13/15 Season Two, Episode 17: Odds on a Dead Pigeon-Scarecrow and Mrs King

Hiya!!!
Back to the high rise construction site.. looks like Gordon has been rambling on the whole time.. LOL!
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002498565
We re-join Amanda and Gordon with Gordon in midsentence: –if you’d just stayed on that camping trip-
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002501568
Gordon’s head snaps around as he notices the noise of Lee’s car arriving..
Absentmindedly Gordon finishes his sentence:
–it wouldn’t be necessary to kill you too.
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002505071
I must say.. Amanda must be getting use to hearing she has to die Winking smile she seems to cope quite well! Smile I like to think it’s because she knows Lee is coming and if he is alive, then they have hope!

2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002520587We see the vette pull up and Lee and Karen get out. Still holding Lee at gun point, Karen directs him to start climbing the stairs.. LOL 2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002541608yes love the shot to remind us of how oh so very very high the building is!!

Only, when Lee and Karen reach the level where Gordon and Amanda are- they are not at all out of breath!
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002549616
Love the look Lee gives Karen as she gives him a shove.. he’s had enough of being held at gun point Winking smile tee heee..
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002553119
Gordon calls out: I’m over here Stetson!
[rofl.. it’s like he is saying- here is the moment you’ve been waiting for Stetson! I’m here!! but Lee? couldn’t care less about Gordon! LOL!]

We see Gordon emerge from behind some lumber, he’s pushing Amanda along from behind [whooo good thing he doesn’t notice she’s been working on those ropes!]
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002558725
Gordon ‘puts’ Amanda to one side.. and takes centre stage for his final showdown with Lee Stetson!
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002562629
I think Lee is utterly relieved to see Amanda.. but he directs his attention to Gordon – don’t want to show those baddies how important Amanda really is to him! Winking smile [If they really got it? Amanda wouldn’t be to one side.. she’d be in the middle of Gordon’s intended drama!]
Lee as usual tries not to upset the baddie: Still using someone else to do your dirty work huh Redding?! [LOL! Lee is either really stupid.. or has a lot of guts – remember? 😉 ]
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002563129
Note here: Karen is standing behind Lee pointing the gun at him.. see her over his right shoulder?? [why? you’ll see!!]
Lee continues:
Just like your brother Lloyd?!
Gordon: Shut up! I don’t want to hear you mention my brother’s name.
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002569636
[This is where we see Amanda starts rubbing her bindings on the post behind her.. I think Lee does have a lot of guts – and he’s doing it on purpose to enable Amanda to get her ropes untied]
Lee quickly:
Why not?!! isn’t that what all this is about huh??…
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002574641
… Treloggen!
[LOL the way Lee says it, it sounds like Trelargen!] Credle! Me??!!
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002576643
Gordon: I’ve got a long memory Stetson
[oh boy.. Gordon truly is pathetic.. but feel free to keep going Gordon.. give Amanda time to get her ropes cut!]
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002578645
Lee: yeahh.. and someone to pull the hammer down for you.
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_0025806472.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002582649
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002583650At this, Karen storms over next to Gordon- rofl! for a second both Amanda’s 2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002587153are in the same frame.. but suddenly the real Amanda has turned her face Winking smile very interesting to see how they managed all this! [The lighting in this scene is pretty bad.. apologies if my pics are not brilliant Sad smileboo]
Karen, still aiming the gun at Lee asks Gordon:
Do you want to do it? Or do you want to watch?
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002589155
[ I think she’s tired of Gordon and wants this job over with Winking smile ]
Gordon: no I want to watch. [wimp!]
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002592659
We cut back to Lee reacting – only over his right shoulder, you can still see Karen magically behind him rofl!! Smile I think they’ve just reused shots!
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002593159
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002594160We see Amanda is working hard on those bindings furiously- hurry Amanda!!
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_0025946612.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002595662
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002597664as Gordon continues: No I want you to go real slow.
[Snap! Amanda’s bindings are cut!!! Just in time I’d say..  Winking smile quietly she manoeuvres around to the wooden plank. ]
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002599666Gordon: Let’s start with the Kneecap.

