5/12 Season Three, Episode 6: Sour Grapes-Scarecrow and Mrs King

Lee and Amanda pull up in front of Escoffier America. Such a pretty building!
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001160481Big thanks to Jestress for transcribing this next section!! thank-you Whooo again, Lee goes around to help Amanda open her door- not quite making it in time to actually open it for her.. but.. I am sensing a new pattern here..me like!!
Lee takes her hand and helps her from the car, and she thanks him.. sweet! If we can’t have the funny, we can at least have the romance!

This is almost an exact replay of the moment they arrived at the McNeil mansion! Once again, Lee leaves his keys in the ignition, (hear the ding ding ding ding?!) as Lee walks around to Amanda’s side of the car, Amanda takes them out of the ignition…
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001166415
[Whoa- wait a second.. did I just hear Lee do a tiny bit of whistling as he walked around to open Amanda’s door??!!! my my.. he’s relaxed and content with the way life is going huh?!]
Amanda returns them to Lee.. my my.. he’s so distracted these days by the contentment of helping Amanda out of the car that he risks leaving his keys in his precious vette?! thoughts?
LOL and the car window is left down..
Amanda (as Lee helps her out of the car): Thank you. [ahhh they’re so polite to each other!]
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001172504Lee (as Amanda hands him his keys): Thank you.
Ahhhh sooo soooo soooo polite with each other.. it’s like they are both relishing their changing relationship maybe? thoughts?
Yes.. try and give it a go as Sour Grapes before Utopia Now.. as this was the ep order we got! Smile I think things are beginning to shift between them- and they are both on their best behaviour – unsure of quite what is happening between them (as so far it’s unsaid) – slight trepidation = extra polite manners? Though it is clear here as we continue they are still very happy and comfortable together.. so let’s continue!

3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001176767Together they start walking up to the building.
Lee: Alright.
Amanda (in a low voice): You know, I’m a little nervous about this, Lee.
—(kind of breaks off as Lee starts talking).
Lee: It’s okay, we’ve got a good cover.
[I love how Amanda is so open with Lee about being nervous about this! Such honesty.. and Lee? He doesn’t hesitate to respond with supportive encouragement! Ahhh such a contrast to the early days when Lee didn’t even want Amanda around! Smile squeeeee! It’s as if Lee has committed to helping Amanda succeed as an agent – he has accepted this is her path that she has chosen – and he’s gonna support her in that – very positive steps for Lee on display here! and.. very swoony! ]
Amanda: Alright.  We are Lilly and Gregory Peterson from Hillsborough, New York.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001181770Amanda takes Lee’s arm and they discuss their cover walking up to the entrance -because it would have been way too easy for someone to overhear them talking about it in the car – yes this is much better 😛
Lee: Mm-hm.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001185310Amanda: You are in computer software, and I am a wealthy art patron.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001186361Lee: That’s it.  (Lee pats her hand.)
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001187275Squeeeee I love how Lee  pats Amanda’s  hand which is on his arm a few times.. oh how cute!! Such a shame that Lee didn’t do that when the sun shone on them momentarily! ugh!
Amanda rehearses to herself: I’m Lilly Peterson, wealthy art patron.
Lee: Alright, here we go.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001194859The door opens and they are greeted by the butler. [I have more to say about the butler- but since we don’t actually see his face here I’ll hold off till we see him again and not jump ahead!]
Ah! one thing I do notice here at the front door though – Lee is not wearing his wedding ring yet! I notice because I love to drool over it in this scene! LOL!
Lee: Yes, Mr and Mrs Gregory Peterson to see Mr Robison.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001197043Butler: Please, come in.
Lee: Thank you.
Amanda: Thank you.

You know, I don’t know why Lee isn’t a part of Escoffier already.. I thought he was quite the gourmand.. asking Amanda where was her cellar in Remembrance of things past?! Arguing with his uncle over which Pommard was the better year or whatever it was! That side of Lee seems to have been downplayed nowadays.

