We re-join Lee and Amanda being driven by Rackam somewhere.. they are all silent.. and followed in a red jeep by Gretz.. this can’t be good!
Whooo good thing Lee was seated in the back- he is free to wiggle his knots loose.. Good thing it wasn’t that knot from The First time! what was it again? Go Lee!!! Amanda really needs you to come through here she has kind of given up I think!
They come to a stop in front of a cliff, with a big drop down to the beach below.. Uh oh.. this can’t be good 
[Err this must be the other side of San Angelo.. the side where the ship is in port is very lush and green! LOL! ] When the baddie opens Lee’s door first, Lee quickly glances at Amanda in the front…
…she gives him a side glance.. but then stares straight ahead and sighs- resigned to what is about to happen.
I think Lee is worried here that they are going to separate him from Amanda, it is clear she isn’t coping well..Poor Amanda! (mind you- she’s coping a lot better than I would!)
Rackam leads Lee to the edge of the cliff for a view of the danger ahead, and a lame pun: Nice day for a flight! Ohhh so lame! He returns Lee to the front seat of the car, next to Amanda..
It’s so sad when Lee looks over to Amanda, she again gives him a quick sideways glance but quickly looks straight ahead again..
Lee gives a regretful smile here..
IMHO he wishes he could reassure her here that he has a plan, but he can’t.. and.. no doubt he regrets putting her in such danger.. Hmm even more poignant when you see she is wearing a wedding dress- and he only just promised to love and honour her in sickness and in health- till death do they part!!! – she’s thinking she’s going to keep that vow!! whoa.. she would have died thinking she was married to Lee too!!
At the same time, I see admiration in that little smile of his.. maybe he is thinking she’s amazing that she isn’t panicking ( lol I think she’s beyond it!) and that he is going to save her?? Thoughts anyone??
Ha!! Rackam you dumb baddie!! bad idea showing Lee that drop and then putting him in the driver’s seat! Rackam dumps a 
bottle of booze on Lee.. Whoooo this is what the baddies do to that guy in The Triumvirate- you know, the one who wants to live without paper – was it Lance? someone remind me! Anyway.. the baddies are successful with Lance- but not with Lee! He picks his moment.. Rackam leans in to put the car into neutral and Lee squashes Rackam in the window frame.. then starts the car and takes off! Goooooo Lee!!
So, Lee and Amanda take off ( it was a nice day for a flight! ) and Gretz and Rackam pursue them..
We cut to Miles on the beach, looking at the ocean with his binoculars.. We see he is joined by Jillian, waiting in a van. Miles’ friends aren’t due for another 15 minutes. Ohhh goody! just enough time for Lee to put a spanner in the works! 🙂 Miles and Jillian get Orlando and Emiliano out of the back and get them to help unload the gold..
Seems they re-tied Emiliano’s hands so they are now bound in front, rather than behind his back.. LOL.. So the two agents Orlando and Emiliano were just sitting in the back of the van, both with their hands tied in front and they did nothing at all?? they could have easily untied each other’s ropes!! Ohhh wait.. yes they are waiting for Lee to save them!
We cut back to Lee and Amanda racing down the hill, with Rackam and Gretz in pursuit.. Lee driving at top speed can still take his eyes off the road and untie Amanda’s hands??!! Ohhh kay!
Amanda: oh good, good!
Lee: keep your hands up there will ya!
Amanda: good!!!
[Ahh some things don’t change huh! ]
Ohhh this car chase is a bit of a big yawn to me.. Amanda makes lots of noise.. but hey, there are quite a few Lee ‘looking intense in a tux’ moments.. so that’s worth watching!
Lee forces Gretz and Rackam off the road and their jeep crashes.. but we see Gretz and Rackam jump clear before the jeep is destroyed ( drat).
Lee keeps going.. thinking they have a chance to stop the baddies from handing over the gold.. he rushes down the road..
Amanda: are we going a little fast?
Lee: we’re going a lot fast! I think I burned out the brakes!
Amanda: I wish I hadn’t asked.
See now, this just annoys me!
Lee struggles bravely to control the car.. and there is his left hand on the steering wheel- wedding ringless!! 
