Terry: Guess they weren’t too hot at dodging bullets.
Sandra: Your father always took chances. Some things never change.
[I imagine it’s a relief for Sandra to be able to talk about his father to Terry.. ]
King Eddie: Yes, and some things do. Did you ask your Mom?
Sandra: Ask me what?
Terry: Well, the King –
(Terry catches himself and smiles.. Eddie smiles a little too.) [Awh!]
Terry corrects himself: …Dad – wants me to come to Cap D’Far. I’d really like to go, Mom.
Sandra: For how long?
Terry: A week, in June.
King Eddie: Yes, the surfing is rotten the rest of the year… [rofl it’s only good for one week in June? 
]
(to Sandra): …What are you doing in June?
Terry watches his mum smile a big smile.. 
[do you think he is wondering if his folks will reconnect?!]
And they all smile!

Eddie catches sight of Billy.. and gives him a hearty hello.. lol.. 
Eddie is certainly an expressive guy!

Just off to the side, Lee and Amanda join them. 
Whooo see Lee’s arm around Amanda?!!
Billy: Sorry Eddie, Billy Bluenote is retired.

Billy quietly: No way, man, no way. 
Eddie goes to blow his own trumpet.. ahem.. [get it?!]
I think Eddie might be partly serious!
Billy looks over at Lee.. with a smile.. I’m thinking yes way. You? I think Billy just needed an excuse to keep playing 
We see Lee smiling at Billy Blue Note.. Amanda watches Lee.
Lee looks back at Amanda.. 
They both look at Billy. Aie. they’re such a couple! Get together already!!! 
I gotta say, Lee especially is looking very happy with life at the moment!
We get a quick edit, to find Billy not resisting the blackmail.. at all! [errr for the sake of all that tantalum! ahem.. ]
Lee from the audience calls out: 
Lee: I see you took a firm stand, Billy Bluenote… Nice work.
(Lee gives Billy a thumbs up)
[rofl! this shot is hilarious!!!! I think Lee is drunk on Love!!]
Oi! My oh my! what’s going on here??!!!! Just look at how they are sitting together. she’s practically on his lap, enveloped in his arms.. in front of Billy??!!! I’ll come back to this..
Billy: If we’re going to keep diplomatic relations with Cap D’Far, you’re gonna have to learn how to play this thing.
I’m thinking Lee looks pretty content just the way he is!
Everyone gives Billy’s comment a round of applause.
King Eddie: One, two, three.
Eddie and Billy happily play.. 
Okay- now here is some trumpet face!
And we cut back to Lee and Amanda.. enveloped together again.
Amanda turns to look at Lee.
So Lee turns to look at Amanda.
And.. Iwsod turns to Jelly. [hwo abuot yuo?]
Amanda quietly: I got a feeling everybody’s going to live happily ever after.
While Amanda manages to string together a coherent sentence here… [she’s my hero.. taking a bullet is nothing.. try doing this while Lee gives you that look?! That’s tough!!]
As Amanda says this, Lee takes his time and looks at Amanda’s mouth.
Gah! Kiss her! Kiss her! He’s thinkin it..
While you’re transfixed by Lee watching Amanda’s mouth – did you see what their hands are doing while Amanda talks?!!
Their fingers are mingling and playing! oh my.. Hooooo Haaaa!
Okay.. seems Lee looks at her lips twice. [yes I can manage to count to two in these circumstances. Just.] He didn’t look at the boudoir magazine twice!! 
They’re fingers are dancing cheek to cheek! [I always wanted to see them dance again!]
They smile at each other and Amanda leans in.. oh yes.. oh my.. Lee looks at her mouth again! yes one plus two times! (Iwsod can no longer do the maths!) bhugahabnsbawhbaobh
Okay, I can see Amanda is now showing that same contentment and joy – how lovely! 
She is freely showing it to Lee too
Not to mention her talk of happily ever after. You don’t get more committed to forever than that no?
I didn’t think it possible.. but Lee’s grin gets bigger
Lee turns back to Billy to enjoy the show.. and Amanda enjoys the show right next to her just a little longer.
Can’t say I blame her.

