So we left things with Lee confronting Brody and then Brody trying to make a run for it. Yep.. Lee is actually chasing a gun toting bad buy through hospital corridors with civilian patients on gurneys in the way.. Aie..
You would think they would have had a few more staff on hand to close off the area or something.. where’s Duffy? Still guarding Lee’s room? 
I feel bad for that patient in between Brody with a gun and Lee with a gun! If he survives, he’s going to need some trauma therapy me thinks. Poor bloke!
Rofl yep that’s Lee taking cover on the left while poor hospital patient guy is stuck in the middle of the hospital corridor on his gurney- in quite a vulnerable position!
Brody puts some bullet holes in the wall and runs some more..
LOL Lee kinda shoves the poor patient’s gurney out of the way! [I guess he’s not on the barnstorm list! 
]
And takes off after Brody.
Brody heads down a corridor.. opens a door and finds a scary orderly in there..so he opens the door opposite and heads inside.. lol..
Lee follows.. and asks that very helpful nurse if Brody has a way out of there..
Lee: Is there any other exit?
Nurse: There’s only that one way.
She’s not silly – she takes off!
And Lee? He’s not silly.. knowing there’s no other way out of that room, and that Brody is cornered in there with a gun – Lee stands guard at the storage room door and waits for back up.. Errrr no.. wait.. actually that is not what Scarecrow does.. Ahem..

– Scarecrow opens the door and goes in there! rofl! Oh Lee.. this is really not your finest moment..
I will put this down to decision making with a head injury.. yes that’s it! because if this is about Lee being personally invested in that list – it doesn’t make his skills as a spy look too shiny- know what I’m saying?
Sure enough.. Lee opens the door and has to dive on the floor and across the room to avoid a bullet. Shocking!! I mean who would have guessed that Brody would like you know.. shoot at him?!
[seems the hospital has magical colour changing carpet also! Err carpet? in hospitals?]
Lee slides and hits his head on a gas bottle. Oh dear.. his poor melon! Concussion number two! Mind you.. I don’t think it will make a difference he was already not functioning well
Lee struggles to his feet –he needs to hang on to the shelving there to get onto his feet. Oh dear..
It’s clear even to Brody that Lee is in trouble..
I confess.. I find this kinda hard to watch.. Lee looks to me like a weak fool.. Which Lee certainly isn’t! these blasted writers! Curse them!! What about you guys?
Lee: Give it up. Just give it up Brody… [because I said so!]

[Ohhh dear.. so then why did you go in there Lee??!! ]
Lee aims at Brody sort of hiding behind a shelf.. Aie..
Why doesn’t Lee have some back up?!
Lee’s vision is blurry..

Lee shoots at Brody but misses [another shock!].
Get out of there Lee and close the door behind you!!
Ohhhhh more torture..

Brody laughs at Lee’s aiming his gun and getting nowhere..