Inside we find Lee and Amanda are being given a glass of red by the butler (whoa! considering the heroin was in a glass or red – this is rather trusting of them wouldn’t you say?!) tee hee!
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001207076
Amanda: Thank you very much.
Lee: Thank you.  (Takes a sip.)  Mmm Ah!
[Lee enjoyed that sip! Winking smile lol or maybe it’s relief.. phew! No heroin in this glass! I haven’t suddenly morphed into Marcel Marceau, I think I’m gonna be alright! Winking smile ]
Lee and Amanda walk over into the foyer as Lee in hushed tones says to Amanda:  If there is a membership list of the Brotherhood, it’s got to be right there.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001211863
(They show a sign that says “Membership and Administration Deuxième Floor.”)
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001217911
Before we leave, I have to get to that office.
Amanda: Right.
Notice how Lee assumes it is he, and not Amanda who will be getting into the admin office? LOL! Lee does not want Amanda to try this. [Amanda wisely doesn’t fight it-better to beg for forgiveness than seek permission right Amanda?! 😉 ]

The sign says membership is on the ‘Deuxième floor’???!! That tickles my funny bone!!! Why is it not the second floor?? or the Deuxième étage?? tee hee!
They notice across the room a cooking demonstration is taking place by the guest chef of the week Cecilia Kemper (watch out for those cooking teachers!!! The last one wanted to make Lee into a pilgrim’s peach puff!! )
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001223056Cecilia Kemper: Now that the foul is seasoned, we can simply put it aside and prepare the vegetables for the stuffing.
A man approaches Lee and Amanda.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001227204Mr Robison: Ah, Mr and Mrs Peterson.
Lee: Ooh.
Amanda: Oh!
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001230483The wedding ring! the wedding ring! I see the wedding ring!!! swoony!!! I’m transfixed by it on Lee’s long fingers.. ahem..
Mr Robison: As manager of Escoffier America, I just want to assure you it’s a great honor to be allowed to consider your collection of Bordeaux.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001236867Amanda: Well, thank you very much.
Lee laughs.
Mr Robison: Have you been collecting long?
Lee and Amanda speak at the same time:
Lee: For some time, yes. / Amanda: No, not really.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001239408Mr Robison gives them an huh? look!
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001240609
Then, again at the same time:
Lee: Actually, it only seems a long time. / Amanda: Several years, actually.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001241228Mr Robison gives them a double huh?!
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001243197
In response Lee coughs..
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001244543
[I think this is so Amanda knows Lee is letting her answer- she may have hesitated to respond again at the same time as Lee – if He’s coughing, he’s not going to respond!]
Amanda: It’s the second marriage for both of us.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001246367
Good answer Amanda.. and indeed.. if she were to marry Lee.. it would be her second marriage Winking smile ahem!
We hear Lee quietly add:
yeah.
In support of Amanda’s explanation.

Lee and Amanda have a bit of form here -stumbling when acting the couple and answering questions! Let us know if I’ve overlooked any moments..  –They had a tiff about this issue in Weekend (squee!) when they stumbled over answering Mrs Craddich’s questions and Amanda said they were (horror!!!)… newlyweds!!
Mrs Craddock: …How long have you been married?
W.avi_000959672W.avi_000961254[together] Amanda: Not very — /Lee: Oh, about s– [oh dear!]
W.avi_000983637They both stop when realising they are both answering with a different answer!
Amanda
: Just a short time tee heee.
W.avi_000987874(Mrs Craddock smiles broadly.)
Mrs Craddock
: Newlyweds. Oh, isn’t that wonderful?
W.avi_000992346[I love this scene.. hope you don’t mind this little reminder! I love how it shows how far they’ve come!!]
So then Lee was in a huff with Amanda..
Lee: Great. Newlyweds…
W.avi_001008479
…The way that woman talks, it’ll be all over the hotel. Why didn’t you pick a number? 2 years, 3 years –
Amanda: Why didn’t you pick a number, 2 years, 3 years!
W.avi_001013467Lee: Because it is not a question for a man to answer.
W.avi_001015754Amanda: A man can answer the question as well as a woman.
W.avi_001017154Lee: Shush!!
Amanda: Don’t shush me.
[whooo hooo!! feisty Amanda!!] I love that here in Sour Grapes, Lee doesn’t shush Amanda or criticise her response. He deals with it Smile Go Lee!! And Amanda deals with the explanation too! Smile ]

How can I move on without mentioning  – Ship of Spies! The other ‘Lee and Amanda the cover couple stumble over simple questions’ scenario!)

