15/17 Season Three, Episode 16: The Triumvirate-Scarecrow and Mrs King

So Billy and Lee have found the warehouse and are sneaking around looking for Amanda.. we hear voices in the distance.

Falkan: There’s no other way, Karl.
Eagles: I still don’t like it.
Webster says something inaudible .
[Ugh you lot are tedious! ‘I don’t like it!’ – reminds me of Delano not being happy about Hollander giving people injections..but did nothing to stop it.. wimps!]
Falkan: Give her the injection. [You give  it to her wimp!]

Lee has found them! And gets himself in position to reveal himself.
3.16 TT.avi_002460760
Eagles: Get it over with.
3.16 TT.avi_002461761
[You mean Webster has been drawing up that needle for the last five minutes? rofl..  maybe she’s very careful with air bubbles Winking smile which I always find funny when you are about to kill someone!]
Lee: OK, Falkan, drop it.
3.16 TT.avi_002462947
[Whoa.. Lee’s voice sounds hot. very hot right now (as Billy would say Winking smile ) in the big warehouse with amazing acoustics.. whooo let me hear that again…]
Lee: OK, Falkan, drop it.
[Dreamy!]
But… Falkan doesn’t think so (more fool him) he shoots at Lee and runs for it.
3.16 TT.avi_002464818
Eagles: Run!
Eagles pushes Webster, who starts running away
3.16 TT.avi_002466332
Eagles turns back to Amanda to release her hand cuffs.. umm..why?! 3.16 TT.avi_002468835
Maybe he thought Lee wouldn’t pursue him if he released Amanda? Yeah nah.. I can’t think of a good reason why! Can you?
Once the cuffs are off Eagles starts running..
3.16 TT.avi_002471338
So does Lee.. Gee I wonder who will win this race?!

Lee runs past Amanda after Eagles. As he does, Lee touches her on the arm and tells her: Stay put!
3.16 TT.avi_002472839
Lee keeps on running not waiting for her answer.
Amanda responds:
Yeah.
3.16 TT.avi_002474040
Now he knows Amanda is safe, Lee is 100% about catching the bad guys. I suspect in this moment Lee just wants to take Amanda in his arms.. but first things first… there are 3 cold blooded killers on the run here- they must be caught! Justice must be done!! Smile

I think Webster might be an administrator too.. she is wearing very noisy shoes as she tries to be stealthy! Umm.. then again so does Billy Winking smile
Lee has found Karl already? There’s a shocker Winking smile not!

Lee: Just stop, will you?
Eagles: Oh! All right, then. All right.
Lee handcuffs Eagles to the pipe.
3.16 TT.avi_002491558
Lee
:
I believe you know your rights. 3.16 TT.avi_002495562[Actually I suspect Eagles doesn’t… he seems to believe he has many  more rights than most people – the right to kill who he wants for a start! but whooo haaaa.. love how Lee breathlessly delivers this line!]
Lee runs off leaving pathetic Eagles beaten and cuffed to a pipe.
3.16 TT.avi_002498565
Quid pro quo Eagles! Smile Next the needle! and Next the furnace!!! errr.. okay.. maybe not.. Lee isn’t a member of the Triumvirate!
3.16 TT.avi_002506573
Falkan climbs up a ladder and shoots at Lee as he comes into view.
3.16 TT.avi_002507574
Good thing he’s a lousy shot.. Administrators! Winking smile He misses Lee and Lee shoots back.

Falkan runs.. Lee runs.. Falkan shoots.. they run some more.. Falkan then ‘runs’ out of bullets so throws his gun at Lee instead. lol.. Falkan runs off again.. I’m think this is stunt Lee.. or second unit Lee..

Back to Webster sneaking around.. Billy is sneaking too..

Billy surprises her.. She’s an Administrator!!!
Billy: Hold it right there. Drop the gun.
3.16 TT.avi_002546112
She follows his command.

We cut back to Lee as he catches up with Falkan- Lee grabs his jacket..
3.16 TT.avi_002550550
but Falkan wiggles out of the jacket and gets away..
3.16 TT.avi_002557357
He heads outside to climb around on some dangerous stuff. Yes.. I’m over it.. time to finish this up you lot!