Lee pulls the shelving down – I guess to give himself some cover?? Brody shoots at Lee and misses.. why I don’t know. lol..
Gah! I think Lee may have just hit his head again on the wall. Concussion three!
Someone give this guy a helmet before he permanently thinks like the scarecrow! (err before his doctor in thinkology or whatever it was)
Body shoots again.. (cool shot! haaaa get it?! )
Brody tosses down a few more shelves and makes an escape through the door.
uh oh.. Amanda is outside.. Yeah this plan is getting better and better..
As Brody leaves he finds Amanda approaching…he aims his gun at her..
Amanda’s shocked.. but she collects herself and bravely braces herself (good for you Amanda)
Brody is about to shot…
… suddenly Lee lets out a primal roar and lunges at Brody.
[whoooo suddenly appearing wall behind Lee there in the storage room]
Okay – so here is where we get to see Lee looking heroic.. aie..
Lee tackles Brody, and is much more successful with the hand to hand combat..
whack. Punch. Brody is disarmed.. Lee wins. Hoo flippin ray..
phew.. put me out of my misery!
A bit like the story line of this episode, the premise of this action sequence and poor planning hasn’t been top smk shelf smk for me…(so much for highly trained agents plan everything and leave nothing to chance.. that must just be when it comes to pick up lines! anyone remember the episode??!!). What saves this ep is the Lee and Amanda goodness (Or.. Lee and Amanda Plot Putty!).. and it is very good! 🙂
The best part of this action sequence? Lee’s hair gets mussed grrrr!
Amanda rushes over to help Lee..
For a moment Lee looks up at Amanda.. Just for a second.. but it’s lovely to see he is, I think, happy to see her and have her there! 
Lee: Here.
Lee locates the contact lense in Brody’s briefcase.
Heroic Lee has saved the day – gotten his list back.. stopped the baddie and all with a triple concussion. Let’s just skip the part about how this was all just a really poorly planned bad idea Lee’s a hero!
(At that moment, other guards finally come along and pick up Brody..)
[lol.. other guards exist?!
Hey is Lee holding two canisters? I mean he now has both the lenses? Brody brought the other lense with him? Dumb baddie! You’d think he would have kept the lenses separate (lol like Lee should have kept the family separate!) It could have been a handy bargaining tool.. Oh well.. thank goodness for dumb baddies!
Amanda helps Lee up- well I guess it’s more that Lee grabs hold of Amanda to ask for her help to get up..Significant this!! (but a guard blocks the view. booooo)
I guess this shows Lee is still not well.. but extreeeeemely heroic.. and seems to have accepted that he needs help. Hoorah! ]
…Come on.
Ohhhh Billy was there giving the guards a hand too.. lol.. where was Francine in all this? She have the day off?
Amanda: Be careful. Are you alright?
Lee holds the lenses in his hand – clearly he’s moved to have it back.. and all the lives of the people who trust him are safe again [okay so destroy the flippin list already!]
Lee: Yeah, I’m fine.
Amanda: Okay.
Lee: Barnstorm is alive and well.
Awh….
Amanda: Yeah.
Still leaning on Amanda, they walk off together – triumphant!!! What a team!!!
It’s really lovely to see them wander off with Lee leaning on Amanda for support.. it’s kinda what you hope you’ll see one day when you’re watching The First Time! Fully a team, fully welcoming.. and it’s wonderful to see!!!
We’re getting the pay off now of all those years of hoping and waiting these two would get their individual acts together.. so they can come together as a team – and as a couple.
For me, it’s the best flippin part of this dog’s breakfast of an action finale – this show always does the Lee and Amanda relationship well
As it fades to black here.. we can see that in front of Lee and Amanda, Brody is being led away by the guards and Billy and – lol I think that’s Duffy too!
Where were they all when Lee was in the storage room
taking on the baddie with triple concussion alone??!!! lol!!
So what happened to Neumann and the whole idea that the Germans were after the list? Let me guess.. Lee told Neumann I don’t have it – and then Neumann believed him? lol why doesn’t that work when it’s Amanda saying it? You know.. like the place is surrounded!! lol.. not that I mind not seeing Neumann again.. [the script had Neumann getting run over by an ambulance – maybe that explains his sudden vanishing? i.e. the rewrite wasn’t followed through..]
Well, I’ll pause here for now. No need to rush the Tag.. looking forward to hearing what you all thought of this!

As a self-appointed GOLD (Guardian of Lee’s Dignity) representative, I find these whole scene positively irredeemable! Iwsod, I’ll add my thanks too for making this worth the read! I giggled all the way through it. That guy on the gurney, now really, that had to be quirky SMK humor resurfacing. (Think how well that would have fit into S1.) Maybe that was someone’s way of warning the viewer that this scene was definitely not to be taken too seriously. I find it totally cringeworthy in spite of my love for this episode.
LOL, Learjet, “idiotically pleased” — yep, that describes Lee’s look perfectly. Guess it’s time I quit rubbernecking and move along to the tag.