[Hey this is one stumble per season so far!]
Remember when Lee and Amanda met Miles and Gillian?
Miles: First cruise?
[Together]
Amanda: Yes./ Lee: No.
2.12 SHIP OF SPIES.avi_0005054352.12 SHIP OF SPIES.avi_000506086
Jillian:
Oh, Miles and I met on a cruise last summer.
2.12 SHIP OF SPIES.avi_000508008Miles: How long have you been engaged?
[Together] Amanda: Six months./ Lee: Three months.2.12 SHIP OF SPIES.avi_000513147
2.12 SHIP OF SPIES.avi_000512545

Lee: Well, officially, three months. Uh, I asked her six months ago.
2.12 SHIP OF SPIES.avi_000518443[in Ship of Spies, Lee saves it! In Sour Grapes, Amanda saves it Smile ]
Amanda: It took me a little while to…
Lee: Yeah, three months to…
Amanda: …make up my mind.
2.12 SHIP OF SPIES.avi_000522361

I find it interesting to look back on similar (though not identical) situations these two have experienced and see if it offers us any insights.. and if not – well it’s just fun to think back to a couple of very swoony episodes.. BTW- so glad Lee has pulled back on the guyliner! Winking smile
Anyway.. back to Season 3 and Sour Grapes – where there appears to be no sour grapes over their little couples stumble Smile they take it in their stride!
Mr Robison: I understand, Mrs Peterson, that you’re also very active in the arts.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001247727[Oh my gosh! watch Lee here as Amanda responds!!!]
Amanda: Oh, yes.  Well, uh, we both feel…
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001250881
…that a life without art…
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001251566
…would be like a day without sunshine,…
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001252225
…you know.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001253612(Amanda laughs awkwardly.)
Lee is hilarious here in his response to Amanda’s hyperbole! rofl!!!
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001255323
He seems to hide his facial expressions in his wine glass as he can’t believe what she’s come out with! tee hee!! don’t try to hard Amanda!  A little embarrassing for Amanda.. but no harm is done – I think Mr Robison picks up on Lee wanting to get away from his wife Winking smile Hmmm maybe this was Lee’s intent..to convey that message so they could split.  Robison turns and looks at C3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001258078ecilia Kemper here..
Cecilia: Now, if I can find a volunteer to help me with the chopping of the vegetables, and don’t worry, I have aprons.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001262101Robison discreetly motions with his finger to Cecilia to pick Amanda..

3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001263398
Lee notices this, but Amanda doesn’t. Yeah, now I’m thinking  Lee encourages being split from Amanda in his demeanour.. what do you think?
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001264193

Cecilia: How about, um, you?3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001266237
(She points at Amanda, who looks surprised. but Lee’s pleased!)  3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001266928…Yes, how about you?

Amanda: No.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001268932
Amanda resists.. not realising this is what Lee has been angling for.
Lee and Amanda kind of talk over each other until Amanda agrees:
Lee: Oh, oh, go ahead, dear.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001273314[whoooo Lee calls her ‘ Dear’ ?.. swoon.. me cook anything after hearing that! swoon.. anything you say Lee!]
Amanda: No, I really don’t want to, sweetheart.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001273948Lee: Dear, it might be fun.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001274683Amanda: I don’t wanna go.
Lee: Come on.
[Amanda finally realises this is Lee’s plan.. must be a bit of eye speak here!]
Amanda: Oh, I’d be happy to help you.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001275563

Lee chuckles and Amanda walks off toward Cecilia.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001278733
Watching Lee play the doting husband smiling at Amanda having a go? swoony!!! and just look at that prominent.. shiny.. wedding ring!!!
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001280582Cecilia (in the background): Don’t be shy.  There’s really nothing to this.
Mr Robison: I hope you don’t mind, but, uh, I asked Cecilia to distract your wife.  Your senior sponsor asked that you be shown our private cellar…
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001288241
(I guess the senior sponsor is Plato?) …I thought it best that we just keep it between us men.  [grunt grunt!]
Lee: Hmm.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001290783Mr Robison: Please?  (He shows Lee the way to the cellar.) [Thanks Jestress for transcribing that whole escoffier section!]