The episode ends with BBN playing his saxophone When I stop and think about it, this episode tells us quite a bit about Billy.. no?
Life’s good! Everyone is happy! Crowley got shot hooray! Beige baddie was so beige he actually become entertaining! and diplomatic relations with Cap D’far are very healthy indeed! Overall, I’ve enjoyed this ep! I wouldn’t rank it a favourite, but there are some favourite moments for sure! thoughts?
Will Sandra and Eddie get back together? I admit, I’m relieved there is no overt mention of this.. that would have been way too OTT fairy tale for me! C grade Grace Kelly and Prince Rainer! I think it’s left open as a possibility..
What do you think?
Would all that Miles Davis and sand still be too much for Sandra? Hmm.. nothing is certain.. except it seems Eddie and Terry have a chance to build a relationship now.. and Lee and Amanda- what are they building?!
I can’t believe how intimate and expressive they are here!! I guess we really didn’t see them much all episode.. and it was building up to this!
I wonder if they are so expressive because they are in public and can’t fully take the leap here and kiss and change everything? Though really.. things are seeming pretty changed anyway no?
Do you ask yourself what’s holding them back now?
I can imagine if I was watching this first airing I would have been screaming at the tv – they’re gonna kiss!!!! and.. Nope.. no kiss! but.. There is still plenty to enjoy… and it seems like any time now they are gonna take that plunge.

But she hadn’t said that yet earlier when they were standing there with their arms around each other?! Sort of?? Gah.. maybe it’s just me but it still seems too out of the blue. I wonder if something has happened with the episode order here. It’s very much in the back of my mind.. But.. I can’t really form a view on it till I’ve seen to the end of season 3. I don’t really remember what’s still to come in season 3.
Okay had to look it up. There are three more episodes to go till the end of season 3. Wow!!! Not many!!
I can totally see Lee and Amanda stopping off at Cap D’far sometime for some surfing. ahem. And.. attending the coronation of Terry.. while rubbing it in to Francine.. ahem. Sorry I digress. that’s as close as I get to fan fic!

Coming back to my thoughts from WN regarding ep order. TBTCBK immediately after WN feels like a too big step forward for A&L. The last ep Lee was rude, dimissive even though later he praised Amanda’s work. But from that too co-signing a loan is an even bigger jump forward than Lee’s backward one in WN. For me the tag also doesn’t fit directly after WN. As in my personal ep order I placed WN earlier this isn’t an issue anymore for me. Still I think TBTCBK should belong after at least one more upcoming ep which is TLS. I am rather undecided regarding DMLNT before or after TBTCBK. I like it both ways. As this is just my personal order for watching you all are free to disagree.

I feel that ‘Wrong Number’ was a missed opportunity. Watching some shows these days, you can sometimes see when men are getting too close and start getting argumentative and standoffish in order to deal with the emotions they may be feeling. But that’s not what we got. Lee’s been dealing with his feelings for a while. Wrong Number should have gotten an overhaul. We would have forgiven Lee for being a cranky pants.

Woah, woah, woah! Something just occurred to me after rewatching this episode again! You know that “happily ever after” comment nobody could really focus on, what with all the fantastic visuals in that scene? Well, aside from the fact that it fits with the whole royalty/fairytale storyline I bet this episode was supposed to be the season finale! (And potential series finale if the show maybe didn’t know yet if it was going to get a 4th season?). I’ve been so focused on the tag from ATWAS being the end of the season, and then trying to figure out how to fit this tag with the rest of season 3 AND what I know about season 4, and I just couldn’t get it worked out no matter where I tried to put it in the episode order. But if I pretend season 4 doesn’t exist (which it didn’t at the time) and let go of my attachment to ATWAS being the season finale, this one would actually make perfect sense there! “Happily ever after” comes at the END of a story. And if you’re at the end, then who cares how open you’re being or who sees your relationship? That said, I can totally see why TPTB would have switched them, though, especially if season 4 had maybe been approved in between filming and airing?. TBWCBK is sweet, but ATWAS packs a better emotional punch, thus a better chance of the audience tuning in for the next season.