Karen aims her gun..
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002600166
We see Lee is calmly waiting.. LOL.. and there is Karen still behind him over his right shoulder! whahaahaa!!! [no wonder he’s so calm 😉 ]
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002600667
They must have run out of reaction shots from Lee that day or something! but the fuzzy Amanda hair can be seen plain as day!
Then! we cut to Amanda as she pushes on a wooden plank- miraculously positioned in such a way that it works like a seesaw, the other side lifts and knocks the gun out of Karen’s hand!
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002601668
What luck! Winking smile and sooooo the fight begins!
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002602302
I see when Karen’s gun goes flying she raises her arm and you can see under her top – she’s wearing some kind of a harness! LOL.. must have been for the hanging scene that’s coming..

2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002605171The gun goes flying and lands next to the lovely dirt free ledge.. Karen and Amanda struggle over the gun. [LOL I think there are now four Amandas! Winking smile as they struggle near the edge- I think that’s two stunt women! ha!]
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002613179
then they suddenly both fall over the side of the ledge..
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002620186
LOL! It looks so staged!! but.. who cares right?! Winking smile All the plot holes have led to this one big moment! Both Amandas hanging over the ledge!! argh!!!!
Lee knocks out Gordon (I won’t even insult it
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002621187by calling it a fight.. Gordon? fight?! wimp!)
Lee hears Amanda’s cries:
Help me Lee I’m slipping!!!!
He looks up and sees what’s happened.. was that Amanda?? or the AntiAmanda????!!!
He rushes over yelling:
hold on!
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002622689
Well, Lee gets the shock of his life when he gets to that ledge!
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002626192
Which one is Amanda???!!!
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002626693
[Looky! another line down the screen.. I guess this is a three split?? but- suddenly the ledge is covered in dirt! Winking smile ]
Left Amanda cries:
Leeee!!! Help me!!! She tried to kill me!!!
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002629195
Right Amanda looks on silently..
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002630697Lee looks between them confused.. and the pressure is on!!! Both women are dangling and the whole of this at times ridiculous plot comes down to this one moment of truth- Will he know which is the true Amanda?? and.. how 2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002632699will he know?? Because it’s not based on anything superficial!! He can only save one- because if he saves the wrong ‘Amanda’ Karen isn’t going to let him rescue the true Amanda!
Lee is struggling here: Hold on. Just. Just hold on!!! [err literally and figuratively! give him a minute to figure this out!!! only.. they might not have a minute!]
Check out those fingers!!!
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002637203
I saw whiter knuckles on Amanda when she was clinging to the windowsill as Lee kissed her in Sudden Death –  you know.. during that ‘in depth’ interview Winking smile haaaa..
Neither Amanda is talking..
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002638204
Lee is still scrutinising the Amandas and thinking.. and then.. Right Amanda  squeezes her eyes shut and says to herself in despair: Ohhhh My gosh!!!!!!
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002639706
lightbulb momentImmediately! A light goes on in Lee’s eyes!!!
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002641207
This man knows Amanda soooo well he knows what her final words could be.. and it immediately rings true- the Amanda on the right is the ‘Right Amanda’! Smile
Lee immediately gets down to grab Amanda and help her up.
What an insanely brilliant moment!! 2applause-appl

2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002650517As Lee finally pulls Amanda up – Karen’s fingers slip [LOL! no ring on her fingers!] and she falls to her death. cheerleader

That is a huge fall- Kudos to the stunt woman!!! I can’t see a parachute!! Winking smile
2.17 ODDS ON A DEAD PIGEON.avi_002653219
I need to stop here sadly.. though stopping here means I can take my time on the next fabulous moments between Lee and Amanda!!! Frame by frame sooo much smk goodness!!!! No need to rush right??!!