We cut here to the delivery dock where the wine case with the red label (Remember it?!) has been languishing thanks to the Knucklehead delivery guy (lol remember him?! it’s been a few weeks since we had him in a post due to the go slow!)
Knucklehead’s supervisor finds it was pushed up the back of the queue, contrary to his orders.. so he picks it up and confronts Knucklehead with it.
He fires Knucklehead, then picks up the wine case to put it in his delivery van.
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001323628Only, it’s locked.. so he puts the case of wine momentarily on the back of knucklehead’s truck.. while he gets the keys to the delivery van.. yeah smart one supervisor!!  In a huff, knucklehead slams the back of his truck closed…
3.06 SOUR GRAPES.avi_001335451
not noticing the case of wine and he drives off with it.
Realising what’s happened the supervisor gets in his van and chases after the Knucklehead!
So.. what’s this all about then.. why did we need to see this?? Hmmm.. More delays for getting the case of wine to the charity HQ I guess.. Which means a delay in the paperwork arriving at the McNeil mansion..

Well I best finish up here for the moment.. anyone else relishing Lee and Amanda playing the married couple??!!! Do tell! Byee for now!

  1. I will never get tired of watching Amanda tuck her arm in Lee’s, or see him slide his arm around her waist. I never get bored seeing them holding hands. I love seeing his hand on the small of her back or the way she runs her hands over his lapels. S&MK really knew how to make us feel faint with these sweet touches. But then the have them act like a married couple and we are beside ourselves, swooning with giddiness. This show did romance RIGHT.

  2. Um…you know how Hullen’s boss calls him Knucklehead? I just noticed that there are ACTUALLY knuckles on his head. Is it just me or is Hullen’s hat a fist?

  3. Hiya!! Working through taking screen caps of filming raul here.. I just noticed there’s a scene – at the café, where Lee runs after the baddies who have kidnapped Scotty – and he leaves Amanda at the restaurant table. he tells her to stay there (lol!) – but what was interesting to me was – Lee leaves his keys behind on the table – and Amanda takes the keys and tries to get Lee’s car for him.. this was a sort of a variation on what we see in this episode – Lee leaving his keys and Amanda returning them to him.. hmm.. I just thought that was interesting and had forgotten about this.

I feel like I need to go watch all the earlier episodes for these sorts of things again! oh boy! but.. can’t notice everything!!! good thing there are many of us 🙂 maybe together we’ll notice all these little connections!

  4. I tend to think the extra politeness and attentiveness outside the house is L. and A. playing their cover. They are clearly having fun playing the married couple (love the contrast with previous attempts!), but it does seem a bit over-the-top. Almost a parody of the super-considerate couple.

    1. You know LASinLA, that totally works for me – your explanation of this scene in front of Escoffier.. why did I not conclude that?? ahh.. it’s because when they arrive at the McNeil Mansion they do exactly the same thing – it’s an almost exact repeat.. with the keys and the thank yous.. and they were not playing a cover out the front of the McNeils..

So while I agree it could be partly the super considerate couple.. I think it is partly genuine behaviour between them outside Escoffier..
      What does everyone else think?

      Bye!

    2. I think that their behavior outside of the McNeil’s and the Escoffier are just Lee and Amanda being Lee and Amanda. I think that we are just continuing to see some growth in their relationship. Not necessarily or just a personal one, but in their partnership and friendship. I also see it as Lee becoming less rigid in how he holds himself with Amanda. He has become much more relaxed over time as he has come to accept her as a partner and a friend. There is a comfort zone there and he feels safe with her so therefore he can relax a little.

Since he is more relaxed he probably is tending to let his mind wander down various paths of what ifs and maybes. And he knows that Amanda always has his back and picks up his slack at times. Amanda is certainly more relaxed with this cover than from previous occasions. First of all, she knows about it up front and probably had a hand in planning part of it. And she has come a long way in her training and probably feels more capable and up to handling this situation. Besides, it’s not one that has them having to share a room and deal with that awkwardness of who’s sleeping where.

  5. I think Lee leaves the keys in the car because he’s in such a hurry to do the gentlemanly thing and open the door for Amanda.. Woohoo! He really is enjoying playing the husband this time, and they are definitely more in sync. The timing of the marriage question generally catches them off guard, I think. This time it wasn’t a question of how long have you been married/together, but how long have you been collecting? They had probably settled the length of the marriage, but didn’t consider the collection question.