Lee follows him out onto that dangerous stuff, but looks much more comfortable and manly Winking smile
Well.. the next thing you know.. Falkan is hanging over the side and Lee has him by the hand..
3.16 TT.avi_002584584
Ouchy looks like that hurt!
Falkan: Please, help me
He tries to hang on. Lying flat, Lee holds on to Falkan’s wrist, while bracing himself on the conveyor support with his other hand as Falkan dangles off the edge.
Falkan: Ohh! You gotta help me. You’ve gotta help me. We’re on the same side. We’re not criminals any of us. Uh, all we want is justice. That’s all. Answers. That’s all.
3.16 TT.avi_002591391
Lee
: Save your breath, Falkan.
[Ahhh what I wished Amanda had said to Eagles as he tried to justify himself.. it’s not worth listening to really!]
Falkan: Don’t drop me… ( Lee starts swinging him backwards and forwards. Falkan keeps moaning and shouting.)
3.16 TT.avi_002628028
What are you doing? Uh, uh, uh, oh, no! You can’t drop me! That’s murder! Please! Uh, uh… Please!
LOL lots of noises from Falkan here sounding like a wimp haaa..
Lee releases Falkan’s wrist.
3.16 TT.avi_002633633
We see Lee looking down..
3.16 TT.avi_002634634
Falkan drops into the sand in the back of the truck and sprawls out.
3.16 TT.avi_002636036
Is it awful that I find this kinda hilarious?!

I think this was suppose to be a big moment – whooooo will Lee let him die? Is he trying to let go of Falkan’s arm? why is he struggling like that? Or will he do what he can to save the bad guy? Is he like the Triumvirate? does he dish out justice as he thinks it should be? or does he follow the law?
They’ve shot it and edited it  so we can’t see the truck with dirt until Lee’s let go.. and then.. Ohhh hooray! Lee has kept his values intact! He hasn’t given in to the dark side! whahahahaaa.. He was trying to save Falkan all along! Teee heee.. Did anyone ever think that Lee was trying to kill Falkan?  I can’t say I ever did.. It never crossed my mind – but I can see that’s maybe what they were aiming for with the way this final sequence is cut.

So Falkan is humiliated… Now oh so small Falkan looks to have fallen into a box of kitty litter.. Smile
3.16 TT.avi_002636636
Lee runs back down the conveyor towards the warehouse..

We see Billy inside the warehouse leading Webster and Eagles outside, calmly at gunpoint..

Aaaaand yes.. I’m going to pause here. This post is big enough.. and we want to savour what’s just about to come – soooooo hold that thought everyone!!!
Anyone got any thoughts they’d like to share about this part of the episode? Did anyone ever really think Lee could murder Falkan? Can’t wait to hear from ya!!!

  1. While re-watching this ep tonight I discovered a blooper. It is not in the pictures above. When Lee releases Falcan’s wrist Lee (stunt Lee) is no longer wearing a wristwatch (43:46).

  2. It’s not captured here, but in one of the wide shots where Lee is hanging onto Falkan, before the dump truck appears, you can just make out a stunt air mattress below them, I noticed this the first time I watch this episode on DVD and I actually paused it and it is a stunt mattress!

  3. Oh I am so over this lame catch-the-bad-guy chase. Webster’s ear buttons look like they are from the Hubble Space Telescope 😱😱 IWSOD your comment about air bubbles and correct dosages made me giggle. Surely the best way is to just fill up the syringe to the max and stick it in!
Falkan…..had a not very big drop onto kitty litter 😂 and is completely incapacitated. Definitely a pencil pusher. No stamina 😆

    1. BitsyBeans, your comment about those ear bobbles looking like the Hubble Space Telescope had me rolling on the floor 🙂 ….these were some of the most descriptive comments I’ve read in a long time.

I love the double meaning of this..Stooge has a few meanings that work well here
a stooge is someone who is a person who is weak no?
and also someone who presents themselves as one thing, but is really something else!

  4. I really wonder how this trio managed for as long as they did. They honestly didn’t expect someone would be on their tail? Webster’s armed and Falkan probably is too. Instead they take five minutes to contemplate injecting her? She may not have known Jepard was no longer a threat, but I think Amanda could have outsmarted these three. Would have been funny to see Billy and Lee pull up to find Amanda safe and the three lying face down in the sand box. Amanda holding whatever she could find and use as a weapon to keep them from leaving.