So I’ll finish up this post with a little tribute – to mark the passing of the positively awful (but extremely attractive 😉 ) psychopath: Karen Brinkman. She managed to get Treloggen and Credle.. but Lee? No chance!!! She was no match for Lee and Amanda 🙂

2 out of 3 Assassinations ain’t bad 😉

Karen.. this one’s dedicated to you!
‘Crying icicles instead of tears’ ?? That’s Shakespeare!! Winking smile  and.. sounds like something Karen would do Winking smile

I’ll aim to post the next part asap guys! Hang in there!!! Sooooo good!!! and sooooo worth the wait!!! Smile As always- I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts!!!!!!!!

  1. Looking out through the steel girders I doubt that they are above the third floor. Too many other buildings around and trees in Southern California are not that tall.

I love Amanda’s “Oh my gosh” line! Just so Amanda. I am of the opinion that Amanda has buried her affection for Lee and will take what Lee is willing to give at this point. Lee is the one who is coming to realize how important this wonderful, amazing woman is in his life.

    1. Hi Jeanine! Lovely to hear from you!! Oh yeah!!! you are so right..there is no way they are so high up.. and Karen took forever to fall tee hee.. from only a few floors.. there’s alot wrong with that sequence – then again: the things that are right are sooo right! 🙂

I agree with Morley, Happy Camper your remarks about Amanda going after Karen were super!!! I put it down to – meh! Amanda only fights woman baddies.. but that’s not really true I was overlooking how physical he struggle was.. she went after the gun to protect Lee too probably huh! Gooo Amanda!!! 🙂 So thanks for pointing that out – I have a new appreciation for it! 🙂

Hey BJo! what you said about Lee’s uncle? I agree with you! I thought he was actually in reality really lovely.. though with a tough exterior.. and he did the best he could and it was clear to us he did love Lee.. I was thinking of Lee’s upbringing from Lee’s point of view when I said that relationship wasn’t loving – in addition to no tenderness ( his uncle being all proud Lee didn’t cry when he got beaten up??!!) – Lee didn’t perceive the relationship to be in anyway loving – so it didn’t inform his view on loving relationships ( except on maybe what they are not 😉 ) – I didn’t explain it fully sorry! but I do like to think by the end of ARS Lee has come to see that his uncle did love him- in his own way 🙂 Lee seems to be accepting love into his life left right and centre at the moment!!! tee hee.. but I’m really glad you raised that point BJo and I agree with you – I like the colonel too! :

      1. I just had a thought (scary I know!) .. another reason why I love that it was Amanda’s ‘Oh my gosh’ that solved the riddle of which is the real Amanda!

If the real Amanda had yelled out something about Lee that she knows and no one else does, then the moment would have been about how well Amanda knows Lee.. Instead.. because they are silent, and Amanda mumbles ‘oh my gosh’ to herself – the moment is about how well Lee knows Amanda..

Which for me is a huge part of what this episode is all about – Love it!!!!

  2. I LOVE how Amanda totally goes after Karen in this scene! This is such a different Amanda from the beginning of her journey – she jumps right in and tackles one of the baddies — and, in this case, the more dangerous one, leaving Lee the wimpy Gordon to deal with. Bravo!

One more blooper: when you see both Amandas fall off the wall, they fall all the way off (the real Amanda for sure) – there’s no hands hanging on.

This scene was my most vivid memory from watching the show as a child, but – it didn’t happen how I remembered it! I thought Lee said, “Amanda, what’s my code name?” and she of course answered, “Scarecrow!” and so he knew which one was the real Amanda. I’ve been thinking about it, and unless someone knows another episode where something like this happens, I think I made it up. I occasionally mentally re-wrote books or movies if I didn’t like how things turned out, and I think that moment of suspended silence really bothered me. Just like some people have been mentioning in the comments, “Why don’t they say something!” That was my child-brain’s solution, and it actually remained in my memory better than the real scene. As an adult, however, I appreciate the way things really worked. I’m glad to see how well Lee knows Amanda.