    Like

    1. I wonder if Lee is really so focused on showing Amanda that he is an attentive gentleman that he does forget his keys? I like this idea because it suggests to me that he is purposefully pursuing and wooing Amanda, so much so that he is leaving his keys in the ignition in order to get to her door. They must have had a great time together at the opera (that is my attempt to try to accept this episode order). Something has catapulted Lee into full pursuit mode, of course using the new and improved Lee. Wonder what that was??? 😉

      1. Oh yeah Morley.. I hear ya! I’m resisting the what does it all mean question.. or the ‘why?!’ – and sticking to exploring what they are doing – and what it can tell us.. maybe you’ve noticed I’m doing this..

I love your attempt to explain with Sour Grapes first. It’s good to give it a go.. and then once we’ve done Utopia now, we’ll want to compare the explanations.. 🙂

I think Lee is trying out new behaviours with Amanda – and they are being well received.. why? Hmm.. While he tried a normal relationship with Leslie, I’d still hesitate to say that he has recently (or maybe Eva – get it?!) had a normal relationship fully – I tend to see Lee’s growing relationship with Amanda as very new to him.. so he tries these little gentlemanly moves on to see how it feels – and I think he likes it 🙂 he likes how Amanda likes it.. and feels good .. swoony! But it is new- so I see a little trepidation here.. being cautious and extra courteous.. but that’s just how I’m seeing it!

I don’t know that Lee is in full pursuit mode.. is he? Hmm.. I don’t know that I’d say that based on him opening the door for her – but how everyone defines this will vary no doubt 🙂 keeps things fun!
Lee is improving though.. very true!

        Liked by 1 person

        1. I agree that Lee is not necessarily in full pursuit mode at this point. I think he is taking very small baby steps. Right now he has something with Amanda that he’s never had before, a true friendship and a real partnership. He has someone who cares about him unconditionally and he knows it. We are not too sure about where things actually stood with Dorothy, but there was something there and the loss deeply affected him. But Amanda has shown that she is not going anywhere, no matter how hard Lee pushes. Most of her behaviors toward him such as in Savior and Burn Out have shown him that Amanda’s caring and friendship is the real deal and that she knows the real Lee. She accepts him, trusts him, and supports him and will go out of her way to be there for him. I think this gives him pause to tread a bit lightly and take things slowly. He doesn’t want to ruin what he already has by moving or pushing too fast.

In both the Eva and Leslie situations while there was a relationship, there was not a friendship. I don’t think he was ever able to share all of himself with either of them. I mean, Amanda was able to get Lee to talk about his partner dying in the very first episode. Amanda has seen and knows both sides of the Lee/Scarecrow coin.

Lee has always been a gentleman and opening a car door is part of that. He always holds the door for Amanda and we know he has that white knight on a horse thing working for him. I’m still trying to go with the flow on where this episode lies, but I’m starting to see some different possibilities as we delve further into this ep.

          1. Has Lee ever mentioned his dead partner after episode 1? It’s odd he would have told Amanda about him that one time -when they first met – and not again. It does show, though, how Lee must have felt a connection to her right from the start, to reveal such a personal, painful piece of his history.

  6. I love seeing Lee in the wedding ring too and I watched the scene of them walking to the door multiple times trying to find the ring there, but could never see it. I also think that when Mr. Robinson makes the comment about keeping things just between us men, Lee laughs with him, but Lee doesn’t really feel that way. When are they going to learn to work out their covers a little more before going in. They just seem to wing it anymore.

  7. Transfixed is right, but my fixation is not on the ring, but that swoony Lee Stetson. I am loving the interplay and interactions of this deepening partnership of Lee and Amanda. He is so much more relaxed as he works with Amanda. In looking back to the beginning of this episode how Francine tried to diminish Amanda’s participation. Lee kept silent as he knew how is was all going to play out anyway. His growth is coming in leaps and bounds now.

Love the recaps of Weekend and Ship as to how they have handled the married cover. What’s so funny is how they can’t seem to get a time factor together when dealing with how long they’ve been together or married when it’s a cover, but in Wizard they knew exactly how many years, months, weeks, and days they had known each other since the train station. It means more so it’s ingrained in them.

Lee is a bit of an epicurean so it’s funny to see that take a back seat in this episode.

    1. Yup yup and yup!!!! Lee is certainly v swoony here!!! Wait till we get to season 4 Valerie!! what are we going to do? !! I’m going to need to build up some strength if I am to withstand all that swoony goodness.. hmm I’ll have to take my inspiration from Amanda – who manages to not swoon regularly!

