Happy SMKy 2025!!

Hi Everyone, just wanted to say hello, confirm I’m still around lol and provide a quick update. I don’t know where 2024 went! I hope you are all doing well..

Where does the blog currently stand? It’s here, it’s not going anywhere.. and if that ever changes – I’ll let you know. I promise!!

I still intend to recommence walk 2, but realistically I can’t see this happening with any consistency for a few years – I’m adding studies on top of full time work this year and next, all while continuing to juggle a hand injury – so while SMK and the online community continues to be special to me, I have to prioritise real life obligations that pay the bills.

I started the first walk on this blog in November 2011 and finished it 12 years later – what does that tell you? I will do it, but can’t commit to a time frame and: There is no rush!  🙂  If you wish to be updated when I post, to join along with walk 2, please make sure you are subscribed to the blog.

While I am in the land of the living and the blog exists, I will pop my head up from time to time to say hi and I’ll do my best to keep the blog running smoothly… and I genuinely look forward to returning here to soak up loads of smk goodness when real life permits.

    I feel I need to write and say a huge thank you to you and your fabulous work here.
    I used to watch SMK in the nineties together with my mum and sister and had completely forgotten about it, until this summer, when for some reason I remembered the sweet slow romance between the two characters. And well, then I did some research and found the episodes on dailymotion (in German again as I did as a teenager because that’s my country of origin). I was so hooked by the show that I wanted to know more and that’s where I came across your wonderful blog and thought it would be even better to watch them in English! In the meantime, I got my sister hooked as well, and finally I realized that the English original wasn’t that far away on dailymotion, too 😉
    Since then my sister and I share our viewing experience and ideas on the character development via chat – in English, although it’s not our native language! It’s good practice and I’m learning lots of new words and expressions, so I justify my slip down that rabbit hole by the benefit of language exercise and linguistic studies! 😉
    We’re also particularly fond of the fellow SMK fans who used to comment on the scenes. Some aspects are hilariously funny.
    So, thank you very much again for all the effort you’ve put into it, which created so much joy for me, my sister and all the readers, I suppose.

  2. Hi ~ this is my first comment on this blog but I just wanted to tell you how glad I am that I found it!! I discovered SMK about 1.5-2 years ago and I absolutely fell in love with it. I started writing fanfiction for SMK and that led me here. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve referred back to here since I found you. It’s been so nice being able to come here to see pictures and quotes from the show (especially when I’m working on my 5 More Minutes series where I extend my favorite scenes!)
    Looking forward to being here for walk 2 whenever it starts!

So glad you found us!!!! yep we are still here.. the walk through for a second time is on a pause, but I do hope to pick it up again in the future RL permitting.. in the meantime, it’s great to dig deep into all the goodies everyone has shared here over the last decade or so – wooo hooo!!!
      feel free to share a link to a video that’s relevant for a particular post if you like, just be sure to only share the one or you’ll get bumped into moderation again.but if not no worries I keep an eye on things and will approve as soon as I can.

      I’ve always thought someone creating a blog about smk fan fiction would be amazing, it’s not for me, but I know soooo many smk fans have really connected with their fellow fan’s work..

      if you don’t mind me asking – you discovered smk 1.5- 2 years ago? What’s the story behind that?! do tell!!!!

      1. I discovered it by scrolling through Tubi one night and it looked like a show right up my alley (I love 50’s-80’s TV) so I watched an episode and was hooked! ☺️ I’ve watched the series through 3 times since I found it!

        I’m sure if I had been around when it originally aired I would’ve been the biggest fan. I feel like the baby of SMK fans since I’m only 24!

      1. Glad to hear that you enjoyed 5 More Minutes (I also have a series I’m currently working on, Beyond 5 Minutes, that is a continuation of that series! Plus a few other stand alone fics that are pretty popular 😉)

  3. Hey, here’s a fun story to hopefully lighten your spirits.

    I was browsing a Season 1 blog entry where you said “Moo” about Francine when she was being a cow <again>. And then I looked up and saw my aunt had the T.V. on and there was an ad for a non-dairy cream cheese. And the caption was “Skip the cow.” I cracked up!

  4. Hi. I found SMK last year and I watched all the episodes over a couple of months. I feel in love with the show. Too bad I didn’t watch it when I was a teenager. I am going to give my thoughts here and there this year.

  6. Happy New Year everyone! I hope it’s filled with joy and laughter. I hope your hand heals soon and that your studies are inspiring Iswod. SMK is such an amazingly cozy and warm place to visit with this delightful community. We can wait while continuing to peek into Amanda and Lee’s world now and then.

    We totally understand real life getting in the way, so don’t worry. In the meantime, hope you can just find some time to relax and enjoy SMK eps for pleasure without having to note details for the walk. And maybe you can finally get to those fanfics you keep putting off reading!

  10. Hello, I perfectly understand. Yes, real life comes into play. Most importantly, take care of you first. As you said, the blog will continue and is not going anywhere. With that said, I do love this blog, and although I joined late, I look forward to chatting about SMK. In the meantime, you continue to do you, and once you’re ready, I will be waiting.