    1. Hiya Happy Camper!!! great to hear from you! LOL yes I think you are right! there is no way Amanda fell over the edge and then hung on! too funny!!! there is so much wrong with that moment! LOL!!

I can’t think of a scene that’s as you described.. maybe it’s in a fanfic! Anyone???? I know what you mean about childhood memories not being completely accurate 🙂 Ohhh I agree!!! As an adult the significance and sweetness of things is so meaningful! It’s wonderful because it means now we are adults we can discover new things about the show!

I agree Valerie.. Oh my gosh was simple – and good! 🙂 though fair enough it may not be to everyone’s taste 🙂

Morley!!!! Ohhh my!!!! err yeah – what Morley said!!!! 🙂
You’ve put it so well! I see it the same way you do- you’ve put it so well! I’m on board with all that!!
Ah I see we agree on choosing love – that all sounds good to me!!

Does Amanda really know love? hmm.. Interesting!! when I said she knows what it’s like to love- I was thinking she’s had loving relationships in her life long term.. you know her parents had a loving relationship, she has a loving relationship with her mother and sons..(and most likely with her Dad from the sounds of it but we don’t know details) Hmm- Joe? I have no idea what to make of that relationship – I’m probably seeing it the same way you are Morley.. it was probably not a real love affair! [not compared to what Amanda eventually builds with Lee!]
Whereas Lee had the love of his parents until their deaths at 5 or 7 or whatever.. and since then – he has struggled to have loving long term relationships with anyone.. I didn’t count Lee’s uncle as being a loving relationship .. does that make sense? so I just think Amanda knows how to love people (not just talking of romantic love).

I am having fun trying to figure out where Amanda is at.. I’ve always overlooked her journey – booo! no more of that 😉

Is Lee ahead of Amanda? hmm.. yeah I guess there are moments where I’ve thought that! though I don’t think he’s ahead of her in knowing about love
but I was thinking he was ahead of her in ship of spies! Ohhh I better stop here on this though – maybe we can continue discussing this idea after the next post!!

I thought it was a lovely compliment BJo- thank you!! I was curious which emoticons you liked 😉 I did enjoy using the cheerleader emoticon for when Karen died ! Yes!!! ‘unique’ is a great word to describe Amanda’s on my gosh – good one BJo!
[In reply to your commment on post 12 BJo- where you said you liked Morley’s four steps but want to reserve your right to change your mind?? I agree with you!!! I feel free to change my mind as I see things differently..though I do tend to hold back some ideas till I am further along in the story..
I hope you feel comfortable to say as much or as little as you like 🙂 I love discussing with you 🙂
Don’t worry I’ll never hold you to anything LOL!! I just might clarify something with you if I’m thinking you think one way and now you think another ! LOL!! 🙂
Okay bye for now! Off to publish post 14! 🙂 squeeeeeeeee!!

      1. Iwsod, you are right about Amanda and her previous experience with love compared to the lack of loving significant relationships in Lee’s life. How could I have blanked on that, truly? So now that I am thinking about it I am marveling at how amazing it is that those two can even have come to this point. Amanda does know how to love people, it has made all the difference in Lee’s life already, hasn’t it?

        Like

      2. Hiya iwsod – I can see not counting Lee’s relationship with his uncle as a loving one because I’m guessing there were no hugs, no real tender moments, etc – not like a mom (or an Amanda type of mom anyway) could give. Is that what you mean? I feel the need to speak up for the colonel a little because I think he did love Lee and did the best he could with him – we just know that his best did very little to fill up “Lee’s love tank.” Lee didn’t learn anything at all about what is was like to be loved (by someone like Amanda) or how to love (like someone like Amanda) from his Uncle Bob. Amanda really fills up Lee’s love tank in a way that it has never been done before and he can’t help but be affected by it.

