We made it!! continuing on immediately after the previous post.. we have Lee and Amanda in..*drum roll* the touching scene!!! whoo hooo!
Amanda: I think it was Lady Bromfield.
Lee: Lady Bromfield? No, she’s not strong enough to put the pike through the hedge. [ good point Lee.. yes,that pun is intended 
]
Amanda: well no I don’t think she actually did it. But 
I think she’s behind it. I just don’t trust her. [Amanda doesn’t trust a woman who doesn’t love her husband.. Hmm this came in handy in Lost and Found! ]
Lee: I don’t know what makes me ask this, but why don’t you trust her?
[ I love this line of Lee’s!!! considering the context and the little conflict they were having earlier in this scene about ‘window dressing’ – this line is perfect!!- SMK writers have done a beautiful job here.. they always do great when it comes to Lee and Amanda! –I think it says a lot for where Lee is at in this episode, in how he sees Amanda and her role in his work.. He doesn’t know why he is asking – BUT he is asking!!!!!!! and.. he is wondering why he is asking!!!! Genius!]
Amanda: It’s a feeling. [ LOL! It is more than that! ] Lee: Ohhh that solid huh..
Amanda: Mmmhmm. I don’t think she loves her husband.
Lee: Amanda she’s been married to him for 12 years. Stood by him through this whole scandal. [Lee lecturing Amanda about marriage? that’s too funny.. I think Amanda well and truly knows that the magic can wear off in a marriage sometimes and why is Lee saying Lady B stood by Lord B in ‘this whole scandal’ like that is a big thing? when with Amanda he has downplayed the scandal’s significance?! What a gorgeous smile he gives here though ]
Amanda: that’s very nice… ( I love how she says that line!).. but I don’t think she loves him.
[ A revisiting of this concept from Lost and Found.. Amanda said exactly the same thing about Eva! That there was no magic in her eyes when she looked at Angelo.. and Amanda was right!! ]
Lee: Amanda, No.
Amanda: Lee. [watch and learn Lee!] There’s just something about the way that she looks at him. There’s nothing in her face when she looks at him…
She just doesn’t look like she loves him.
Lee isn’t convinced..but he’s not arguing!
Amanda continues: There’s nothing in her eyes.
Lee gives Amanda a quick sideways glance.
Amanda is on a roll her speed of talking moves up a notch here!
Amanda continues: And they never touch each other, have you ever seen them hold hands?…
…Or have you ever seen him put his arm around her?
[ she motions with her arm someone putting their arm around someone.. I think she is excited.. Lee isn’t cutting off her thoughts here, he is just quietly listening..]
I had never noticed this before! At this moment.. Lee opens his mouth as if to say something.. he shrugs.. and motions with his hands like ‘I don’t know’ but doesn’t end up saying anything and he lets Amanda continue..Lee is pretty perplexed about this love stuff haaaa..
Amanda continues: Or she.. er and [I think KJ flubs her line here but.. it works great! She recovers and keeps going! I would love to read the script and see if some of this dialogue is ad libbed.. but no script! ]
You know, people who care about each other they…
At this, she reaches out to grab both his hands with both of her hands and looks down at their hands
Lee remains silent, and looks down at their joined hands 
… they wanna be close to each other… [Amanda stills, realising what she is doing and begins draw back]
and they.. uhhhh.. [Amanda looks up..]
Here the music kicks in, and the scene cuts to a shot on Lee.. He is looking down at their hands..
then he glances up at Amanda with a ‘Whaaaa??!!! arghhh!!!’ look of fear on his face at what could be going on here!
and then back down to their hands.
If Amanda saw that look on his face, it would be clear to her he is terrified she might have feelings for him!! All the more motivation for Amanda to squash any thought of falling in love with this man waaaay down!
Amanda looks back up at him. [What have I done???!!!]
Amanda has stilled and realised what she is doing. [Ohhh nooooo!!!! don’t tell me he’s thinking I meant something by that???!!! Ohhh Nooo!!!! ]
She looks seriously at Lee, then gives a quiet little smile and shrug.
I don’t see Amanda panicking here.. but she can see this is electric! and awkward!! She lets go, looks away, then quickly glances back to Lee and finishes stating emphatically: She doesn’t touch him.
[Hooray for Amanda! she remembered her train of thought – she is a woman with a strong consitution!! and I think this shows she is not completely thrown into a tizz by what just happened..]
She looks out over the Thames again, and Lee looks at Amanda..
LOL.. and licks his lips
He smiles to himself and looks around- maybe laughing at how ‘Ridiculous’ this is? haaaawhahahaaaa!!
I will expand on what I think is going on below.. but in this moment, IMO, he is laughing to give the impression he isn’t affected, and maybe he also laughs that he thought Amanda 
meant something by all this for a second!.. but he realises she didn’t because of how she lets go and looks away.. and.. she didn’t want it to look that way! She’s not looking to start anything here!!
Neither of them know what to say.. yep.. nothing either of you say can fix this one tee hee!
Amanda: ahh ahh ahh no we-
Lee: No, you know you you you.. uh. [ Lee looks down]
…errr you have some fascinating theories. [I’d like to hear Lee’s theories that are tossing around his head in this moment.. wouldn’t you? )
Amanda: well, they’re.. [ Amanda gives a funny look here.. LOL maybe she’s thinking her ideas are not always 100% accurate..because we were touching and I don’t love you! ]
Amanda doesn’t hide caring about Lee.. and she was talking about caring for someone when she reached out to him.. So in a way, Amanda doesn’t have as much to hide as Lee does! ]
Amanda takes a gulp, smiles and says as she looks out 
over the Thames: Well, we can stay here all day or we can go back.
Lee is all smiles: haaa yeah!
[ He is trying to sound light hearted here.. LOL why am I reminded of how he laughed after their near kiss in the car in Filming Raul?! when in reality- he was terrified??!! Another reminder of that scene in this episode!! ]
Lee laughs and looks to the side.. and we see here – Amanda licks her lips!!! Wahahahahhaaa!! [See below for how I interpret all this!! Looking forward to hearing what YOU think!!! 🙂 ]
Lee looks up and continues: haaaa we better go – come on..
He puts his arm out to encourage Amanda to move on.. and then – LOL! He puts his arm around her – toooooo funny!!!! It is so natural he doesn’t realise he is doing it!!! Even after the conversation they just had!!