Interesting idea. But with having the episodes on DVD one could conceivably ignore the seasons and put all the episodes in an order that make more with regards to the progression of Amanda and Lee’s relationship.

I actually have always really enjoyed this episode. I love Billy, and I love music. So I enjoyed Billy’s musical element and the jazz component as a whole. King Eddie is so likeable to me and makes me laugh everytime he says “BBN”. 😁 I enjoy that he reconnects with his ex-wife and his son. (I do cringe at her wardrobe choice of the belted overalls – strange choice for a previous soap opera actress.) I love the opening with Lee and Amanda’s conversation right in front of Mrs. Marsden, and I love that Marvelous Marvin’s gets thrown in, and Francine’s experience with the king. And I completely love this tag. Those entwined fingers plus the looks and the dimples just make my heart flutter.
I love Morley’s season 3 order, so I watched this after Three Little Spies and before DMLNT. It is a really beautiful flow to the end of the season. Thanks, Morley! 😊

Whenever I watch this tag, I have to watch it three times. Once for Lee, once for Amanda and once for their hands. Their hands have always expressed their emotions, even from the very beginning and now it seems they have set them free. And, even though that sweater is a fuzzy blur to our 21st century eyes, I bet you anything Lee will be dreaming about that soft feel all night, he sure got a handful of it.
It amazes me how open they are here, unabashed right in front of Billy. Something must have been said between them (episode order again). But I always view Amanda’s openness here as a response to the cosigning. Maybe they had just come from the Agency business office after the signing?
And I do like the way they keep Eddie and Sandra’s future open. It isn’t corny that way. But I see a transition in both couples, from dream to reality. Loans are concrete things, and children are concrete parts of a relationship as well. Neither of the couples are dealing in fantasy any longer, they have their feet on the ground (gull guano or not) and they are dealing in reality now.
Ah it feels good to be back here in the rabbit hole.

That little moment at the end is one of my favorites from the whole series, but I’ve always found it inconsistent. Right in front of Billy? Doesn’t seem right. But I’ll take it anyway

I can think of a few other times they’ve held hands. I’m not quite sure when it started, but I think that Lee might have started it when he took Amanda’s hands at the princess’s party in Waiting for Godorsky, back in season 1.

Lee did take Amanda’s hands as a way to comfort her in Remembrance of Things Past after she was shoved in that hotel bathroom. He held on for a bit there.

I guess when asking when have they held hands, us smk scholars (yes, go on laugh!) can take this to a whole new level. Is hand holding when someone touches another’s hand? grabs it? and let’s it go?! Is running away from bad guys included? 🙂 two hands? or just one? There are so many different forms of the hand hold, and we’ll find them ha!
This reminded me of another comfort moment. Lee holds Amanda’s hand to comfort her when they are captured in Utopia Now, Amanda is worried about her mother worrying. Lee taps her hand with his thumb like he is patting her to reassure her. I remember trying to catch images of the thumb pat there.

Even though RL is a little crazy right now, I take little mental health breaks to keep the stress down. Later this week I will have a little down time and would like to try a hand hold post if that’s okay. This whole conversation is sparking a few ideas.

I know what you mean by mental health breaks to keep stress down. This is such a wonderful distraction and conversation. IMHO, I always felt their hand holding for whatever reason, the way he put his arm around her, and just the way they looked at each other was sometimes so much more romantic. If you have time to do the post, I know I would really enjoy reading it. Wish I had more time for that.

There is also that little hand touch in Geisterschloss in the cafe. We debated about whether or not Lee’s thumb got involved, but I always thought their hands were expressing something that they were not completely in touch with yet.

