Back to the hospital exterior.. Gordon and Karen are waiting in the car for Lee to leave the hospital.. Why is Gordon with Karen?? She should have left him at baddie HQ! He’s soooo annoying!!
When Gordon watches the hospital with Karen and says “I guess this is the wrong place too!”

the silent look Karen gives him is funny..

I think she is thinking – hmm kill that gorgeous hunk of spunk and get lots of money? or shoot this annoying complaining man and just get out of here and wear no more ear buttons????!!! hmmm tough decision..

Here comes Lee- exiting the hospital he heads for his car..

Gordon: It’s him!

…Well, aren’t you gonna follow him????!!!!!
Karen: No I don’t have to. It’s perfect.

Lee gets in the car.. and Karen grins like a cheshire cat..
Karen to Gordon: you waited seven years for this? How would you like a front row seat for the kill?

[Karen is so exhilarated here.. I am surprised she isn’t foaming at the mouth!]
Gordon: I have got a front row seat and he’s about to drive off!!!!!
Karen: Ohh he’ll be back!!

(quietly) …Mrs King’s in there.

She laughs (I’m sure it sounds like: Muahahahaa!) and starts the car..
Gordon: where are you going?
Karen: we’re going to need a few things.

Hmm she doesn’t have ear buttons.. maybe she needs some.. ahem..
Off Lee drives.. and off Karen drives in another direction..

It’s magic!!! We saw the same lady walking into the hospital earlier when Lee and Amanda arrived. Now Lee is leaving, she’s leaving too! Haa!  [Black jacket, grey skirt lady]

Hmm maybe she’s in on it too!

Okay.. it seems to me like Gordon keeps pointing out the holes in this plot! Only.. they try and pass it off as Karen answering his concerns that he raises.. only- she doesn’t answer them! This is truly bizarre..  Why couldn’t she pull a gun on Lee in the car park and tell him to get in his car? Ohhhh right no he’ll be back and they need a few things.. yes.. let’s see how this all works out!  It doesn’t matter what she is wearing she doesn’t have to convince him she is Amanda- shove a gun in his face and tell him to get in the car – too public to do this  in a car park? Hold that thought! Why doesn’t she get Lee now? No reason.. except the plot requires that Karen impersonate Amanda.. aie.. this plot does not hold up to scrutiny.. but I guess the Lee and Amanda moments make it worth it! 🙂  .. there is still plenty to love in this episode!

Back to IFF- wow check out that IFF exterior! it’s an old one.. the red/green cars and that tree has leaves on it! Magic leaves.. they grew in just 20 or so minutes!
Earlier in ep/ and Now…

Billy can’t believe they can’t find Gordon Redding.. Billy recaps for us..
Billy: We know Redding is working with a woman from the Credle/ Treloggen assassinations. We know they didn’t pitch a tent beside the beautiful Potomac so where are they?

Yes with that body of knowledge – I really don’t understand how they haven’t found Gordon! rofl!!!!

Francine has checked all the hotels in DC and rental agencies. She’s  shown Redding’s picture all over town and she’s found out nothing.

Whooo I do believe Francine wore this weird hypnotising necklace in Spiderweb!! You know with that huge collared pink knit dress..(Look into my necklace!! You’re getting sleepy.. Nope.. I still can see plot holes! I need a tux, Lee dimples.. or another swoony moment from Lee and Amanda and they will be quickly forgotten!)
Billy: that means that the woman booked them in and we don’t have an ID on her at all.

Francine: Oh we do have a description:…

[Billy is optimistic for a second when he hears this].….‘Average’!

[Ugh!!! Francine tricked him! He thought Francine had reason to hope! this is hopeless!]

Lee arrives in the bullpen.. wait.. soooooo Lee left the hospital and went straight back to IFF?.. LOL.. sooo Karen had a second chance to follow Lee to IFF and discover it’s location?.. ohhh dear…

Lee looks so funny carrying the kids lunchbox!

Billy: Scarecrow you checked out that hotel where they found Credle?
Lee: yeah.
Billy: Is there anything, I mean anything that you can add to what we already know about the woman.

LOL.. again! Billy gets his hopes up!!!

