1/3 Just Walk with me – Through Lee’s Season 2 Apartments! By Silver Corvette

The Walk may be having a rest stop but the fun continues with Random posts being published twice a week. And we’ve also got some great topical posts coming up once a week for the next few weeks. Coming up first are two posts on Lee’s Season 2 by SilverCorvette. Please join me in welcoming SilverCorvette back!

Season 2

With the European episodes, we don’t see Lee at home until more than half-way through the season.

Apartment 3 (numbering continuing from Season 1)

A Little Sex, A Little Scandal (Episode 14)

So we see the outside of the same building as in Season 1. (sorry, its night-time)

image

This apartment has a bar, the first thing we see.

image

Wow, so many glasses ! A set for every kind of wine ? Lots of parties at home ?

image

Lots of wood panelling, lots of plants !

image

There is double doored closet beside the front door, both matching wood. And a step down out of the entry area into the living area. Could this really be in the same building as the Season 1 apartment ? The style is very different.

image

image

Outside the door, there is another apartment door at right angles to Lees. Its really hard to see but I think this apartment is 302 ?

image

This is later, when Amanda comes with a cake after the Mother of the Year contest is over. It’s night again, but this is showing an apartment on the second floor in the building!

image

We see the bar from across the room this time – a grey couch in the foreground and so many plants with a Buddha tucked in amongst the greenery ! Blinds with a matching pelmet above.

image

Now look at that window – that does not look like it fits into the building  shown from the outside. And a window seat underneath. And another Buddha !

You can see that the apartment appears to be up really high looking down on the city  (which is particularly black and white !)

image

Stepped up cupboards under the window – lots of storage in this apartment.

Where did Lee put his roll-top desk, in the bedroom ? The bronco statue and the Ram’s Horn ? Why the Buddha and not the bronco on the cupboard ? Did he get rid of all the furniture, art and knickknacks he had in Season 1 ? because none of it seems to be the same.

image

And a built-in area for the TV and stereo etc., then big double doors into the kitchen. I don’t think I could comfortably watch the TV from the couch, and definitely not from the window seat. In season 1, he only had a small TV in the bedroom !

And what are those things next to the fireplace – lizards or do they have a use ?

image

Somehow, the doors to the kitchen have closed, after Lee put the cake on the coffee table. Oh, well !

That’s as much as we see of this apartment, but it is definitely not the same one as in Season 1 and I am pretty much convinced it should not be in the same apartment building.

Couldn’t TPTB find an exterior that matched the inside, or did they just want to show the same building so we would know we were at Lee’s?

SilverCorvette

Thanks SilverCorvette for your fascinating survey of Lee’s season two apartment so far. What do all you JWWM’ers think?

We’ll be back next week with Part 2 of SilverCorvette’s S2 post!

  1. Nice post. Lee’s apartments were always a little confusing to me, especially when they would show the outside, close in on a window and then you would see something that didn’t match what you saw on the outside.

The only thing I like about Lee’s first apartment was the doorman. He was funny. This apartment seems more modern and up to date, but it’s fairly dark. Still not a big fan of it.

  2. Ugh! This is what happens when you go away to Europe and leave a French guy to redecorate your place obviously. All very modern and nasty and not one nice blue accent, except for Amanda’s coat. No wonder he spends so much time in the backyard at Maplewood Drive.

Hey clagjanet – you had me sniggering away on the bus when I read this! people were looking at me sideways wondering if I was okay 😉 tee hee.. Loved this!

No wonder he spends so much time in the backyard at Maplewood Drive.

      Love it!!

I’m strangely looking forward to walking through the journey of Lee’s apartment haaaa! It is a great way to explore the character 🙂

  3. Whoo hooo! So happy to get back here and delve into SilverCorvette’s new offering! Thanks so much for sharing this with us all SilverCorvette!
And thanks Learjet for organising the publishing 🙂

I’m shocked we don’t see Lee’s apartment until mid season 2 – I remember vaguely saying something while walking through ALSALS that it seemed much of SMK had been updated and overhauled – seems to me that the Lee apartment set was dismantled at the end of season 1… and wasn’t put together again until mid season 2. I guess they were off travelling Europe for half the first half of season 2… Well from the looks of things Lee may have been redecorating for the first half of season 2! So um that might explain Amanda not visiting/us not seeing it? 😉 tee hee.. like he is real lol!

Okay focus iwsod.. sorry.. I’ve digressed already?!

A bar. Hmm I look forward to hearing what we all make of this new décor. Morley – what does it mean?! 🙂

Could this really be in the same building as the Season 1 apartment ? The style is very different.

This reminds me of Europe- apartment buildings very old on the exterior and on the interior the apartments are all very different.. some even combine a couple of apartments and have them split over levels so you never know what’s actually inside. I figure Lee’s apartment block is like that. To trick the baddies. A real shame it couldn’t also trick the blondes ahem.

I must say it’s a shock to see the hair don’t and the ear buttons again. But.. after having walked through this part of the show I really enjoy the character’s journeys during this time of the show (second half of season 2).

Its really hard to see but I think this apartment is 302 ?

Yes I think its 302. I went back and had a look at the ep. But this is just my own opinion and could quite possibly be wrong! And if he is living on the second level why isn’t it 202?! Another trick to fool the baddies? Are you taking note of these changes SilverCorvette? Would be cool to put them all together to show how Lee fooled the bad guys! Rofl.