Seeing this scene in screencaps (as well as many of my other fave scenes from other eps) along with the commentary about them really opens up a whole new way of seeing them both from my own perspective and the perspective of the characters. BB and KJ do SUCH an excellent job conveying the feelings, thoughts and emotions of their characters, not just here, but ALL the time EVERY time. That is one of the reasons this show is still being talked about 30 years after it went off the air!
Now … if you’ll excuse me, I am going to put in my DVDs and rewatch all these eps again 😉

This is one of those scenes that you just have to rewind and go over and over again to capture all the wonderful swoony goodness that is Lee and Amanda together. The extreme hand-holding and finger play just got to me. A few months ago, I was reading a review of an episode of a show I watch. In the episode the two main characters had been apart for some time and when they finally got back together they were clinging to one another’s hands and there was a lot of finger play, just like in this scene. The reviewer referred to it as hand sex. It was sort of out of character and in character at the same time. I thought of that when I saw this scene again.
When I first watched this I wondered why they were so out there and overt in front of Billy. There is the possibility as stated by learjet, that Billy would not have seen everything due to the lights on the stage. However, would Lee and Amanda know that or even be aware of that fact? I think in some ways they were so wrapped up in one another (literally and figuratively) that they may have been just a bit careless. In Wrong Number, Amanda started to touch Lee when he credited her with the “agent of record”, but then remembered where she was. But here they are away from the Agency and they are relaxed and comfortable and doing something that has become natural to them. However, if Francine had been present I think we would have had a different tag, so thank goodness for her absence.
That being said you wonder just where they are in terms of a relationship. It’s been so back and forth this season. When Utopia Now happened I was like, “finally, it’s going to happen” but then no, we got sucker punched on that one. And then it’s been up and down, back and forth, what it the world is going on?, ever since then. I remember lots of yelling at the TV and ending an episode in bitter disappointment, because nothing happened. And yet, I kept coming back for more. I agree that the episode order was kind of a mixed bag and all over the place. Can’t wait for that discussion.

I am also in the camp where this was quite riske on their part, not only because of Billy, but what about Terry and his mom? They knew Lee and Amanda worked for the agency, and when Lee spoke, if you look at the caps, Terry’s mom was looking around at them.
I think what happened here is their feelings are so strong now that they just … in certain situations, bubble to the surface and they cant help it.

Awwww thanks 🙂 I am sorry I am so late to some of the other posts, I only recently found this site (and the forum, Ned’s) and I am addicted to JWWM I have to say, whenever I dont have time to pop in the DVDs, I pop in here and read the walkthroughs of my fave eps! I know I am not alone when I say god bless you for taking the time to do this, as an avid SMK fan for many years I can’t express my thanks enough!!!!!
Also I try REALLY REALLY hard not to jump ahead of the episode we are walking through (and the post we are on), but I have season 3 on DVD, and it’s really hard LOL (thank GOD for Ned’s!!!!!) because I get excited and go off on a ramble … kind of like Amanda LOL.
I will revisit the order and why I think they should have been that way when the time is right. You might have to remind me, though, LOL.

Thank you so much for the incredible screen shots of them holding each others hands (pressing their palms together maybe?) in this blog post. I was rewinding, pausing, rewinding, pausing trying to figure out what they were doing I am walking through this with everyone. Good thing I can now watch this digitally. I broke two VCRs and took the third one apart because I could not afford another at the time doing this 30 years ago. LOL! I loved reading everyone comments and I agree seeing this again that their level of intimacy does seem out of place; however, wonderfully swoony. It was just so darn quick like so many of the scenes I have been watching recently as I try and catch up. If I blink because I am swooning, I think I miss half it.
I don’t know if anyone has already mentioned this, and if it has been said already and I missed it, I apologize. I was just curious if Billy, in real life, could play the saxophone. I found on Wikipedia that he was a musician.
The comments in the blog also reminded me of a line from Romeo and Juliet in the first act. (I am ugly duckling geeky bookworm and was spending a lot of time with my humanities college required class at the time.)

I think back in the day the idea was to ramp up the love interest every few episodes to keep the viewers coming back for more. The powers that be at the time clearly didn’t trust the show’s ability to sustain viewer numbers based on the natural slow progression of the relationship. So, may be a bit of deliberate re-ordering happened so that 1 out of every 3 or 4 episodes had a sufficient “swoon factor” to keep the audience hooked for the next few episodes. (Did they even need to worry about that, since most of us have clearly been hooked for more than 30 years?! 😉 )
I like this scene and the earlier L&A scenes around co-signing for the loan – those scenes are what makes this episode worth watching. But I do feel this level of “commitment” and intimacy doesn’t quite fit unless they are on the absolute verge of being completely open with each other about their feelings for each other.