It would have been great to see him battling bravely, his wedding ring glistening.. drat!!
Back to the beach, and ROFLMAO! Orlando and Emiliano – are sitting very obediently on the beach enjoying the sunshine..
Back to Lee and Amanda in the out of control car..
Lee: ok get ready to jump.
Amanda: Jump?
Lee: yes! there is only one way this thing is going to stop! [Lee looks like he wishes this wasn’t so!]
We see the beach now in front of them.. Jillian, Miles and the van in the distance..
Amanda: say when. ( my goodness she is a trooper!! When Lee says jump, Amanda knows there is no other option! 
)
Lee: Now!
Love how Lee watches her go.. Don’t you just love the noise she makes when she goes flying out of the car? I swear I can hear a ‘ splat! squelch..’ !! heeheee.. ouch!!!
Lee is impressed! hehehee..
[Lee’s thinking: That’s my wife!! she can jump out of a moving car!! 😆 ]
Lee lines up the car so it is aiming for the van down below, and he himself jumps out of the car..
What’s with the weird cuffs Lee suddenly has? He wearing something protective under that tux there?
Anyway.. it’s all very dramatic watching the car go over the edge..
We see the car goes over the cliff, Miles and Jillian start running ( ROFL! actually I think Miles shoots twice at the car and then starts running! tee hee! too funny! like what good was that going to do?! ) The car starts rolling.. aaaand rolling.. We see Lee quickly get up, and start running down to the beach – what was with his back there? You can see when he starts to get up, he has something attached to his lower back there? (& yes that’s Lee not stunt Lee!)
It’s almost like he has some kind of protective suit on under the tux – hey! maybe that explains why I thought the sleeves didn’t look like they fit properly at the wedding ( see comments- don’t think I mentioned it in the wedding post – I didn’t want to distract from the joy!) – it would explain why he had a tux with sleeves which were too long! (Need I point out how there is no way Lee jumped out of the car next to the beach?? when his side of the car was next to the cliff and then here in these shots? no beach? )
The car is still rolling and rolling.. (and probably laughing it’s arse off! ) Finally, it lands next to the baddie’s van. Lee’s lucky he didn’t squash his two buddies who are obediently waiting to be rescued!
Miles very nicely runs right past Orlando and Emiliano so they can actually do something!!! ROFL!yep-wow! Emiliano puts his foot out and trips Miles.. (Hooray!)
Why is Miles still running? The car has come to a stop.. and he had a gun didn’t he??!!! So Miles gets tripped, and looses his gun.. then gets up to try running for it again, only to be tackled by super hero Scarecrow: the ironic birdman
Ahhh smk action sequences.. you’ve got to love them! I don’t think any of the actors in that moment are the actual actors – this was probably second unit filming.. That is definitely not Lee flying there!
Jillian grabs for her gun, pointing it at Miles and Lee wrestling..but she’s unable to get a clear shot. Amanda sneaks up on her and fools her- pointing a pipe in her back and telling her to drop it!
Amanda: Hands up!!! ( Awesome Amanda!!! She’s MY hero!!!) And.. Jillian does!! haaa suffer!!
Lee beats Miles – satisfying!
and Amanda throws him Jillian’s gun.
Lee has them all rounded up!
Lee: Alright!
Awh! Amanda rushes over to Lee to shelter in his arms!!!
Lee: alright
Lee: looks like the honeymoon is over!
Jillian and Miles share a defeated look. haaaa suffer!!
Wait a minute! that’s the same gag Lee made in There Goes the Neighbourhood! I only mentioned that in the last post! I forgot he reuses it! Only this time- the honeymoon is over for Miles and Jillian! not for Lee and Amanda
Amanda is not seeing the funny side of this at all..
She turns to Lee.. gives him a look up and down – it’s like she’s starting to realise – it’s okay! she’s going to be okay! She’s with Lee, and he’s got it sorted!! 
I think this was a real scare for Amanda.. and it’s taking her a moment or two to come to terms with it all..
Lee turns to Amanda..
Amanda gives one of her head tosses and shyly smiles..
I think it’s like she’s telling Lee she’s okay!
Lee looks so happy to have Amanda by his side huh!