It’s quite miraculous actually.. Love heals! Because Lee’s triple concussion has suddenly healed.. or heck maybe Lee was rejuvenated by whacking Brody senseless.. I know that would work for me! 🙂

I have to agree. This scene is difficult to watch, to say the least. But I loved every line of your commentary, Iwsod, especially the picture of a pouty Lee pointing the gun. The only mental gymnastics I can do to make this scene bearable is to tell myself that lee really must be terribly bad off with his concussive blows to the head. Poor guy. Someone take him home and put him to bed!
I do however like the roar that he makes as he lunges at Brody in the hall. I have to tell myself that he can focus on the fact that Brody has Amanda in his sites with his gun and even though Lee couldn’t focus on anything in that little storage room, this brought him clarity, even for one brief moment. And of course, I love the way he looks to Amanda and holds on to her in order to walk out of the hospital. He sure has embraced a partner and become interdependent. Ahh!

Brody maybe a mastermind at brokerage but his shooting skills suck. Couldn’t hit Lee at close quarters?!!! Lame.
Only redeeming thing is the closeness between Lee and Amanda…..bring on the tag!

Lee and Amanda look so cute and snug walking out of there, I’m choosing to ignore the storage room circus act. I just read BJo’s and Raffie’s comments on post 9 about Lee and Amanda and the Triumvirate link, which also helps. 😉
Did Brody get hit in the head too? That was some pathetic shooting. Or maybe, while the writers, producers and directors were at the bar writing that scene, in the fiction world of SMK, Brody was out having a few.

Following Brody in to the room after checking that there is no exist is classic SMK. Thank you Iswod for this masterly and hilarious catalogue of errors. I really enjoyed it.
We really have to commend the agency for creating an elaborate hoax complete with doctors, operating tables, medical jargon and special blend in dressing gown and pj’s for Lee (a scenario I think its called) but forgetting to get back up agents!

To try and make sense of Lee’s risky actions (in any episode), I always revert to using his deep sense of keeping others from harm – he would rather take all the danger himself than expose anyone else to danger. Not really a good trait in an agent.
The only other thing I can think is that his hair is too long and is affecting his ability to think smart and act smart like S2 European Lee. It’s certainly affecting his dress sense!
And, what is worse, he is now seriously in danger of that hairdo developing into a mullet! 😯
This won’t do Stetson – get your act together now or you’ll be doing porridge in the Fashion Police cells. 😎

Are we supposed to assume that Lee somehow knew that Brody was pointing his gun at Amanda given the primal nature of Lee’s scream? I don’t see how he could have seen her. And she didn’t make a peep. Perhaps Lee recognized the gait of her footfalls on that lovely (eeew is right!) hospital carpet? Maybe the concussion heightened Lee’s sense of hearing.

I’m not sure what happens here. I note that Lee has a nice little red hospital band around his wrist (is it on sale on ebay??) and he looks idiotically pleased about the contact lenses (maybe he’s lost the use of a few brain cells with those extra concussions?) Anyway, I’m glad we’ve seen the last of those lenses. Bring on the tag!

Agree with everything you have so eloquently and humorously written which echo’s Iswod’s brilliant sharp and funny write up. There is nothing in this segment that could make any sense to any one. This one was definitely written, directed and produced after a very drunken night out! Love Lee’s ‘primal’ scream as Amanda’s meanders down the corridor oblivious to the gun shots and general chaos. This is how the top agents do it!

Oh I know!!!!!!! but.. (iwsod admits guiltily) I still got a bit of a thrill from it when I first watched this ep – Lee unleashes when Amanda is threatened!!! roar!!!!! Lee could probably see Brody was aiming the gun at someone.. but.. his feelings for Amanda are ohhh so strong that the tips of his ears twitch when Amanda is in danger. Yes this triple concussion has unleashed a new psychic connection.. ahem..