It makes sense.. but it still feels like a bit of a jolt.
After having read everyone’s comments, I’m thinking what makes it a bit of a jolt is that there is no sense of newness here.
They (in my view) look comfortable and like they are really enjoying each other. yes they know each other well. but they don’t know this romantic/physical part of each other you know? And they don’t know yet what it is like to actually take this relationship into romantic territory.

I feel like I’ve missed something, or this should have a hint of hesitancy and newness.. anticipation.. maybe some wonder thrown in too.
For me, I’m not seeing that here. They are just totally into each other. it’s like they’ve already taken that step.
Oh heck. I’m not great at all this lovely dovey stuff and I wonder if I’m making any sense.
When Lee holds Amanda so close and looks at her lips, I don’t see hesitancy or uncertainty. He doesn’t kiss her because it’s not a kissing location you know?

You are right, I don’t see hesitancy here in this scene, but I did see it in Amanda in the co signing scene in the Agency foyer. That makes me think that Lee was settled about what he wants with Amanda from the beginning of this episode and Amanda still was not sure of him. Her insecurity then was taken care of by now though. And I wonder if the “newness” is present here because they are rather unaware of the people around them as their fingers play. I can believe that they haven’t kissed yet here, because of how eagerly their hands are kissing for them. But it wouldn’t take much for either of them to seize the moment, if they can grab one.
But this can’t have happened right after Wrong Number, that is too much of a jump, especially for Lee. Something had to have happened to get him from the tag in Wrong Number to being able to cosign a loan. And I would think that if lee had offered to cosign after Wrong Number, Amanda may not have been able to receive it after his questionable behavior towards her in that episode. Even though he had come around by the end of it, he had still flipped on her earlier, “fantasy theories”, and Billy only giving her the assignment to humor her. If I were Amanda I would want a little more evidence of respect and affection before I become beholden to him with the cosigning of a loan. I don’t think Amanda would need much more because I think she really does believe that lee is a good man, but after her history with Joe, I would think she would need just a tad more confirmation before going forward like that.
It will be interesting to see if we can find the missing piece in the next few episodes. I think I have, but I wonder what the rest of you will think.

I could totally see this episode AFTER “All the World’s a Stage” seeing how casual and comfortable they are with each other! Her driving the Vette, the way they look at each other when they’re discussing King Eddie with Terry’s mom. And they are all up on each other at the end. It’s just so unexpected with where that episode is in the airing order!!

Oh boy – and there you have it – the scene that makes this whole episode completely worth watching. I find this to be one of the funnier episodes post S1. I remember watching this the first time and thinking surely Lee is going to kiss her here! Their faces were so close! And when the credits started I’m sure I let out a big groan or wanted to throw a foam brick at the tv. What a tease!!! This does not feel right for these two based on what we’ve seen to date. I don’t like to get into episode order, so I’ll stop there, but I’m sure those who do and come up with a better order will have this episode further back in S3 or maybe even later.

This ending is so cute and filled with swooniness (yes I know that’s not a word auto-correct, but it’s a word in smkland!), that I can ignore that it absolutely does not fit where L&A seem to be at the moment. I always thought it came a little bit out of the blue when put in this order, but hey, it’s still lovely bit of affection 🙂 runs down the rabbit hole gripping her chocolate, all the better to swoon and rewind this scene a few more times

I love reading the walk, and I don’t always get to comment but today I have time!
This ending feels like it should be later in their relationship. I mean they are doing more than discreetly holding hands. You guys are bigger experts than me so I was wondering if we can list the times we have seen them “hold hands ” so far. I can think of the elevator scene when Amanda is going into hiding in Triumvirate. She grabs his hand but won’t look at him. And maybe walking to the house in Sour Grapes? Where else? Utopia now- running? They don’t hold hands at the almost kiss.
This kind of holding hands- so obvious to everyone around- especially Billy- is not a good fit for their relationship at this point. i have trouble believing the actors would have been so obvious with the handholding unless… Well unless there was a discrepancy between filming dates and airing dates of season three. Maybe we should discuss that after we finish walking through season 3. 🙂