We see them walk off together.. only Amanda shrugs out of Lee’s arm.. whwhahahaahaaaaaa that is toooo funny!!! You’re touching me don’t touch me!! We don’t love each other!!!!
[and doesn’t this send a message to Lee: she doesn’t want you like that! ] Lee realises and puts his hand behind his back.. tee heee..
What a fabulous scene this is.. ok I have been a bit grumpy about this episode.. but this scene saves it for me.. (well this scene and the tuxedo!! ) Soooo come on everyone!! how do you see this scene unfolding?? Do tell!!
I will now add to my comments I’ve already made interspersed with the dialogue, but it is by no means the only take or the right take.. it’s just my take! How you view this scene is going to vary greatly, depending on if you view this episode after Brunettes are In or before.. or if you think by this episode that Amanda is in love with Lee or that Lee is in love with Amanda, or even how you would define ‘love’ or being ‘in love’ – our experiences of this scene are probably vast!
I think this scene is full of delicious irony.. here are two people discussing how to recognise whether someone is in love or not – when they themselves are beginning to fall in love with each other – and neither of them can see it! 😆 The hands.. the physical awareness.. the lip licking.. the awkwardness! it’s all there.. for a moment they wonder.. but then they both immediately deny it, refusing to see what could be going on between them! Lots of fun to watch!!
For me, I don’t see Amanda as loving Lee yet [but she is definitely on the path towards it! I would love to hear your take on all this!!! Come on Everyone! ] Amanda is not afraid to demonstrate to Lee that she cares for him remember her fearce protectiveness in The first time? it has been there from the start this loyalty she has for him(and not just when he is in danger! Remember she wanted to help him know he had options in Savior?? ).. He is her friend and she would be upset if something happened to him!
It could be seen that Amanda reaching out to grab Lee’s hands is her unconscious love for him.. revealing itself. That is very romantic.. but.. I don’t see it that way! I think Amanda was caught up in what she was saying to him, demonstrated caring- Amanda admits to the caring! So it doesn’t necessarily reveal she is in love with him.
Amanda stops short because she sees how Lee is reacting to what she is doing.. and she responds to that.. I don’t think she is responding to her reaching out and grabbing his hands- but I am guessing opinions will vary here. I think Amanda has given up any fantasies she had about Lee.. and is at the point where she only occasionally has to remind herself of this and she seems determined not to lose control over her heart where this man is concerned.. [Let’s face it, it took a determined woman to hold back as long as Amanda does!! ] I don’t think she is thinking there is the remotest chance of anything happening with Lee in the romance department, though she enjoys the work she does with him, and Lee as a friend.
I think this flows on from one of the themes of this episode – that things sometimes are misunderstood to be something other than what they are.. Amanda and Lord B are not having an affair, Lee didn’t kill Compson, and Amanda didn’t just make a pass at Lee or declare her feelings. I think Amanda is worried her response to Lee here will be interpreted as something which it isn’t – Love..
When Lee reacts, thinking she might mean something here – I think she is taken by surprise that Lee would think that of her ( I’d say he is taken by surprise with that too! ‘Ridiculous’! ) and for a just a second it makes her wonder – is there something here after all?? As she licks her lips towards the end of the scene.. By the end of the scene though, Amanda has put this idea out of her mind.. demonstrated by her suggestion to get going back to Bromfield Hall, and her shrugging off of his arm around her!
Underneath it all – there is a physical awareness between the two of them which – just like the issue of Amanda being Lee’s window dressing (when she is really his partner!) – they are nowhere near ready to deal with this..
Maybe this adds to Lee’s flash of terror! he notices his response to Amanda.. Which only adds to the awkwardness here.. My take on Lee is – he avoids admitting he cares about Amanda.. or that he is attracted to her – to both himself and to anyone else! He also is not comfortable (comfortable in the sense of being use to it) with Amanda’s demonstrating she cares for him – though he secretly enjoys it IMHO sometimes.
While Amanda is talking about touching, caring and love.. Lee freaks out!!! What’s happening here?? She doesn’t! she isn’t telling me what I think she is telling me??!!! Is she?! I swear, BB does a fantastic job of showing terror on Lee’s face – for just a second.. he covers it very quickly.. Lee isn’t comfortable dealing with feelings, emotions.. and this is all very confusing to him.. and here he was focusing on getting his job done – being the target of an assassin? he can cope with that.. bring it on!!!! but.. confronting any growing feelings he may have for Amanda? or which she could have for him? Whoa!! Get me out of here!!!
Maybe part of Lee’s reaction is tied to what he said earlier to Amanda ‘All you have to do is look to know it’s ridiculous’ – and yet.. here is Amanda holding his hands, causing him to feel an attraction to her ! No no no!! well that really is ridiculous. Amanda?!! I think it is partly tied into that idea I’ve been tossing around in my head – about how Lee is fighting seeing Amanda as a desirable woman, and as a woman with desires!
Sooooo – what’s your take on what’s going on?? I hope I’ve clearly conveyed my thoughts.. Where Amanda is at, where Amanda thinks Lee is at.. Where Lee is at, and where Lee thinks Amanda is at.. and Where Lee is really at ROFL!! [At least this is my thinking at the moment.. you never know ]
Ah nearly forgot! I found a boo boo in this scene.. I’ve only seen it a hundred times.. but given the content it is understandable this didn’t get noticed till now! When Lee says ‘ well you have some fascinating theories’ and it cuts back to Amanda, Amanda has her elbow up on the ledge there.. and you can see her microphone inside her jacket with the black cord and everything! tee heee.
It’s actually pretty obvious because it’s black and she’s wearing all white!!! I was so absorbed in Lee and Amanda – I didn’t notice!
This scene makes this episode.. a stand out moment!!! Soo what do you all think? Like to share your thoughts?