Then Lee responds flatly: Great Legs.
tee hee.. They got you again Billy! Though I don’t think that was Lee’s intention.. we’re about to find out he isn’t up for jokes!

I wonder if Karen has Amanda’s legs.. I guess we are suppose to assume so!

Francine can’t pass up this opportunity to make a crack at Lee’s expense.
Francine: Hey!!! I like the new look! It makes a real statement.

Lee can barely raise a smile..well not a real one anyway!

Lee: I’m really not in the mood okay?!
Lee knows how to shut her up.. haaa.. Lee delivers Francine’s lunch.. ( I wish.. ) nope he just hands her the lunchbox —
Lee: here, could you take care of this for me?

Francine reaches out to take the lunchbox: Sure what’s in it?

As she begins to open it Lee responds: Coral snake. [lol.. yes tell her it’s the venomous version Lee haaa]

Love how Francine puts it right back on the table very quickly!!!  

Haaaa.. 1 point for Lee!!! Love the look he gives her.. he got her good but he’s still not happy..

Lee: someone tried to kill Amanda today.


Billy: what????!!!!

Lee: she’s alright. She’s in the hospital. I had the lab run a test on the gas they used. It turned out to be relatively harmless.

Billy: this has been quite a morning.
Lee: yeah. Tell me about it. I’m going to go pick her up at the hospital she’s got her family at a hotel.
[Aha! this line is great!! and tell us a lot – Lee knows that Amanda’s priority is to get back to her family asap..]
Lee continues: anything more on Gordon Redding? anything at all?

[Such a shame they didn’t show Amanda a photo of Gordon Redding.. she could have ID’d him as the mailman.. I mean they know she has been in contact with these baddies.. but nooooo… they could have showed hospital staff his picture and left an agent to guard Amanda.. but nooooo… ]
Billy: zip, I mean we know he’s here [genius!] we just can’t find him. [ ohhh hooooo that is painful dialogue.. riveting stuff..]

Lee: yeah. Well, try not to worry Billy, I have a feeling he’ll be trying to find me.

Lee says this and then leaves – with an armed escort.. right?????!!!!
Whahahahaaaaahhhaaa haaaa!!! Nope.. he leaves ALONE!!!
Without even a coral snake to keep him company!   [LOL then again, he arrived without a coral snake too didn’t he ]
But he brings with him back up for when he picks up Amanda (who has already had one attempt on her life also)  and takes her to her hotel right????? Noooooo!!!!!

Sooo what happened to ‘keeping scarecrow under wraps’ ?? tee heee.. Hilarious! Especially when combined with the intense close up on concerned Billy at the end of this scene! LOL!!

Billy’s so intense but of zero assistance at all! 😉

Back to the hospital and Gordon has found himself an ambulance and an ambulance officer uniform…

I don’t really remember this.. can’t remember why he has this! Oh well I’ll keep watching.. He gets a stretcher out of the ambulance and looks up in time to see Karen enter the hospital

– wearing the exact same outfit as Amanda (yuck!) and.. ear buttons!! ohh the indignity! I guess that is the stuff she needed..

Ambulance officer Gordon arrives at the nurses station with a trolley.. trying to look casual he waits for the nurses to move away.. he manages to get a look at the patient list (Amanda’s name was on there??!!! nooo that’s ridiculous!  she’s just had an attempt on her life.. she has an alias! Right????!!!!! whahahhahahaaaa!)

He pulls the trolley down Amanda’s hallway.. Amanda’s name is on the door??????!!!!! Is this flippin ridiculous or what??!!! I think the sign that  said: ‘You already tried to kill me once, so here I am if you want another go!!!’  has accidentally fallen off or something 😉

The writing is very professional  

He turns to find Karen behind him.. and he signals this is the room.. yes because that big ‘King’ sign was very confusing..  😆
Karen steps closer to the door.. grinning in anticipation of her finally meeting Mrs King..

Muahahahaa!!! Time for one last silent baddie look between Karen and Gordon..

…and the scene cuts to Amanda in her room.

Of course, I’m going to finish there for the moment! tee heee.. I’ll back back with Amanda’s twin moment soon..

Lee has taken Amanda to the hospital after she inhaled that gas that knocked her out – we see Karen and Gordon are waiting in the hospital parking lot for them..