Although I’m more accepting of the hand-holding than other commenters, I’d just like to put forward a theory about Billy seeing all this. Because he’s on stage, he’s got lots of bright lights above his head, presumably the audience is in (at least relative) darkness and he probably can’t see
L & A (let alone the cuddling).
This episode does seem a bit of a jump from the previous episode, but considering the acceleration in the relationship in TT and TEHI, I would argue that it’s not implausible.

I had the same thought, Learjet. Billy may not be seeing everything where he is. Plus, he hasn’t played in a long time. I played the flute all during school (even made it to second chair in high school and in college, but I would fumble through Mary Had a Little Lamb today). Fortunately for me, there were usually nine or ten other flautists up on stage who would carry the piece if I wasn’t as confident on a section of music. Billy’s the solo sax I doubt he’s even thinking about Lee and Amanda. I also suspect he knows (as I mentioned in other comments).

Yes, I’ve spent lots of time waving at my kids when they’re on stage to reassure them that I’m there, only to realise that they can’t see a thing beyond the stage 😀
But I agree with everyone that Billy probably knows which way the wind is blowing Leewards.

They also held hands in flight to freedom – not as part of a cover.
They’ve held hands a few times as part of a cover I think.

There was a lot of hand holding discussions in Flight to Freedom, because I think we began to see a change in the hand holding. It felt like it went from being a cover to something they naturally felt like doing. There was that “what are you doing with that lint-picker?” hand hold in The Times They Are Changing episode. For some reason I like that one. There’s no one to see them so they don’t need a cover, and no one is chasing them. It’s kind of like a jealous Lee hand hold.

I have seen a suggested episode order that orders these in increasing levels of “cuddliness” and I have to say I kind of agree with it. We can discuss that order later when we get closer to the end of S3 – which is looming large now! Way too excited squeeing
I remember some of these are the tags are what kept me hanging on in my youth that maybe they really really would get together sooner rather than later. Swoon

I liked this episode. As usual, I don’t really care much for the plot, just the characters, and I liked the Eddie character and even Sandra and Terry. I loved the tag, and I don’t remember but I bet it really warmed my 16-year-old heart when it first aired. But it is kinda out of the blue. I don’t know if it is true for SMK, but I know a lot of TV shows back then used different writers for many of the episodes and I feel like it makes it disjointed. The relationship between Lee and Amanda seems to start and stop and be inconsistent.
BTW, driving over to Georgetown tomorrow and I’ll be sure to pass by IFF and wave!

Yes maybe different writers is at play here. I think I’ll have a better idea once the season is finished. We do know they adjusted the ep orders at times.. so I’m also wondering if that’s what is at play here..

I’m sitting here right now with the biggest, silliest smile on my face after watching all the swoony goodness.
And yes, I watched their fingers dance from the first viewing ever! Sometimes it’s nice to watch the eps without sound. Makes you focus on the entire picture.
Btw, this was the episode in the works when I encountered this blog. I’m very much looking forward to continuing the walk with you guys!

‘French speaking swashbucklers’ yes, I think so. I was talking to the husband of one of my cousins recently, he was born and reared in London but his father is French and his mother from a French speaking country. His accent is exactly like King Eddies. (I really like it in both of them).
Once again Iswod, I have enjoyed the walk though this episode which I like despite all the plot problems and ‘beige-ness’ (the beige baddy with the arms up obediently was a particular high spot). Perhaps because of all the plot craters, I found this walk even more funny than usual.
I think that I like the episode because it is very upbeat and with goodness(like Billy and the King, Terry and both his parents etc). It is has more of the ‘family ‘ feel,that the programme used to have even if it is a very Amanda light episode.
I love the harmony and excitement between Lee and Amanda but I do find the last scene a bit strange. Leaving aside the fact that it feels as if we missed something, I don’t like that she is in his ‘lap’, during a concert. It looks a bit contrived and unnatural to me. The handholding and the looks are perfect (imo) but the rest is a bit over the top’.