I just watched this episode for the first time today. You’re right: this is a standout moment. I don’t think that they’re in love yet but they are slowly seeing that there is a lot of caring between them. I love this scene. (Also, does anybody else find that Pridemore looks a bit like Patrick Duffy?)

Since i am rewatching S2..not my fav season,though..i thought i’d watch all my favourites of S2 and this is one of mine😊😊i love this,mainly becoz Lee and Amanda go thru many shades emotionally and professionally. So,let me tell you what i feel abt THEIR emotional shades before i get to their professional shade.
Discussing abt LOVE is something that both of them prefer to avoid…and when Amanda unknowingly talked abt Lady Gywn..and LOVE and MAGIC..Lee is taken aback,infact both of them are. But i feel for different reasons😊Lee knows that he is going thru all these emtional stir-ups abt Amanda and to hear Amanda say it out loud abt TOUCHING and LOVE and CARING just seems like a slap of reality on his face. He also must have realised that Amanda,too,must be having these confusing feelings too.
Amanda,on the other hand,must have been equally shocked at what she was saying coz unlike in WEEKEND where she had been pushing his hands away..she too has gotten really comfortable by his touches…all the PDA. But Amanda is more in control of the situation and tries to go back to avoid his touches😂
Professionally,Lee is letting his feelings for Amanda get in the way..He rather have her windowdressing than be with him and in danger and he would do or say anything to keep her away…
However,for Amanda,her frustrations are justified coz everytime she wants to help,be his sidekick😊to learn..she just gets pushed into doing something totally irrelevant🙄
I guess you can say we get to know the answers in the next episode😊😊