Inside, we join Lee leaving the emergency dept. to walk down the hall with the doctor…
Doc: Well first, we’ll run all the usual tests.
Lee: I don’t want you to run the usual tests..

[at this we see Amanda jump into the hallway behind them! LOL! it’s like you assume from the way Lee and the doc are talking that she is in a hospital bed somewhere – but noooo she’s right behind them! full of beans too!]

…I want you to run every test that you can think of.
Amanda tries to get a word in: I really don’t think I-

Lee is takin charge!!! Me thinks it’s how he deals with  freakin out!
Amanda (while Lee and the Doc talk): I really feel fine now.

Lee: Until the agency lab runs that vial we won’t know what gas they used. It may be toxic and there may be side effects.

[Lee doesn’t look at Amanda the whole time he speaks.. I think he’s trying to focus on the job at hand!]
Amanda: I really  feel great-

Doc: we’ll keep her under surveillance.. ( surveillance?? is this a doctor or an agent? LOL! I guess he’s both.. but err usually doctors keep their patients under observation no?! LOL! the Script says ‘observation’! ) …for 24 hours.

Amanda: ohhh nooo 24 hours is too long!
[I think Lee knows Amanda isn’t going to like this one bit!]

 …Oh nooo mother and the boys are in the hotel and I can’t leave them there alone-
[Okay this is the point where Amanda starts to get mad!!! That doc just completely cut her off!!!]

Doc to Lee: You will call me as soon as your lab boys get an answer [yes.. only men work in labs in smk world ]
Lee: Absolutely.

Amanda: you dont-
Doc to Lee: now I don’t think there’s any major nerve damage or anything like that, I think she’ll be fine.

Amanda: Excuse me there. Not only will I be fine- I’m here!!

Lee: Wha?

Amanda: I’m right here!!! and you’re talking about me but I’m here. and I feel terrific and every thing is great and I don’t
understand why you’re talking about me when I’m not-

[I think Lee starts in with a little smile here during this Amanda ramble.. he seems to finally allow himself to register she’s there and not happy!! At least.. this is my guess…thoughts?]

Doc interrupts her: She seems upset…

…That’s natural. We’ll talk later.

Lee: Ah thank you.

Ohhhh dear.. Lee can see he has to make this okay with Amanda! And.. she ain’t happy! I feel for Amanda as Lee and the doctor talk about her like she isn’t there.. Ugh!! I am surprised the doc didn’t pat her on the head and tell her to be a good little woman and hush up while the men look after her! I am glad Amanda is not okay with this talking about her like she’s not there.. shame on you Doc! [what’s he a doctor in anyway- philosophy?!]
Lee (in a gentle chastening tone): Amanda.

(He just wants her to be safe.. and Lee is new at this whole caring thing I think that’s what’s going on here with him.. thoughts anyone?? do tell!)
Amanda: That’s not fair…

… That’s.. argh..

[ hey Lee she isn’t perfect.. she has feelings! make this right Mr!]
Amanda turns to Lee..: Ahh.. Lee..

Lee: What?

Amanda quickly and quietly: I don’t know why you brought me to a hospital. I don’t know why you want me to stay…

… I don’t wanna be in a hospital. I shouldn’t be in a hospital.

Amanda’s upset.. awh.. poor Amanda! I’m so glad she is honest with Lee though.. It’s lovely to see they are close enough now to deal with this honestly.

Lee pulls out the big guns.. He grabs her by both arms – making sure he has her attention.
Lee: Amanda, Listen.

Amanda turns to look at him.

Lee quietly: what’s the harm in running a few tests?

Amanda: I don’t want to run-
Lee interrupts: for your own peace of mind.

Oh dear.. Lee this isn’t going to cut it! Time to step up buddy!
Amanda: I don’t need peace of mind. I have perfect peace of mind. My mind is-

Lee: Okay then. Okay!…
… For (quietly) .. mine.

He looks Amanda in the eye and points to himself.. then he does that cute eyebrow raise mannerism he does when he’s a bit nervous!

He does it in Ship of Spies..Spiderweb.. I think I mentioned this in Car wars- yep found it! Is he also wearing the same tie as that dry-cleaning scene?? No way!!
Lee finally admits what this is all about! and he’s got to be freaking out that Amanda is in this situation because of him! awh..