And I do feel comfortable saying as much or as little as I do – it’s just a little tricky sometimes because I don’t want to get ahead of our walk. Other than fanfics and a stray music video here and there, I’m trying to not watch any episodes that are ahead of where we are in the walk so my eyes are *a little fresher*. It also makes me really look forward to each episode more and more!

    2. Happy Camper, as I read your comment about Amanda going after Karen, I had my own “o my gosh!” That really was a huge thing for Amanda to do, she physically went after the baddie, with a gun, on the edge of a building. I think that might even been braver than in LOTP. She really is striking out as Lee’s partner, isn’t she?

    3. Yes, happycamper0 – good call – I love that we continue to see more of this Amanda – we all know what she’s capable of, including Lee, after LOTParty!

  3. Interesting tidbit found while trying to ID a different SMK building: according to the SMK in LA map – https://www.zeemaps.com/SMK_in_L.A.# – the construction site is 10490 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, California 90024 –> The Blair House (a condo complex); construction completed in 1989.

    1. Hi All!
Oh my gosh!!! you mean some of you don’t like oh my gosh??!! 😉

I agree with BJo, I put down Amanda not doing a ramble to the fact that she is truly terrified.. and has gone into silent/I’m about to die mode.. well except for her little cry to herself there..
I also thought when Lee said hold on just hold on- he was telling them both to stop talking so he could think. As soon as he says that neither speaks to him. Hey! It was a pressurised moment..
I thought it could have been within character for Amanda to say – but that’s not true!!!! when Karen says she tried to kill her.. but.. I figured I’d just enjoy the poetry of the moment.. and I actually really like the cheesy ‘oh my gosh’ as being the give away! I’ve talked about it a little in the next post I think.. so I won’t say why yet!

But.. roflmbo BJo you do have some great memes there!! we could have a fabulous time coming up with different memes at this moment! 🙂 Go for it! [I couldn’t top the diaper duty line! brilliant!!!]

My emoticons?? what did I do with my emoticons? I didn’t think I did anything different LOL! but thanks BJo 🙂

hey Valerie… Gordon is such a loser rofl!! that’s so funny! and very true! 😉 Yes I’d agree Lloyd was the brains!

I confess I’ve gone a little over board with the next post eek.. I stayed up late last night and did it.. naughty iwsod.. I’ll suffer for that today!!

Morley I love your four steps! I think there was something growing from ‘the first time’. but.. I also don’t tend to be of the ‘ they were destined to be together’ line of thinking though.. To me, there are moments where the characters choose to stay in this relationship- whatever it is- and they both kept choosing throughout the show to be together… They have always been drawn together- but to me, they had a choice- I don’t see it as predestined- I find the choosing to be even more romantic and wonderful.. I do hope that makes a bit of sense.. I don’t want to get too existential or whatever! 😉

Morley, I agree there is a gap between what’s going on and what the characters believe is going on.. for sure!
I was thinking Lee is in denial now – he knows there’s something there but he doesn’t want to face it yet.. do you think maybe he is in denial because he doesn’t know what it is?? it is confusing and scary?? I thought in Ship of Spies he got a glimpse of what it was- it was pretty clear to him- but he wasn’t ready to deal with it so he has been denying it.. but.. at the same time, this episode would definitely help him to begin to understand what’s going on- he can’t repress it when things are so intense right??!!! but.. I guess we can talk about that after the next post! 😉 I’ll hold this thought! thanks Morley!!