IMHO, in this moment of hand holding when the spark hits, I think Lee is feeling something very deep that he has blocked in all other relationships. This hand holding is tender and the feelings are true. Even if the feelings are not deep at this point, there is truth to them and this comes as a shock. He likes it!!!!!
Remember S1E2 when he tells Francine to not underestimate the stamina and (?) of the … housewife? I think he suddenly realizes that he has been underestimating his housewife partner. Can you imagine how perplexed he is?
I agree with others that thoughts of him being a bad boy so she deserves better and with two boys and a mortgage, but probably at the same time. Whoa, overload. Poor boy. His bad boy loner attitude has likely been a shield that he thought was protecting him from the vulnerability and responsibility of love. Haha, guess this moment put a crack in his steel.

I so wish I had found you all when this discussion was fresh, but I’ll add my thoughts anyway since your invitation is still open at the bottom of the post, iswod. I think that Amanda knows and has known for a long time that she COULD very easily love Lee but that she has no interest in the sort of relationships he has with women. She will not let herself become one of his long line of lady friends, and so anytime he shows any sign of being physically affected by her, she backpedals dramatically and even refuses his touch (Weekend comes to mind) because she never wants to communicate THAT KIND of interest to him. She’s fine with all his touches as shows of caring and friendship, but up to this point, she draws the line at anything romantic or sexual. It will take something pretty dramatic (or several somethings) to convince her that he is interested in the kind of relationship she would consider. I think that’s why Leslie is so important to their story arc, as much as I dislike that part, because it shows that Lee is thinking of relationships in a whole new way.
Lee, on the other hand, can’t stand the thought of anyone having a “fling” with Amanda, himself included, because of the pedestal he keeps her on. So all the feelings he feels for her have to be stuffed/ignored/rejected because he still sees himself as a playboy and she deserves better than that. It’s not until he deals with his past and accepts his own worth and ability to love and be loved that Amanda can even be an option for him.
Does that make any sense?

Also, my husband, who has not watched any of the show but wanders through while the kids and I are watching periodically, walked by during this scene and said “Why can’t those two just admit they love each other?!” LOL

So many feelings! These two, sheesh!
I’m of the opinion that they do care deeply and, yes, love each other by now, but they are in denial and doing everything in their personal arsenals to push back or run from those feelings. Any time any suggestion of something more between them than business…even LB’s suggestion of giving an impression that there is something more between them within the confines of their cover…they both jump immediately to denial. It’s Ridiculous! Right. Mmmmhmmmm…as we’ll say later “Not exactly.” Amanda is much more able to draw a distinction of being able to care about someone without it being love, but Lee isn’t able to do that At. All. He’s so emotionally stunted and Amanda knows it. She can’t leave the impression that she’s talking about the two of them caring for one another. She at least subconsciously knows Lee can’t deal with it (yet) so she’s trying to protect him from having to wrestle with it as much as she’s trying to protect herself.

I think Lee and Amanda are equally affected by Amanda’s words and demonstration. She unintentionally make Lee aware of how much he touches her, which is quite a lot! Does he recognize that he is revealing something subconsciously as much as she is? It seems to me that amid the electricity emanating between them when she take his hands, the awareness Amanda’s words brings to her actions, and the undercurrent of beginnings of strong feelings, they both react as if they were on fire and back away rapidly. The funniest part is when they leave he automatically puts his hand on her back because he likes to touch her and feel connected and she does that funny little dance away from his gesture! Hah! I relish and revel in the nuances of this scene, over and over again. Take that, rewind button!