Hey I’m really glad many of you have enjoyed the recap!! I enjoyed it too and was a little – hmm come on iwsod we are walking through sour grapes.. not weekend or not ship of spies.. (was worried the diversion was a little big) but. I went with it anyway – and am really glad I did now! 🙂

  8. “Why is it not the second floor?? or the Deuxième étage??”
Something I learned when I was in school is that in most French and Spanish-speaking countries (and a lot of Europe, apparently – correct me if I’m wrong here), the ground floor is the “Main floor”, and the floor above it is the “First floor”. So they have to do two flights of stairs to get to Administration?
(Or they’re just trying to be pretentious. Obviously, it’s not working on those of us who actually ARE pretentious. :P)

I love watching them play ‘married’ and how that’s evolved over the years. I forgot how gorgeous Amanda looked in that sparkly white thing from Weekend – I don’t like her in pastels so much, but her evening wear is (almost – except for the PJs) always stunning.

She’s definitely making me giggle with the whole ditzy-trophy-wife thing – I prefer to think it’s mostly intentional. Perhaps she’s channeling Francine? And I think she does probably realize that Lee is planning for them to split up, but Lilly Peterson has probably never laid a finger in a kitchen in her life. Amanda, on the other hand, would have jumped to be helpful if she were just being herself; she’s really just getting into the role, I think.

And I can’t say I’m not swooning a little over the wedding rings, too.

    1. You are right Danni, about the floors in Europe. In Germany we call the “Ground Floor” ” Erdgeschoss” and the floor above would be the First floor ” Erster Stock”.

Agree also on Amanda’s evening wear. But you know what has always bothered me on her current Outfit? The Buttons or on the back. How does she manage to dress herself?….. Oh…. Wait… Maybe her husband helps to botton and un-button it…. 🙂

      Like

    2. True.. I probably didn’t give Amanda enough credit.. you’re right she was probably playing the ‘whole ditzy trophy wife thing’ – I like it!

yeah I’m agreeing with you about those Pjs.. so wrong.. did anyone ever like them?! I see the overall evening wear differently though Danni, I prefer to see Amanda wearing colours – and I’ve grown weary of the white outfits all time ( but heck, we see her in bright pink and she’s wearing Pj’s!! argh!!!)

Oh and “Why is it not the second floor?? or the Deuxième étage??” (quoting myself! lol) – I found it funny because it’s mixing the two languages.. it’s half English and half French.. It wasn’t about the second floor – yeah I’ve come across the ground floor conundrum before in Europe..(had a nice surprise getting into an elevator and finding a ‘t’ button.. but no ‘g’ hmm.. but where’s ‘g’ for ground?! tee hee.. I figured it out eventually..

I guess Escoffier has enough levels that the second floor could be the third one (lol) it looks like quite an interesting place!

  9. So they were wearing wedding rings, Iwsod, LOL? Amanda’s outfit is also a bit wedding-like. Also really enjoyed your wedding cover comparisons. The interesting thing is that they now appear more intimate in the scene before entering the door than while actually playing the married cover inside.

whoooo now that is interesting! They are touching each other more before they get in there than once they are in there.. but lol maybe that’s because they are holding wine glasses or something.. though – I see LASinLA has given a suggestion about their behaviour outside Escoffier – check it out! (I’ll reply to LASinLA’s comment)
      Bye!

  10. I get the feeling that Lee is enjoying playing the married couple. I think he has known all along that a relationship with Amanda would be a serious committed one and that was one of the reasons he kept away from it. But he isn’t rejecting the idea any more. He has tried out normal and realized he had the right idea, but the wrong woman. Now he has taken a few tentative steps toward romance with Amanda. I bet playing around with being the doting husband feels a bit differently than it did in Weekend or even is SOS. He seems pretty comfortable with it.

For some reason I always think hat the actor who played Mr Robinson is Henry Winkler (The Fonze), I know it isn’t but my mind plays tricks on me.

  11. I love the compare and contrast of their wedding ‘covers’. At least Lee let her know this time they were playing a married couple — though you would think they would have figured out by now that the ‘how long have you been married’ question is one that should be settled before they walk in the front door. 🙂