I think Amanda is confused too.. but.. she knows what love looks like and feels like.. so she’s confused because she’s starting to see it in Lee maybe?? and it wasn’t what she had expected.. or what he had said he wanted or was capable of… maybe?? Soo.. there’s a whole lot of confusion here as the two Amanda’s hang on for dear life 😉

Cindy I think there were four Amanda’s!! don’t forget the stunt ladies.. oh wait… maybe it’s five with the extra Karen behind Lee!!! I do like to think after this awful experience Amanda burns that top of hers.. ahem.. I have been blocking it out of my mind because while I find the earbuttons funny… the top is well.. not!

Interesting article KC! That vid made me dizzy!!! I hadn’t realised it had started as there was no volume! whoa! Kiwis need that in Christchurch nowadays right?! Poor Christchurch!!! I found it funny there is another APA! To me that’s the American Psychological Association!

I loved all the hills in the distance in this scene.. I don’t remember seeing any in DC.. I searched hard for the hollywood sign lol!!!! that would have been soooo funny!!!! but alas.. I didn’t find it 😉

Okay well I need to get on with my day here.. One meme.. then off goes my internet so I can get work done!

Further to this idea of why doesn’t Amanda say something: anyone read the script’s version????!!!

        There’s an extra line!

As soon as Karen says she tried to kill me Amanda says: “I’m Amanda. Don’t listen to her.”

Hmmm.. I prefer what we got.. the silence makes sense to me and makes the oh my gosh even more powerful.. but feel free to disagree!

        1. I like the “oh my gosh” from Amanda. It’s simple and simply Amanda. It’s something that she’s said in the past and will say again in the future and is unique to her. It was the only thing that Lee needed to know that it was Amanda. I think anything else would have just caused more confusion or may have caused the women to argue about what they did or did not know about Lee. Lee could see they obviously went through a lot of trouble and expense to surgically alter someone to look like Amanda. He wouldn’t be sure as to what other information they found out and could use against him. I just think it works…short, sweet, and simple.

        2. I don’t like the script version – so glad they didn’t have Amanda say that line. I agree with those who said the OMG is uniquely Amanda. Other than trying to have fun with meme lines, the only other thing I can hear Amanda even saying is Lee’s name – sort of like how she says it in an upcoming episode.

      2. I like the “o my gosh” (and I like it that Lee likes it), and I like it that when Amanda is really scared she becomes silent. But I love the meme ideas as well. We can have both, yay!
Iwsod, I don’t think that necessarily that they were destined to be. I like the idea that they had choices along the way and what I really like about that is that each time they came to a crossroads they chose to love. I know that they weren’t aware that it was love that they were choosing, and it wasn’t always romantic love, but it was a choice for their growing relationship, it was to believe in one another, to trust one another, etc. all those great building blocks of love.
I think this stuff that Lee is feeling and thinking right now has got to be scaring the heck out of him when he spends any time really focusing on it . And I don’t know if I think if Amanda really knows what love feels like. She experienced something with Joe, but it didn’t last and when push came to shove it wasn’t enough. Sometimes I think that Lee may be further along on this journey into a love relationship with Amanda than Amanda is at this point…not that she isn’t feeling things or noticing changes in Lee and wondering about it, but that may be a very guarded wondering. I guess I think Lee’s cage (Tupperware closet) has been rattling a bit more lately than Amanda’s.

      3. I guess I like the light bulb thingy, the cheerleader when Karen dies and the hands clapping for Lee hit me the most. I don’t usually make specific note of the emoticons, but in this post they just stood out for me. For a scene that is filled with lame-o Gordon, 5 Amandas including the psychically disturbing one the emoticons really help to bring it to life and highlight and enhance the importance of the “Aha!” moment that Lee has.