They silently look at each other for a moment..
Amanda: You mean if-

Lee: Hmmm [ aha! I just saw a dimple! ]

Lee nods silently.
Lee: now come on, you’re in here.

Lee tries to move the conversation on from this touchy feely moment haaaa.. pointing to where her room is but Amanda is frozen in place!
He grabs her by the arm and quietly urges her to move: Come on!

Amanda smiles

Amanda: Lee.

She’s not moving Lee.. she’s got something she wants to say- call me crazy but Lee is so cute here it’s like he is nervous about all this genuine stuff! He realises she isn’t moving and has something to say.

Still smiling, Amanda: Lee. That’s really very sweet.

Lee smiles – okay! now Amanda is happy to move into the room!

haaaa! love it!!! Lee is all over the place here in this scene – isn’t it fabulous??!!!
Amanda goes on ahead of him to the room and we can just make out Lee behind Amanda grinning from ear to ear.

Cute huh!!!

Then! He gives the back of her a look like- ohhhh boy!!!!
I really want to hear what you all think.. though I’ll share my own thinking too..
I think this is such a lovely moment- The script describes this admission of Lee’s as: ‘It is a totally honest statement of caring.’
How great is that! I’m trying to think: has Lee every directly said the words like this? that he cares about her?? Can anyone think of a moment??

Right now I can’t think of a time before this! LOL.. it could just be because it’s all very swoony and my mind is blank! Even in the moment in Car wars with the dry-cleaning – Lee doesn’t directly say ‘I care about you – you are what matters’.. he makes an indirect statement that means the same thing (Well that just underlines how Car Wars does not belong after this episode!). Oopsie I digress..

In this moment Lee was very vulnerable.. Amanda was very vulnerable –[No wonder it reminds me of their wedding in ship of spies!!Hmm I think I need to watch that again ] This is pretty scary and new territory for our superspy I think his look at the end is one big – ‘phew!!! that was intense.. and kinda scary!’ Because Amanda is really important to him, because he told her to do this for him because he cares about her and needs the peace of mind.. and because there was a lot at stake- he really needed her to stay in the hospital where she would be safe.. from whatever toxin could have harmed her.. or whoever was trying to get Lee and now inexplicably, get Amanda – I think with Amanda tucked away in hospital safe, he has the peace of mind to deal with the person trying to hunt him down!

I bet you will all put it much better then me.. Go for it!! So what’s going on with Lee here everyone?? What do you make of how Amanda responds? What’s she to think of all this??

I’m sure you will be full of wonderful ideas.. swoony thoughts.. and fabulous insights! I’m really looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this last scene!

By the way – Amanda being drugged by someone who is seeking revenge on Lee?? Hmm sounds just like the plot of DOA doesn’t it!! teee hee.. well, now I can see very well why they wanted to rearrange the order a little.. though come on.. putting car wars next with the long hair is nuts! Still.. you wonder just what they were thinking doing two major plots of old baddies coming back to get Lee!

Another random thought- Amanda’s opposition to things here I think is important for the big confrontation that’s coming.. Amanda is not just going along with anything.. she’ s not happy and Lee knows it!

Is it just me or is it strange that we never hear Lee ask Amanda what happened with the phone call?? and tell her what happened with the shotgun?!! He still has no idea what happened.. LOL.. He could at least work out someone imitated Amanda’s voice – the person doesn’t have to look like Amanda for that so it gives nothing away – but makes sense plot wise. Seems to me they have really stretched things in order to have the big pay off of the two Karen reveals that are coming.. meh!

Still, with such a lovely lovely scene here between Lee and Amanda I can’t complain – you know, this whole ‘Lee that’s really very sweet’ line and then moment that follows was not in the script??!!! Glad they didn’t follow the script here! Well done smk!!!
In the script only:
They had Lee say: Okay then. for mine.
They silently look at each other.
then.. [I’ll copy what the script says here]:
A nurse approaches, pausing at the doorway across the hall. She gives Lee an appreciative appraisal, then reacts to the lunch box he carries. Lee notices her scrutiny.
Lee: Peanut Butter and Jelly.
Amanda: His favourite.
the nurse disappears into the room. Amanda and Lee exchange a smile, the moment broken.
Okay.. sooo what do you think about this???!!! Do tell!!