Hit the nail on the head. I hadn’t thought of it that way before but now it’s seems obvious. Lee is not only aware of Amanda touching him but probably now is very conscious of how much he touches her. I can just imagine all the jumbled thoughts he is having with that look of pure terror. Whoa she is touching me when she talks about love, does she have feelings for me? I touch her all the time, she doesn’t think that means I have feeling for her does she? I don’t have feelings for her do I? I said in an earlier post on this episode that Lee doesn’t see Amanda as his type but it’s interesting that he is always initiating physical contact between them which I wouldn’t go as far as to say is sign of loving someone but it is a sign of wanting someone. But he doesn’t want to think about that. He wants to stay wrapped securely in his denial and does not want to be confronted by what his actions show. I think it explains a lot about his actions in this episode. Lee does not want to see Amanda for the desirable woman she is because he does not want to think about desiring her which I think deep down he does.

I remember this scene making a BIG impression on me whenI was 18! The hopeless romantic in me still tends to interpret it as a moment when the facades they’ve both been wearing drop away and they have a sudden realization that everything Amanda has been saying about how people in love behave applies to them. But they’re both frightened of the implications of this and hurry to put up their shields again.
I hadn’t actually noticed that Amanda shrugs off Lee’s arm; I had been under the impression that he suddenly realized what he was doing and dropped it himself. Either way, it’s clear they are now both super-sensitive to how physically comfortable they have become with each other … and they are now a lot LESS comfortable for having that knowledge!
Are Lee and Amanda in love at this point? I think so, but neither are willing to admit it yet, to each other or even themselves.

I don’t see Lee looking in terror at Amanda because he think she loves him but like Redgold said he’s had that lightbulb moment thinking back to all the times HE has touched her! It’s kinda cute to see that sickening realisation cross his face LOL
I think Amanda withdraws quickly lest any misunderstanding between them happens. I think in her usual effervescent manner she was just demonstrating her point rather than subconsciously making feelings known. However I think Lee gave away some hints with his reaction.
Love the awkwardness between them afterwards and not forgetting all that lip licking. It’s the nerves……gives you a dry mouth 😉
Why does Amanda pull away as they walk off, I think she’s struggled to snap back into “normal” mode, what just happened is still fresh in her mind whereas I think Lee is the consummate professional when it comes to brushing stuff off. He easily snaps back and further between Lee and Scarecrow.
Does Amanda love Lee? Nope. Not feeling it. There is deep friendship, which automatically comes with caring but I think Amanda has put that idea to bed until she gets a different signal from Lee.
Is Lee in love with Amanda? Not yet. But I reckon some seeds have been planted and are ready to grow 😉

It’s Sunday and I get to catch up on all the posts! I adore this scene. I agree with you in that Amanda just got caught up in the moment and the explanation and started touching Lee to explain things and noticed what she was doing and stepped back a bit. Lee was of course nervous because he’s not ready to truly show Amanda howmuch she cares yet! He has always been the Casanova, playing the field, but now that the feelings are becoming real, he is not sure how to handle it! I live watching how nervous be gets!…with perfect hair too on a windy day!

I do think Lee is very conflicted here both professionally and personally. He’s just beginning to realize that he values Amanda’s input. She approaches cases in a different way, from a different aspect. He truly wants her input, but there’s still enough of the “loner” in him that he struggles with allowing her that. This is why he “can’t believe” he’s asking why. (This reminds me of Billy saying “I understand you nearly all the time, Amanda. It scares me – a little.”)
He is also conflicted about her as a woman. He still has that she’s-divorced-with-two-kids-a-mother-and-a-mortgage hang up that long-time bachelors sometimes have. (At least, those I have known.) This new lesson in touching-equals-caring makes him very uneasy. I agree with RedGold that he’s thinking about how often he reaches for her hand or puts an arm around her (white-knight protection mode). Amanda doesn’t realize what she’s doing at first. She begins to realize just how deeply she cares here, and pulls back because she’s sure he doesn’t think about her that way. He pulls back because he is becoming more and more aware of her as a woman and can’t quite deal with it. He has been willing to accept her as a friend almost from the first (and finally admitted it in ‘Savior’). But, now he is beginning to realize his feelings might go deeper and doesn’t know how to handle it.