  5. I never understood why Amanda is so silent when she’s hanging off the edge of the building. C’mon say something like “Lee I love you, I never had the chance to say how I really felt but I was too scared and didn’t think you fel that way althought how you’re looming at me lately I am beginning to wonder if there is a chance for us cos you know we’d be really great together and I am not like all those silly little girls you’ve dates, I’m sophisticated and intelligent whilst having beauty (well when this fugly haircut grows out) and I have great fashion sense with my matchy matchy earrings”. You know a good old Amandaramble would have been perfect 😉

Loving the idea of psychic disturbance lmao

  6. Just what is Amanda cutting her ropes on? Thos steel beams aren’t very sharp? And just why is all this lumber sitting around here? From all the pics of the very tall building it looks like they are in the steel and concrete phase still…I don’t work on construction, but I don’t imagine there are too many high rise buildings out there with wood frames/outer walls. Especially in earth-quake prone California. Oh wait, this is DC,that explains it. 😉 Actually, this building and the one started next to it look like many a building we see in the US now – abandoned construction.

That is too funny about Karen still being behind Lee! ROFL – this scene is full of bloopers!

I’ve often wondered why Amanda is so silent in this scene. It reminds me of SOS in the car when Amanda is uncharacteristically quiet. Also, there are sooo many other things Amanda could have said to let Lee know which one is the real Amanda. Like I know you hate beans! Or Hey Diaper Duty, it’s me! Or I know Jillian has a great place in the Poconos. Or, get your ‘not bad’ legs over here and save me! The OMG works, but I think it is pretty weak and says to me that Amanda’s mind has gone blank – guess she’s really scared this time – but geesh! You could’ve been a little more helpful. Or here’s a thought – Lee ask Amanda a question?? Guess both their minds are blank – or full of realization that if I don’t get this right our love will never be! 😉

I guess I shouldn’t complain…because it does set up the next part well. Can’t wait for your next post, iwsod!

    1. LOL @ all the things that Amanda could have said… hmmm… we could have a load of fun with memes! 😀
Seriously, now, I think that both of them really are kind of frozen in the moment… brains not functioning 100%… and I think that for Lee, this is a prime reminder of why agents need to keep their objectivity. (I think, also, the writers wanted to keep it simple. 😀 And this was simple and effective and awww…)
(Oh, and wood can actually be a good construction material in EQ-prone areas… it has properties [e.g., elasticity] that some other materials don’t… but yeah–probably not for high-rise buildings, though this is interesting: http://www.apawood.org/level_b.cfm?content=srv_newsinfo_34 [Shrugs. I’m a Kiwi living in SoCal–whaddya expect?])

      1. Meme away, KC! I came up with those with just a few minutes thought. I’m sure you and the other memers could really come up with some hysterical ones! Interesting article – and cool video.

        1. Yep. ‘Tis awesome, huh!?! Wood has always been a popular construction material back home (though not for tall buildings)…

    2. BJo, you are too funny!! “Get your “not bad” legs over here and save me” has me rolling over here!

I remember thinking as a kid that, if I were Lee or Amanda, the first thing we would do after we were safe again is figure out our “safe phrase” in case something like this ever happened again! I was such a nerd!

  7. Gordon, such a loser. Doesn’t want to get his hands dirty by actually doing the thing that he wants done. Let someone else handle the actual killing part. I sometimes wonder what the brother Lloyd was like. Maybe he was the actual brains of the outfit. And of course, this wasn’t going to be one of those long fight scenes…thank goodness!

Love Lee’s aha moment when he realizes who the true Amanda is. So telling in how close they have become and how he is really getting to know the real Amanda. She is unique unto herself and he knows it. More goodness coming….can’t wait!

  8. Hmmm… maybe the bit of Karen that stays in the frame after Karen’s moved to stand by Gordon is just Lee still feeling her creepy presence? 😀 Like leftover psychic disturbance? 😀

I love that Amanda is so focused on getting the gun she goes running through between Lee and Gordon and has to duck under Lee’s arm…

Yes, Lee knows that Amanda is the only person whose last words would be “Oh my gosh!” (Then again, might Dotty say the same? Nah… Dotty’s probably too feisty.)

Awww… Meatloaf!?! I love Meatloaf! 🙂 (Was the car-ride to the construction site “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” for Karen? ROFL!)