Anyway, I am busting to hear your thoughts.. must go watch this scene again. about 10 times.. very swoony! byeee for now!

The next morning and Amanda receives a parcel from Gordon- special delivery!..

Nice touch how Gordon scrutinises Amanda’s features as her head is bent signing for the parcel!

Hmm shame Lee didn’t warn her to be careful..or tell her not to go home without him.. or tell her about the shotgun! Aie!!
I think it’s amazing Amanda stays alive  [Then again I guess Lee doesn’t think Amanda is in danger because she didn’t kill Redding’s brother! 😉 ]

Amanda opens the parcel and gets a big breath full of some gas

that knocks her out,

Ohhh looky.. a pretty striped snake that looks mean,

hungry and dangerous managed to stay in the box when Amanda threw it across the room and then crawl out on cue! ta da! [when she tossed the box, it was empty.. as you would have guessed! ]

Amanda lying on the floor next to the snake..  unconscious.. Uh oh!

I always wondered what that snake was.. the script says it’s a deadly coral snake..but I found this on the net:
I’m thinking it’s a milk snake.. and non-venomous! Phew.. this could have been really scary!   Nah.. I still don’t like seeing a snake crawling around eek!!! even if it is pretty! 

Right on time.. Lee arrives –he goes to the front door and rings the doorbell? wha???? Why would he do that??!!! Especially after last time! so weird! Maybe he likes the idea of being able to come in through the front door.. Lee’s unconscious desire for a family and a real home is influencing him! [hey! it’s just a theory! Otherwise.. this makes no sense to me!] -I think the only reason they had Lee come to the front door again was to build the suspense.. not needed! snake on floor!!! Lee rings the doorbell again.. Snakey! go answer the door!
Well Lee walks around the back whooo now he’s starting to worry!
Oh get this! when I ripped the dvd to my computer ( so I could take pics) looks like it had a glitch of some kind at this moment.. soooo creepy! Look what I can see!!
How creepy is it!!!

It’s like it’s the drugged imaginings of Amanda at this moment! It looks like the snake is crawling on the side of Amanda’s house!
trippy man!!!
[I think I need to buy new ripping software-anyone recommend one?]
Sorry.. how could I get distracted at a swoony moment like this??

Get ready! [drool bucket handy?]

Lee sees Amanda through the side window, out of it on the floor with that snake awfully close!!!

Cue the dramatic music! Ohhh this moment is totally swoony don’t you think? Lee gives the panicked “Amanda!!!!” yell.. heroically smashes the glass on the back door and breaks in (Looks like he breaks part of the door too! He’ll probably be getting a key in the near future- LOL!)

[really- why doesn’t Lee have a key by now? Oh! I know.. smashing the door was much more dramatic! 🙂 ]

Lee swoops in to rescue Amanda..
The fact that he somehow manages to use his special spy skills to hypnotise the snake to suddenly take on the posture of a lollypop so he can oh so conveniently put a bin over it does nothing to take away from my swooning at his rescue here.. Nice snakey!

Snake under the bin, Lee turns Amanda over gently..

Lee: Amanda. Amanda?

He gently touches her cheek..

[How’s that for a swoony pic huh!! Here!! Quick.. smell this!! It’s a scratch and sniff.. just scratch your computer screen and you should shouldn’t swoony swoon thingy!]
Amanda half raises her arm like she’s starting to come around. Yep.. attentive Lee would do it!
Lee gently: It’s okay.

Amanda very quietly: Leeeee.

[Plot holes schmot holes.. who flippin cares!]
Lee: I’m here now…

  He moves her around in preparation for lifting her off the ground.

Groggy Amanda protests: no I can.. No I Lee..
Lee: come on. no I got you
Amanda moans.. she’s in no way ready to get up by herself.. Amanda you must really be out of it- or you sure wouldn’t be protesting at hitching a ride with Lee Every girl’s dream!!

not swoony enough?? more pics? thought so!

Lee picks her up and brings her over to the couch saying gently: Just relax.