Amanda loves and cares for Lee as a friend and is under no delusion that these feelings will ever be reciprocated. I love this scene because of the physical reminder that underneath the Scarecrow Agent persona is a man who doesn’t want to face his growing feelings for Amanda. Thus his sideways laugh and stutter, brushing it off. I really do think that both of them look at their hands touching and remember all the other times that they physically touch or holds hands. Reaching for each other has become familiar and unconcious. Amanda back away and shrugs off his arm because she is feeling emotionally vulnerable – she would definitely take things to the next level in their relationship, if and only if she felt Lee was being sincere
I agree with RedGold’s double meaning in the script regarding going back.
Amanda offer Lee and out – we could stay here and talk more about what we are feeling or go back to normal. Lee is not ready for that conversation, so let’s go back.

I think that Lee feels a flash of fear not because Amanda is touching him, but because he’s thinking about all the times he has touched her, about the naturalness of that, and about what the significance of that might be!
As for Amanda, I agree that she’s just demonstrating what she’s talking about here initially, but the reaction that the two of them have to this hand-hold is electric. IMO, Amanda has loved Lee just as he is from quite early in their relationship, and she’s in love with him by this episode–without illusions about his short-comings or expectations that he’ll change. What she does have is deep faith in him and belief in his capabilities. The glimpses that he’s given her of his tender qualities and her own intuition feed that love although she’s probably trying to fight it. This scene, IMO, demonstrates what a strong connection they have with one another–so strong that it’s startling to both of them.
I love the way Lee not only takes his hand away in response to her shrugging him off but puts it firmly behind his back, as if to keep that hand from coming out to touch her again without his authorization.

I agree with you about Amanda ‘loving’ Lee at this point.. though I hesitate to call this Amanda being ‘in love’ – I love your comment about their strong connection – that is soooo true!!! and… it is mutual!!! It’s very special isn’t it!! and.. a promise of the good stuff that’s coming!! 🙂

HMMMMM! I love your analysis here. I hope I make sense here. I had always interpreted Amanda’s shrugging off Lee’s arm at the end of the scene more like her reaction to him in “Weekend”. There was a moment of vulnerability, ackwardness and awareness between both of them and she needed some physical space to get her bearings. I found her statement “we can stay here all day or we can go back” very interesting. I am not entirely sure she was talking about returning to Bromfield Hall.

LOL! No, I didn’t mean I think she was propositioning him (she is a stronger woman than I!),but from all the innuendo I usually put in my posts, I can see why you would think that. :-). I instead meant she was giving Lee a choice about to go back before they had the “people who love/care about each other touch each other” speech and demonstration. A way for them to back away from an emotional cliff they are not ready to face.
I’ll have to watch the scene again, but I am really liking Redgold’s suggestion that Lee is replaying everytime he’s touched her and panicking. Although he seems to forget that pretty quickly when they turn to leave.

Hey I was just watching a doco on TV about MI5, and they showed a shot of it, and there is the bridge where Lee and Amanda are standing!! Whoa!!
I did a little search.. the lovely bridge is Lambeth bridge, and standing right behind Lee, https://justwalkwithme.files.wordpress.com/2012/11/2-08-affair-at-bromfield-hall-avi_001770704.jpg , if you cross Lambeth bridge is MI5 Headquarters at Thames house!
I wonder if that was deliberate!

I just wanted to clarify that Ì think the piece of dialogue has double meaning. Amanda means for them to go back to Lord Bromfield’s but I like to think the script writer was also being symbolic.

I’ve noticed that when they have these intense moments, one or both of them steps back quite quickly. Usually, it’s Amanda who initiates that distance, as she does here by turning away from Lee and saying flatly, “She doesn’t touch him.” They are both quite rattled, though, and Lee stutters in his responses, something he hardly ever does. I that Lee tries to skim over the significance of his realization and of this whole conversation with his hearty, “We’d better go–c’mon!” He wants to return to “normal” with her, so he puts his hand on the small of her back like he usually does. But she shrugs it off, so he has to realize, “Oops, not back to normal yet.”
In addition to the power of what they say to each other in this scene, I think that they both experience a physical “zing” when Amanda lays her hands on top of his hands and strokes and holds them. This makes it even more difficult for them to believe that they’re talking only about Lord and Lady Bromfield!

Cindy, I think that the connection you make between this scene and the one in “Weekend” is very interesting. To my recollection, these are the only two scenes that show Amanda shying away from Lee’s touch. (Up though S3, that is; I’m drumming my fingers here until S4 is released.)