I think the roll top desk was traded in by his decorator for new buddhas. The Ram’s horn seemed special though.. hmm maybe Amanda ruined it and it had to be tossed?

Yes loads of Buddha. Guess they were trendy back then!

Now I look at it, that’s quite a little jungle Lee has in the corner there with its own resident buddha no less.

The magic Apartment strikes again.. love the magic high rise view from the second story haaaaaaa.. so much.. intrigue! It’s quite fitting for Lee’s apartment to not make sense ha!

Yes in ALSALS the photos are all different from season 1. well I can’t see any. Just artwork. I’ll stay tuned on this one.. I’m thinking in a later viewing some of the photos from his old apartment reappear. Or maybe it’s that they reappear in the Q bureau! lol. we’ll see!
It’s like this apartment is fresh after the decorator came to redecorate and errr change floors for Lee.. and so far only his record collection and the blondes seem to have migrated over from the old place. Haaaa

And what are those things next to the fireplace – lizards or do they have a use ?

I think they are metal wall hangings of some kind.. lizards? maybe! Dragons? I really don’t know! their use is to help represent Lee as well travelled and interesting 😉 maybe? Oh I know. they are covering a few bullet holes! 😉

Somehow, the doors to the kitchen have closed, after Lee put the cake on the coffee table. Oh, well !

Oh yeah! Where did those doors come from?! Great catch!

Couldn’t TPTB find an exterior that matched the inside, or did they just want to show the same building so we would know we were at Lee’s?

If I were to optimistic, I would say they did it on purpose so that us die hard fans would have some detective work to do.
If I were to be realistic, I would say they didn’t give a toss.
If I were to be completely delusional, I would say Lee is real, and messes with the interior/exterior matching in order to trick the bad guys. We don’t want the whole world to be able to locate this world class spy do we?

Yep.. I’ll go with completely delusional! How about you everyone?

Thanks SilverCorvette – looking forward to your next post! Bye!

    1. “And if he is living on the second level why isn’t it 202?!”. Maybe his building had the ‘first’ floor in the basement. I lived in apartment 403 of a 3 1/2 story walk up. The first floor was set 1/2 a floor below ground. This way the cheap son of a guns that built the complex didn’t have to install an elevator which you had to if the building was 4 stories high. Or maybe the people in charge of exterior shots really didn’t give a toss. 😉

  4. After all this close scrutiny of the apartment, I have decided that I don’t like it. Its really dark after the Season 1 apartment, and while it might be thought to be a “bachelor pad”, sleek and trendy, it does not say “Lee” to me, after seeing so much of his Season 1 place. I wanted to see the Tibetan Rams Horn and the Bronco statue and even the little unicorn here, not the random collection of Buddhas and greenery.
I have also decided I don’t mind Amanda’s shorter hair so much, her hair seems to change episode to episode anyway.

    1. I agree!! This apartment is trying to have personality. but to me it seems manufactured and not genuine.

I confess I find the hair don’t less awful now too because I just plain loved walking through those eps. and I love to have fun with how much I hate it. so I love it. haaaa..

  5. Hi SilverCorvette – great post! I think this apartment of Lee’s is my least favorite. Maybe it’s because of the hair don’t or because I know Randi-baby has probably spent a night or two there (shudder!) or maybe it’s just the completely different décor. I think you are right – there is no way this apartment was in the same building as his season 1 apartment with all the cool, meaningful knickknacks.

And I don’t know much about Bhuddism or having little Bhudda statues, but I’m wondering if the deeper thinkers out there (ahem, Morley) can somehow put a spin on it to Lee’s character development. I prefer to think that Lee had to leave his season 1 apartment in a rush – the baddies knew where he lived – and he just went with a furnished apartment with no decorations with personal connections should another set of baddies find his apartment and look for clues on potential weaknesses to target him with. e.g. no pictures of his uncle or Billy or Sandy Newcomb. Maybe this new apartment helps him with all his cover stories for the ladies in his little black books.

Okay that’s enough for me – thanks for sharing!

    1. I agree with BJo. This looks more like the apartment of a playboy spy than what we saw in season 1. Also, I thought that one of Lee’s early personality traits was that he was sloppy, and this apartment seems unnaturally neat. I do like that Buddha hanging out in the mini jungle over there, though.

      1. Agree with both BJo and Jestress. It’s a very “unhomey” home. More a place to bring women {shudder} than a place to relax and watch a ball game. And all those glasses make it look more like a bar in a club. Somehow, Amanda’s cake just doesn’t fit in that home like it might have in the S1 apartment/s. Maybe things needs to get worse before they get better? I have high hopes for an improved S3 apartment….

        1. Interesting insight about his apartment being more a swinging bachelor pad now than in season one. Perhaps he decided he was going to ‘grow up’ and not be such a slob and move into a more mature apartment befitting a man in his 30s. * shudder * It is very yuppie indeed.

    2. The Buddha have a deeper meaning? lol I just figured the decorator was going for a trendy exotic vibe. and Lee had no say in the Buddha being there.. this apartment seems to lack any personal touch.
Yes! No picture with Billy.. we’ll have to keep an eye out for it. Good catch!

  7. Thanks, Silver Corvette! Very thorough! I love that window seat. I’ve dreamt of having one in my place some day. That’s quite a view, and I’ll agree it’s not the view that should be there. Yes, what’s with the Buddhas?

  8. Thank you for the analysis – I was too traumatized by Amanda’s hair don’t to pay close attention to the apartment (who am I kidding, when Lee is on screen I really don’t notice any background 😉 )