Amanda: yeaahhh I”ll jussst..rest for a minute..
She fades out again..
Lee’s so gentle with her – and touches her like she is precious wouldn’t you agree??!! love the final hand on her stomach – like he is telling himself she’s okay now you can let her go!
swoony!!!
I always knew Lee was a total charmer.. it turns out he really really is.. A snake charmer!! Still I don’t care.. Lee rescuing Amanda is so swoony he could have whistled and yelled ‘fetch the ball’ to the snake and had it take off and I would have still loved this moment.. Good Snakey!
Leaving Amanda on the couch, Lee picks up the rigged shoebox.. and sees it was some kind of trigger device..

Yep.. things are really wrong! Weird!! cue the chimey things are weird music!! [Maybe Lee is down the rabbit hole?? whoooo!! *iwsod shoves everyone out of the way* ] LOL I need to watch the wizard of oz again so I can come up with some appropriate metaphors!

Lee takes the shoebox back over to Amanda looking at her..

half to Amanda.. half to himself Lee says: this just doesn’t track I know why he wants to kill me but why you?

Lee does a pretty good job of putting the snake into the Bernstain Bears cute lunch box – Aren’t the boys a bit old for Bernstain Bears?

 I like how Lee went straight to the kitchen drawer with the tongs.. think he knew where they were?

While Lee talks to the snake Amanda opens her eyes.. she can hear Lee saying: Okay fella here we go.. [ too cute! fella!]

Amanda’s a little confused at what’s going on. she mumbles: Lee?
and tries to turn her head but it’s too sore to move.

Ouchie.. and with the snake in the lunch box.. the scene ends..

I tell ya… I feel for BB – in some of the pics of this moment.. he is workin hard!

[anyone hear a snap? could be BB’s back! ] It’s very difficult to lift a grown person off the ground like that- even if she is as tiny as KJ! So swoony though! Glad we get to enjoy it 🙂

On the upside.. seeing the Berenstain Bear’s lunchbox has finally solved a riddle for me..

It’s uncanny! I couldn’t put my finger on who Amanda’s haircut reminded me of! Sister!!

The baddies watch from their car out on the street.. Hmmm that lady in the brown coat must be in on it..

…she walked past when the baddie Gordon did his special delivery in the first place [see the first pic in this post if you don’t believe me]..Gordon and Karen are watching what’s going on.. Karen notes ‘Stetson’s car’ – lol who could miss it?  Gordon: okay so he got here ahead of us.

[Wait! Gordon just delivered a parcel to Amanda in a mailman’s uniform..a minute ago!!  and here he is now, not in that uniform, complaining that Lee arrived before they did?? Ohhh boy. ]

Well. Gordon has an idea!
Gordon: Wait a minute! That’s even easier! We don’t have to worry about getting rid of the King woman’s body. We’ll take care of them right here! [It is funny how Gordon is suddenly so blood thirsty! He’s gleeful! LOL.. welcome to the dark side Gordon!! 🙂 ]
Karen is amused by this suggestion .. and turns to watch as Lee accompanies Amanda from her house, and to his car.. whoa! that lady is walking by again?? that’s three times! LOL!

Lee leads Amanda to his car as she walks by and awhhhhh opens the door for her..

Karen: ohh that stupid snake! [agreed! It wasn’t even dangerous! ] why wouldn’t you have just put something deadly in the gas canister??!! too funny..
Gordon: alright! we’ll take them both out.…

…You’re never going to get a cleaner shot at him!!!!
[I do like Lee’s ‘pose’ in this shot.. could almost be a car ad!! LOL thought maybe not with the Bernstain Bears lunchbox.. mixed messages! 😉  ]

Karen’s not having it.. with witnesses it’s a dumb idea [even for her!].. and so she puts Gordon in his place.
Karen: You might want to go back to prison but I’m not going with you alright! I will tell you when I will do it.

They watch Lee and Amanda drive off and follow them..

And I shall finish up there for the moment..
I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts! [That is if you have any after all those swoony pics!! Hmm you might want to take some time to recover and then respond! 🙂 ] I don’t know that we’ve ever heard Lee speak so gently to Amanda.. awh.. I do hope she can remember it A little reminiscent of Service Above and Beyond maybe? maybe just a tiny bit..