You can’t see Lee’s left hand, but from the way Amanda’s veil moves, it looks like he has his hand around Amanda, and he pulls her closer into his embrace here at the end.. 
Awh!!! It’s like.. they are both thinking: yeah we got out of that this one!! It’s okay!! Just.. don’t stop holding me quite yet! Okay?! This one really affected them both didn’t it!!!
I really hope someone nabbed Gretz and Rackam! oh and considering they both jumped out of a moving car into the dirt wearing white? Lee and Amanda are looking very put together and clean! 😉 that headpiece of Amanda’s must be the ‘able to survive a nuclear shockwave’ model or something. I can’t believe she is even still actually wearing it once her hands were untied! 😉 haaaa… It could have been funny to have her hair sticking up all over the place, and the headpiece crooked.. but… I guess they were going for romance! Fair enough! 🙂 can’t complain about that!!

Lee and Amanda in this embrace at the end here is just too swoony! They both look gorgeous.. it’s such an epic picture – the action hero and his lady.. all ends well..

Yeah, I truly don’t know what to make of the Amanda silence at the end of this episode. Not one ramble! It never occurred to me that she might start to lack faith in Lee or that she might truly be scared this time around, but after reading all the posts, I think that makes a ton of sense! Plus at the end there, the way Lee changes hands and really pulls Amanda into him and looks at her with such respect and admiration….aldkfjaldskjfaldjf! I like that part almost as much as the kisses.

First off, my daughters commented that in the picture of Leaping Lee, he looks like a bird. Hahaha!!
I think that Amanda’s faith and trust in Lee is put to the test in this episode. Let’s recap:
– Lee didn’t trust Amanda to come with him if Amanda knew they ‘might’ get married
– Lee didn’t feel she had a ‘need to know’ about anything regarding the case until Amanda confronts him
– Lee admits that he doesn’t have the information; who is doing this? what are they looking for? where is Orlando?
– Lee doesn’t want her help, he is trying to keep her safe or out of the way by Amanda being ‘just part of his cover’
– Lee acknowledges aloud to Amanda in the bar that she gets herself in trouble
– Amanda wants to be treated as ‘part of the team’ and Lee grudgingly allows her
– Lee listens to Amanda’s karat/carat explanation and then acts on it even sending Amanda to find Emelio while he checks the engine room for the pipes
– Amanda gets captured and then is surprised when Lee is captured as well
– Amanda’s forlorn expression in the rental car expresses that she is doubting that even the best agent Lee can get out of this one: no one knows what they found, no back up, and what will the Agency tell her family
– She has really resigned herself to not getting out of this dilemma. Being that they are equally numbered, there are four “baddies” and four good guys (one being herself; an untrained civilian), the good guys are all tied up and the baddies all have guns,
– Amanda is scared but doesn’t even bother voicing it. She can’t even look at Lee in the car.
So IMO the little head toss and smile at the end is asking Lee, “Forgive me for doubting you.” Love it!!

I didn’t get the vibe that Lee was grudgingly accepting Amanda as part of the team..I feel they’ve moved beyond that ( but that could just be me seeing what I want to see 😉 ) even if Lee did let slip that it was her job to…(not check out the casino) – I saw it as a slip up – not sure why.. maybe I just felt the comraderie between them both on this mission. (and my thinking that Lee chose to bring Amanda would add to that vibe too) – they felt like a team to me throughout – but at the same time – I think you make a good point about Amanda’s faith in Lee faltering.. What do you think? Anyone?

Originally he had it in his left and then when Amanda ran to his side he changed it to his right so he could put his arm around her. That is one of the reasons I like this scene!

Brilliant recap as usual! Better not let the bad guys get a hold of the indestructible material of Amanda’s wedding dress. I’m sure it can withstand bullets as well as stains. LOL! And Lee’s super rose – nary a scratch or petal out of place. Must be that wonderful San Angelo air!
Thank goodness the powers that be didn’t go the Remington Steele route. If I remember correctly, Remington had to get married to stay in the country and Laura was very disheveled, in regular clothes and covered in mud. Again, if memory serves, he was looking quite dapper and they were on a fishing boat. I was less than impressed. Thankfully I can’t find a picture.

Yeah Lee’s rose is very stubbornly staying put! I thought those things fell out all the time.. but his looks perfect – why am I not surprised! 😉 Hey! wait a minute!! it’s a rose!!! I thought in We’re off to see the wizard, we learn he can’t stand the sight or smell (?) of roses since the death of Dorothy??? and it is only thanks to Amanda that he can do roses again?????!!!! Oh dear.. continuity kaput..
Oh noooo I can’t believe RS did that to poor Laura! I think that was one reason I preferred SMK at the time.. I always felt Laura got the raw deal.. ugh! but.. you know I would love to redisover that show now as an adult – I for one will be hoping you and Melissa collaborate and get an RS blog up and running one day! 😉 ( just don’t forget little old Iwsod ok? 😉 ) but seriously.. I would love to follow on with a blog and discover the show again one day – I barely remember it.. other than my frustration with Laura needing to have a man represent her and all that rubbish.. I shared her frustrations!! argh! 😉
Hi Jeanine! I think you can count on one hand the number of times Lee isnt’ ‘pristine’ 😉 good word that!! I like it! Ohhh Yeah I think the gun in the right hand is because well – for all their ‘poses’ Lee is on the right, and Amanda is on the left! it’s very rare they are the other way around 🙂

Yeah Melissa, It is a bit weird.. when Amanda is so brave other times – I hear ya! I put it down to this being a unique situation.. far away from DC, and agency back up… emotions high with the wedding.. and Amanda’s reaction in the cabin when she realises no one is coming to help convinced me that was the explanation.. so .. I went with that 😉 but I know what you mean! 🙂