    1. haaaaaaa. yep! no wonder they were paying Jepard to do the deed 😉

But then we wouldn’t have the compulsory action finale! 😉
and…. Lee has to have his heroic bring down the bad guy moment.

this idea of yours remind me of the end of A Class Act – where Amanda manages to accidentally take out the highly trained Russian Assassin.. Lee shows up freaking out at how Amanda could possible survive this confrontation to find Amanda has totally conquered her! 🙂
One other moment comes to mind.. when Amanda manages to take out oh so scary and dangerous Daisy in Reach for the Sky – she kicked Lee’s butt.. but.. she can’t handle Amanda with a car door 🙂 And.. Billy saw that one too! 🙂

      1. Oh yes, I’m always happy to see Lee in action (and magic jeans 😀 ) . And I do love what we got to see after Lee and Billy show up. What she did in dealing with Eagles was great. She’s better than those Triumvirate wimps though. Yes, A Class Act did cross my mind. I do like seeing Amanda get the best of some baddie. 🙂

  5. Oh gosh – you are too funny, iwsod! You had me chuckling all through this post!

These Triumvirate people are clueless. First, they leave the humongous front door to the warehouse open for easy access. Then Webster can’t operate a syringe – does she really need to be careful about the dose? Then Eagles takes the time to uncuff Amanda – as if he could have won a foot race with Lee. And there’s Webster’s shoes – yes, she is definitely a pencil pusher. And why doesn’t Eagles try to use his handcuff key to uncuff himself? Do all the handcuffs in the world have customized keys??? Falkan throws his gun at Lee? Seriously? Then he turns into a whiny little bugger. I believe tedious was the word you used, iwsod? So glad this scene is over. I can’t believe it took Lee this long to catch these guys. I guess he had to focus on the truly bad baddie first.

I have a vague recollection at being horrified at the thought that Lee would drop Falkan from that height the first time I saw this episode. Surely, Lee couldn’t kill the guy – he had to somehow pull him up and save him to preserve his all-American goodness! And then we see that Falkan only falls a short way into a cat litter box (you had me cracking up with that one!) and lives. Lee’s goodness is preserved!

Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed the post.. to be honest.. the kitty litter moment had me in hysterics!

ROFL your description of the clueless triumvirate is brilliant!

      1. Well, thanks! It never occurred to me to call what Falkan falls into a box of cat litter, but as soon as I read it in your post, I thought duh! That’s exactly what that looks like and I burst out laughing! I used to have cats, so I know! 😀

  6. I can actually remember what I thought when I saw the conveyor belt scene and I was quite shocked that Lee let Falkan drop. In fact I thought that Falkan had dropped to his death and I thought it was so unlike Lee and I didn’t like it. When, a few seconds later, I saw Falkan alive and well, I wondered why they had made such a thing about him letting go and Falkan begging. I think your theory sounds good and they were probably also trying to show what a coward Falkan was as well. I couldn’t see Jepard begging in a similar situation.

    1. Oh interesting!
Maybe Lee fans were not convinced he was about to kill Falkan, when watching this the first time.. but they were very confused about what was going on? Does that work better?

Haa yeah I think Jepard would be trying to negotiate a deal – he certainly couldn’t cry out ‘but I’m not a murderer!’ whahahaaa

  7. Apart from her fuggly earrings, Webster is quite stylishly attired and her hair style is great too. Unbelievably, Amanda looks like a pink frumpy sack of potatoes next to Webster.
Boo-hiss to the Wardrobe Dept for the way they dressed L&A in this episode. 😎

        1. I think this is the ultimate irony of the triumvirate. They believe they are the realists – who have resorted to making the hard choice to kill people in order to make the world a safer place.. but – they are administrators! They don’t know a thing really about the world they are acting in. These so called realists were truly kidding themselves 😉

I see the triumvirate as frustrated administrators.. Not being in the field, they didn’t get to see all the justice that was being done in general.. and they themselves were not able to act to bring about justice as administrators in any direct or tangible way.
I suggest to avoid future triumvirates forming, the agency release a weekly newsletter to all staff detailing all the justice that has been achieved over the last week.. being sure to mention how the administrators were essential to this process 😉 whahahaaa..
Plus, telling them to avoid any files or accounts titled ‘666’ 😉

I love your fashion Nark kiwismh! 🙂
I must say though.. I couldn’t care less about what Lee and Amanda are wearing when such a swoony phase in their relationship is taking place 🙂

Amanda could have been wearing the hair don’t and the ear buttons and I would have enjoyed many of the swoony scenes just as much 😉

