanda in in future) and Fearless Dotty credits the actress who plays Mrs Marsden as being in the episode, when she is not.. I am guessing here that after Waiting for Godorsky that scene was cut..
Lastly, in Season One we have Charity Begins at Home.. (this is also last in the production order – which while not 100% accurate can give 
us clues) –The destruction of Lee’s porsche.. and other special touches I mentioned in the final post on that episode mean I think it was originally intended as the season closer.
For whatever reason, it was put off till some of the europe episodes had aired in season two. And a replacement, similar car was used for filming in Double Agent ( episode 3 in season 2)- why? maybe they didn’t want to open the season with it.. the overseas episodes would have been more exciting to publicise in the lead up to season two maybe.
I suspect when Waiting for Godorsky became the 
new season ender they added the medal ceremony at the end.. it feels a bit added on to me.. a bit over the top.. but.. YMMV!

I am sorry this post is probably hard to follow.. but often there is no one reason for why I put an episode in that position.. and it is about how they fit together. which equals – complicated!
I think they moved around the order sometimes because there was a break in the airing schedule ( eg. weekend was shown after nearly a month’s break)- a strong episode to publicise coming back to see the show again!! The Mole was shown the day before valentine’s day..So, I think they fiddled a little with the order for reasons like that.. but again, it is just a theory I have! They did the same thing with A little sex, a little scandal(which is another one that is out of order because Amanda’s hair is short and then long again the next episode- LOL!) after a 3 week break in season 2 – they go for the heavy relationship episodes first episode back.. To Catch a mongoose would have been an exciting season 2 opener too don’t you think?!..
This post in itself is a bit of a summary of Season one! However, if anyone would like to put together a summary- I would be open to publishing it on my blog.. if you wanted to do a tally of injuries or who rescues who.. A summary of your ideas about the progression of the Lee and Amanda relationship.. etc…or if you have an idea that interests you –and you would like to have a go and have some fun with it and let me know
I won’t be doing another post on Season one.. and am now moving on to Season two!!
If there is any reason you can think of why the order I have proposed is not possible.. please let me know- I would be happy to refine this order in collaboration with others! Love to hear your thoughts!!
*Edited to swap Remembrance of things past and I am not now…I couldn’t go past Cindy’s rationale here- that it didn’t help Lee’s cause in I am not now – for him to turn up at Amanda’s to convince her she knows him, only to have him say he has never been in her house before! (and that script was after all only a first draft! ) so I will go with it.. can’t see a reason not to! Thanks so much for your input Cindy! – See comments of this post for Cindy’s contribution 🙂

I don’t know about the chronology part other than if it weren’t for the Dean question I would put Artful Dodger right after Lee and Amanda first meet since he’s so hostile towards her. (Actually I think they should have used this storyline for Dean’s exit — not that he picked Amanda up specifically but he figures out her job and uses it to his advantage!)
But the way I’ve finally been able to reconcile this ep is after reading a couple of fanfics that suggest Lee’s issues here may have also stemmed from his lingering fears about Amanda’s safety. And it does have something in common with the other episode with their largest argument — both contain cases with the two issues that push Lee’s buttons the most: Agent/Agency safety and Amanda’s safety.
And this time around, it’s like she missed what he thinks should have been obvious red flags and that scares him even more. (I feel like she comes across as not at her best either — that whole concubine ring thing makes her seem pretty dense and clueless for the Amanda King we know.)
He always seems in a testier mood when those things go together. It still doesn’t excuse his behavior but it makes it easier for me to stomach watching the episode now because there’s a bit of logic then and not coming out of nowhere.

Hey all! I am watching through Season 1 in this revised order and have just finished Saved By the Bells. I plan to go back through the walk posts and comment on some episode moments, but I have to say that this revised episode order is silky smooth so far and makes SO MUCH SENSE! Thanks to everyone who put research and input into this list. I had been trying to distance myself from watching too much of Season 1 because I wanted to go through this order with refreshed eyes. And I love it!!!

I am not sure exactly where it is, but it in one of the episodes (maybe Artful Dodger?) where Lee is being extra cranky and worse than a 3 year old throwing a temper tantrum and I asked who peed in his cornflakes that morning (well, the actual word isn’t peed…..)