Hmmm…I wonder if they took care of Amanda’s loan situation? Maybe that happened between the last scene and this one? I’d agree there could have been a conversation or scene we missed. But that aside, I love this scene too. It feels like the pressure is off enough for them to be more expressive toward each other. I’ll admit I never noticed the smile from Lee during the last scene when he says he told her to stay in the car. That bridges things a little better in my mind, but I do see your point.

And there could well be a little golden nugget of a scene that never made the cut or perhaps KJ and BB were just annoyed at having so little interaction in the, they decided to ramp up the little bit they had!!

If the founders of Cap D’Far were really former pirates, that would explain the mixing of names, accents, and language. A pirate crew could be made up of different nationalities. Something tells me that even if King Eddie filled out that form for the encyclopedia, most people who read it would assume it was a joke entry. 😉

After I thought about it, I remembered reading somewhere about deliberate false entries in reference books. Sometimes, encyclopedias, atlases, and other reference books make them as a trap for plagiarists.

Actually, I think going to this little concert may be a date and not an Agency event related to the case. Maybe Lee even presented going as a “date”.? That might open them up to such affection.

The only thing in this scene that keeps me from collapsing into a boneless mass of swooniness is Sandra’s ear-buttons. The vile colour and metallic shininess makes Amanda’s S2 abominations look quite tasteful.
Back to the main event – I obviously like this scene as my avator attests (thanks, KC 🙂 ). It does remind me of the “can’t keep your hands of each other and don’t care or even notice who sees you” stage of a new relationship. It’s just so sweet (even to a cynic like me). It makes me believe in fairytales…..

Yeah, way to keep your growing relationship under wraps in front of your boss!. Ahem. Because of this tag there has been talk of an episode re-order for the end of season 3. I haven’t made my mind up yet, it looks like I’ll have to watch the following episodes several times to make up my mind. 🙂

This makes me think that they know that Billy knows they are already a couple or on their way to becoming a couple outside of work. That says it definitely needs a reordering. I think Billy already knows it, but I don’t think they know he knows, so I doubt that they would act all lovey-dovey like they are here in front of him just yet.

Billy probably knows. Triumvirate had a few moments that Billy couldn’t miss. Even if he still had his suspicions, this just confirms it.

No, they’re a couple of silly kids in love. 😉 I wonder if Lee and Billy had a conversation long ago (unknown to us) where someone decided it was “okay” for people to date or become involved at the agency. Or maybe someone other than Billy, Lee, Francine or whomever that decided this. The thing is, it doesn’t mesh with my memory of the work place in the 1980s. I thought people were more professional back then (compared to today). I don’t even think ‘casual Friday’s’ happened until the 1990s. Relationships didn’t happen at work, or if they did, no one spoke of it (except on TV shows. 😉 )

Oh, I think Wizard established pretty solidly that EEEEEEEVERYONE knows Lee’s been involved in PLEEEEEEEENTY of relationships at work. So I don’t see this as weird because of the coworker thing. But the non-secrecy of this scene just doesn’t seem to fit the Lee & Amanda vibe. The swoonworthiness is off the charts, of course, but it’s giving me fits trying to figure out where it slots into the episode order! Hmm…I think I may have to watch another time or two for research 😉

About them keeping things ‘under wraps’ … Maybe this is irrelevant given the nature of the job, but I wonder if the fact that this is ‘after hours’ has any bearing on the matter. They’re still in front of their boss, no matter what time of day it is. But maybe since they’re off the clock, they don’t care about being discrete? We see Lee with his arm around Amanda first. After a tiny hesitation, she reaches for him. It wasn’t unnatural for her (so she’s done this before, just not in front of Billy). She had to be thinking about where they were. Then maybe she decided, “oh what the heck, we’re not working now.” It almost suggests that a conversation took place that we missed. But that confuses things going forward (I’ll bring that up later in the walk.)
I have no idea where this falls in episode order. Wrong Number is the one that feels the most out of place to me after seeing this tag.