      1. Iwsod, I hasten to add my fashion nark is reserved for SMK only. I wouldn’t be so rude as to comment negatively on anyone’s attire in real life.
Kiwismh gets rather cross at people who make negative personal comments about other people. 😡

        1. No worries Kiwismh – reading you loud and clear.. on JWWM it’s just a bit of fun.. in real life? it’s not done 🙂 I feel the same way. I’d never comment on RL fashions.. lol!
And agree – negative personal comments in RL is not a good look – I guess in SMK they are not real people and it’s just a bit of escapist fun.. please don’t reduce your nark Kiwismh – it would be missed! 🙂

      1. Matronly is right. I like her in pink, but other outfits are more flattering. I was thinking they set out to make her look even softer and more like the mother of 2 boys to further add to Karl’s distress over killing her.

  8. So many things to love in this scene. I love the female baddie with her purse hanging on her gun arm. I love the baddie running away and getting about twenty feet before he’s too out of breath to get any further. I love the baddie who throws his gun at Lee like a kid in a playground. However, my favourite part of this scene can’t be seen in the screen captures which is that the conveyor belt that they’re running around on is moving during the first part of the chase, and then Lee LIES DOWN across it to grab the baddie’s wrist. Fortunately Lee has magic jeans on which are magically unharmed in any way, not even by dirt streaks, when he stands back up. A conveyor belt moving across your nether regions must be mighty distracting when you’re trying to concentrate on dropping/not dropping a murderer, doncha think?

    1. Ouchy, ouchy. Lee must’ve stopped the conveyer belt somehow, or is he lying just off the conveyer.
The last thing we want is Lee’s nether regions to be imperilled. 😯
I shall leave it there before my graceful dive into the gutter becomes disgraceful. 😉

    2. LOL.. the magic conveyor belt huh good catch Janet!
[The conveyor belt was on Lee’s side 😉 ]

I’ll put this down to Lee pressing the off button.. then heading outside – so it um took a moment for the conveyor belt to come to a complete stop.. but by the time Lee was laying down it had stopped..

They are magic jeans.. no question.. and not just because of the magic conveyor belt 😉 tee hee..

    3. I noticed the purse, too, Janet! Webster doesn’t act like someone who’s used to using a gun!

ROFL, I didn’t notice that the conveyor belt was moving. I think when I watched this the first time, I was tipped off by the way Lee was swinging Falken back and forth that he had a plan to drop him someplace specific, which argued against just letting him go. Letting him fall to his death would have been easier under the circumstances, and taken quicker.

  9. I think the “Stay put!” line would have been hilarious if Eagles hadn’t released Amanda from the ‘cuffs. Maybe he thought Amanda would go all swoony and Lee would comfort her giving the tri-dum-dums a chance to escape.

    1. I thought it was more to show that Eagles wasn’t really a vicious killer, he had some good instincts/gentlemanly qualities. ie you always release a lady from her handcuffs (even if it delays your getaway), when the hit is cancelled.

      1. Eagles is such a bundle of contradictions – you may be right Michele!
He could be about kill a woman, and then a minute later untie her handcuffs to be a gentleman 😉
I can’t rule anything out when it comes to Eagles 🙂

        1. I think that Eagles letting Amanda free is supposed to show how conflicted he was about the whole idea of killing her. He was feeling forced into it by the other two (from the beginning of the scene he’s grousing about it) and now that they’ve run away, and he must know that he hasn’t much chance of outrunning Lee anyway, he’s doing what he wanted to all along but was too weak to do in the face of opposition. By letting Amanda free he’s at least giving her a fighting chance if one of the other two tries taking a shot at her.

          Liked by 2 people

          1. yeah that works.. really why should Eagles make sense? when the character himself isn’t making sense. lol.. it’s actually totally in character for him to be all over the place and contradicting himself with his words and actions 🙂

    2. I love this Cindy! I think it would have been hilarious!
Lee cries don’t go anywhere! – while Amanda is cuffed to the pole or whatever it is.. Amanda gives him a look like: I can’t even if I want to!

Then.. while Lee is off chasing the baddies, Amanda notices Eagles dropped the cuff keys when he took off running.. Amanda manages to get the key, uncuff herself..
And then Lee comes back to expect to see she has (for once) stayed put – only to find that….. even when cuffed.. she hasn’t stayed put 😉

      Liked by 1 person

    3. Maybe if Amanda was still cuffed, as Lee was passing by, she could have asked for his belt and then used it to get out of the cuffs herself. Wouldn’t that have been a moment?