Hey iwsod, finally made it through S1 in your order – and I like what you’ve done! In general I think your order make S1 much smoother – no hot and cold Lee as Cindy said in another post. I’m an engineer by training and like things logical and linear. Your rearranging makes L&A’s initial relationship much easier to follow and it makes Dean’s existence and then non-existence understandable. That whole ‘Artfunkle’ Dodger episode is a train wreck no matter where you try to put it. I like blaming Lester the Duck for it or thinking it was Lee’s doppelganger….maybe when this walk is over you could write a fanfic about it! ha!
Little bits of the post and some of the comments were hard for me to wrap my head around – perhaps because I read all 3 episode order posts and then had to read the 5 Dodger posts tonight to make sure I didn’t miss anything before commenting here. And it is 11:30pm my time right now and I’m getting very sleepy….but all in all I definitely approve of your new order! The only question I have now is, the next time I watch through S1 do I watch them in your order or the way they were aired? And as my 10 year old daughter is discovering SMK now, what should I have her do? 🙂

I hope I didn’t ruin cornflakes for you! 😀 I would suggest watching season 1 in the revised order. My girls (now 14 and 9) watched season one in airing order and the older one agreed the revised order made more sense. We watched season 2 and 3 in a revised order (there were suggestions on yuku forum and petralit’s site) and it was much more enjoyable. Season 4 we haven’t watched yet, despite pretty obvious hints, I did not get it for valentine’s day 😦 (but my friend lent me the entire series of Bablyon 5, so I am working my way through that)

No S4 for you?? Oh, that’s not good! If I had them I’d lend them to you, but I’ve only got S1 – at least until the go off Prime. I’ve not watched B5, would you recommend? SMK is by far my favorite thing that I’ve seen BB in.
I’ll have to check out Petralit’s S2 and S3 order and see if I can find it on the yuku forum. And of course I’m curious to see what iwsod thinks when we get there on this blog. Thanks for the tips!

Sorry, I missed your question about B5.
I’m really enjoying it, BB’s character of John Sheridan is very different from Lee Stetson (which reinforces that he really is a very good actor. Even Sheridan’s mannerisms are different!).
I am three quarters through season 2, (BB joined at the beginning of this season). Season 1 was slow to start but really picked up. A lot of the story lines reminded me of what happened with the rise of the Tea Party in the States and the immigration issues in Arizona. Funny/depressing how a show 20 years old set 200 years into the future has so much to say about the present.
The episodes are mostly self contained but have threads than span through multiple episodes/seasons. There have been a few episodes I think that have been aired out of order which has been frustrating for the relationship arc, but not nearly as bad as SMK. No magic hairdos so far!
It does reinforce the insane chemistry that Bruce and Kate have.

Thanks for sharing about B5. I’d really like to see it, but not at $40 a season! I think I’ll check the public library here, maybe they’ll have it for check out.
I’ve not been super impressed with the few other BB things I’ve seen, but then again I don’t think I’ve seen anything very good overall. I remember watching Passion Flower when it aired originally in the 80’s but didn’t really like it too much because it was when SMK was airing and I couldn’t fully separate the two. I’m thinking B5 is another one of his better performances because it is so well liked and ran for many seasons plus had movies.
I’ve never seen all of Tron and haven’t seen any of the sequel. They look interesting though and will watch them sometime!

I do the same, BB is only Lee Stetson. I don’t want to know anything else. Sometimes I like an actor, but sometimes I like the character and I like Lee, sorry Bruce.

Ahhh TRON/Alan. Very, very different characters for sure. I had seen TRON in the theater and didn’t realize BB was in it until much later when it aired as a late night TV movie. My mother claimed I gave her a heart attack because I shrieked so loudly. My daughters had a similar reaction they saw it.

I blamed Lee’s behavior in Artful Dodger on what happened in Lost and Found. Some one mentioned the other day how they hated watching Lee get betrayed both personally and professionally in Lost and Found. (I am sorry I think it was Cindy or bjop1). I wonder if his confidence isn’t shaken and he is responding with brovado here. I think Lee also saw Amanda as a bit of a paragon of vitrue esp after the betrayl of Eva and how Amanda stood by him as a friend during that. And here she was taken in, I wonder if that didn’t make Lee angry at different levels. And Amanda maybe a bit off kilter because this is one of the first episodes after beginning her “no Dean” period and even though she may not have been really into Dean I think he may have served as a buffer for her in her atraction to Lee. Thinking these thoughts helped me when I watched that troublesome episode.

Thank- you thank-you! I agree with your order — except I would switch Remembrance and IANNNHIEB…AS . I am very enchanted with the idea that the first time he crossed the threshold of her home he was ‘dead’, if I remember the script properly of IANN…. there were major rewrites from the draft and what was filmed (airplane vs. sports store, etc, scene of ’emotionally complicated’ was missing) , so I am going to put my head in the sand and ignore the line “first time I’ve been inside your house.” La La La La La! Besides, even though Lee can be superdense (let’s say a certain black dress form season three), I just can’t see him crossing the threshold uninvited with an amnesiatic Amanda unless he’s been there before. YMMV. Whatever the reason, I am glad they removed that line because it wouldn’t help your case that you actually know the woman quite well and then admit it’s the first time you’ve been in her house.

Hmmm! You have given me food for thought Cindy! I especially like your last reasoning – about it not helping Lee’s case if he says he has never been in her house before.. that’s true!
What does everyone else think? I’ll go back and have a look, but if I can’t find a reason not to , I’ll go with your suggestion – I like it! 🙂
