11/12 Season Two, Episode Eight:Affair at Bromfield Hall-Scarecrow and Mrs King

We see Geoffrey and Pridemore enter the Library.. whoo that was where Amanda was headed.. did you wonder if she might interrupt them??
Their conversation confirms they were responsible for killing Ransome, attempting to kill Lee and accidentally killing the photographer.
Pridemore: I don’t know how you felt under Inspector Keaton’s questioning but I felt damned uncomfortable.
ROFL! that is ridiculous dialogue!! tee hee.. boo flippin hoo..

So,  Geoffrey is the initiator of all this.. and he tempted Pridemore with money.. Pridemore is now getting cold feet about things because of the murders..
Geoffrey: After the sale of the North Sea strategy, we should both be able to pack it in. It should bring more than all the rest of it put together.
Pridemore: and how am I suppose to get my hands on that information with Stetson prying into every corner of the department!
Geoffrey: Stick to the original plan. We eliminate Stetson and Mrs King [ whoa!! Amanda too??]
Pridemore: No! I am not killing a woman!
[ ROFL!! this guy is hilariously principled!!! ]

Geoffrey: she’s an agent Errol, she’s working with Stetson [ Err could you maybe explain that one to Lee? I think he could do with having that pointed out to him! ] She’s as much an agent as he is!! [ Ohhh the irony! Noo actually she isn’t.. she is researching Gwyneth’s genealogy so she stays out of Lee’s hair!] It would simplify matters a bit if it could be made to look like an accident but in any event, they both die! [Muahahahaaha!!!]

It’s agreed.. both Lee and Amanda should die.. Muahahaaha!!! the baddies leave the library, and we find brave Amanda has been hiding in the big chair listening and keeping her presence a secret!!!

Well done Amanda!! Considering what she heard she copes quite well! She’s becoming an old hand at having her life threatened! That genealogy really was helpful! Amanda rushes to the door.. to find it is a trick door she can’t open it!!!

Her panic begins to rise.. she’s trapped..  the two baddies are free to kill Lee.. and she can’t stop them!!! argh!!! She hears footsteps approaching.. not knowing who it is she grabs a bell off the desk to defend herself and –  she almost whacks Lord B in the head!!!

He arrives and Amanda explains they are going to murder Lee and her!! she doesn’t really explain who properly… but he hears the word Murder! that’s enough!!

He helps her open the door. [ love the trick book which opens the door titled : ‘Handel’s works’ it’s the handle that works! ] Amanda asks him to show her where Geoffrey and Pridemore’s rooms are – so she can find Lee. They make their way fast to the staircase where Amanda, still brandishing the bell as  a weapon [this is quite the episode for crazy weapons! ], runs into Lee!!
Lee sees Amanda in a panic: Amanda? I-

Amanda breathless blurts out: I was in the library their gonna kill you. their gonna kill me and then their gonna steal the plans to the north sea defence strategy!

Lee: who did you hear?
Amanda: Ah Pridemore and Douglas-Wood.  They’re in it together. I was reading the book on genealogy-
Lee: haa Amanda. I just sent you there to get you out of my hair. I-

Amanda: You did what?????  😦

[I can’t believe Lee actually admitted it.. I guess this was an unguarded moment.. but.. it is hilarious to hear Lee describe it that way since that’s how it has appeared to me throughout most of the episode – and I hadn’t remembered he said that!! Maybe I remembered it without remembering it! ( am I sounding like Amanda?! ) Amanda’s hurt.. I understand Lee’s motivation, I just don’t like that he did this to Amanda..(the lookout story in Double agent was much better!   That time, Amanda was none the wiser that Lee had pulled a fast one! ) but well, this all gets dealt with in Brunettes – so I feel better!  I am looking forward to moving past the issue of Lee valuing Amanda’s work! then.. Lee is even more swoonworthy!!!  
I try and watch the show in the original airing order, (and not watch ahead too much – I hold off watching upcoming episodes so I have a fresh look at them) and I try to experience it in that order, ie what it would have been like when watched on tv.. If I had seen this when it was originally aired in this order, I think I would have been feeling very frustrated and confused! Oh well, at least now I know all the good stuff that’s coming!

Lord B interrupts Lee and Amanda: what on earth is going on? I demand an explanation one way or the other!
LOL.. Lee seems to ignore Lord B here! he asks Amanda: where are they? are they still here?
Amanda: Ahh  I think so
Lee: alright you did real well Amanda. Real well Amanda, now you stay out of this [ at least Lee  compliments her]and let me wrap it up okay!
[I love how they make plans in the very noisy stairwell!]

Amanda: alright.
They see Geoffrey and Pridemore enter the room.. they are so funny.. not really very scary baddies are they! The looks on their faces when they see what they’ve walked into? Hilarious!!
Lord B confronts them: Gentlemen! Certain serious allegations have been made (by an electronics company president ). Now what is all this about the north sea defence strategy?

Tee hee.. they look like busted teenagers! and look around like they are trying to come up with a fib to get out of detention!
Gwyneth joins the commotion on the staircase.. Geoffrey looks at her, and then king hits Lord B.. (sadly, we could say he actually king hit Lord B twice)

Gwyneth yells: Geoffrey!!!
[I wonder what she thinks is going on here! but it’s telling she isn’t calling out to her husband who has been hurt!]
Lee chases after the two baddies as they leave the Hall.
Lord B stumbles to his feet, rubbing his jaw and looking at his wife he grumbles: Ohhhh Gwyneth!

[ I don’t know why.. but I love how he says this!! Such understatement! teee heeee.. –Gwyneth what have you been up to?? but I also appreciate that he says it without disgust.. I think those two need to have a conversation!!!  ]

On the front steps, Lee stops chasing the bad guys for a moment so he can stop Amanda from following him.
Lee: alright now stay out of this!
Amanda: stay out of it?
Lee: yeah! what are you gonna do if you catch em huh?!

Amanda: right.
Ohhh dear.. I think these two need to have a conversation!!!   Lee takes off after the baddies, towards the stables.
ROFL!! we cut back to Amanda on the front steps – so funny! we can see she is internally fighting the urge to follow.. and well.. she just can’t stop herself!! She gives in and starts running towards the stables! tee heee…

[ I think here we see just how frustrated Amanda is getting at being on the sidelines – it isn’t enough she wants more!!! IMHO this is real foreshadowing of growth ahead for Amanda!!!! ]

This is the part of the episode where I tend to drift off.. Another little game of cat and mouse.. only this time it takes place in the stables.. Lee ( more like stunt Lee) gets attacked with a pitchfork!..

and..you guessed it:  Lee wins..

Amanda tells Lee where Geoffrey went..

and Lee yells at her to hold on to Pridemore [anyone else just wishing at some point when Amanda can be helpful that she would say: nooo can’t do that.. I’m window dressing! I am cheeky I know ]

We see a loooooong horse chase.. Lee (or someone who looks nothing like him) chases Geoffrey, or at least someone who is suppose to be Geoffrey but looks nothing like him! Aie!!

It must have been hard for BB to let a stunt guy do some riding.. at least we get to see him riding for part of the sequence – go BB!

Whoo we do sort of see wet Lee.. that is kind of interesting! Stunt Lee dives on Geoffrey and sends them both into a dam..Geoffrey is such a wimp.. one punch is all it takes.. suffer Geoffrey! well..you guessed it! Lee wins..
Lee ends the scene declaring triumphantly: I gotcha! [we Lee that’s we!!!!! Amanda helped!!!! ]
