At the bowling Alley, Lee picks up the phone behind his booth as he was instructed..
Oh and who calls Lee? Betty Grable! Ha!.. Oh no wait it’s Francine!.. it is only ever Francine who calls people at the agency..have you noticed that?!
(didn’t Amanda wear that hairstyle in the first few episodes? Francine wearing the hair-do of an average housewife?!!) See what I did? Again! Shameless!! I managed to not only fit in a pic of Lee in a tux, but of Lee and Amanda dancing! awhhhhh!!! 
this could be the start of a new game – six degrees of Lee’s tux!
Francine : We’re under condition possum Scarecrow. Are you armed?
Lee: I’m always armed! [whooooo!!! Doesn’t Lee look swoony here?! ]
Francine: Are you carrying any classified documents?
Lee: No. I wanna come home.
Francine: be at this phone in one hour.
Lee: an hour?
Francine just hangs up on him- ha! Love how Lee just looks at the phone like he is glaring at Francine down the line!
Lee makes his way back to Amanda.. resigned to be waiting another hour.. he figures he may as well have some fun with Amanda while he waits..
Lee to Amanda: Okay, what else. Do I get to throw again or-
[throw? LOL! 🙂 oh and.. Lee was happy to play on? whoo hoo! too cute!]
Amanda has to stop him short here.. drat! Amanda! couldn’t you have let him bend err I mean bowl again???!!! just one more time?? 
Amanda cuts him off : Lee.. ( he isn’t listening she grabs his hand) Lee!..
that man was at the agency this morning.
Lee: what?
Amanda: you see that man with the beard? In the game room up there. You see him? He was at the agency this morning.
He asked me about an address in Georgetown. But 
I think it’s pretty funny that he was there then and he’s here now.
Lee: that’s a hell of a lot more than a coincidence 
Amanda. You know who that is? [
Of course she doesn’t!!! but!! I bet that Lee does!! haaaa Lee just knows everybody!! ] Amanda shakes her head Lee continues: …that’s Yuri Valov, a top soviet agent. ( The script spells his name ‘ Valov’, Subtitles spell his name ‘Valoff’ I’ll go with the script!)
Amanda: what do we do?
Lee: Let’s lead him out of here. Come on..
Cue the action music!!! Lee and Amanda leave quickly.. heading out the door to the parking lot – err Lee! Amanda! don’t forget to take off your ugly bowling shoes! Nope.. they head straight for the door..
We see Yuri follow them out, and..
ta daaaa! we see that someone is following the follower! [ I wonder if Lee knows him?! ]
Outside, Lee and Amanda rush to Amanda’s car – Lee’s turn to drive!! Whooo Magic Bowling shoes!! both Lee and Amanda suddenly have on their normal shoes haa!! I do love the little nod to reality though when, as rushing to Amanda’s car she quickly says: I left my bowling ball in there!
Lee: I know!! I know!!! [ Cute! and.. some interesting dialogue as we watch them rush for the car! but it is funny that while they acknowledge here the reality of Amanda leaving her bowling ball- they are wearing magic bowling shoes!]
Lee drives off at great speed, Yuri follows him.
Aha! There it is!! I knew it was in this parking lot but couldn’t remember when – the apple blooper! haaa.. [ Thanks again to Aiden for pointing this out]
As we see Yuri reverse his car to pursue Lee and Amanda – you can see one of the crew has left their morning tea, an apple, on the hood of one of the parked cars! Random!
Anyway, Lee tries a few manoeuvres to loose him.. but.. Yuri is determined.. and he stays close.. Lee suddenly decides to change tactics: stop .. and see what he wants.. (I guess he figured he wasn’t going to shake him) – he does a quick turn blocking the road, stopping Yuri’s car also.. Time for guns at dawn!! don’t you love intense Lee here with his gun?!
Whooo nice close up!! 
Looks like this was where the commercial break was..[Smart! I’d come back for more of this swoony Lee! ;)] What will happen next? what does Yuri want? Will they be safe?? argh!!!
Love how Yuri’s car stops right where the word ‘slow’ is painted on the road! Lee tells Yuri to stand up and put the gun away.. Yuri agrees, on condition Lee talks with him.. and a temporary truce is agreed to..
Both men walk around their cars, Lee walking around to Amanda..
Lee: Amanda are you alright? (Awh! Lee can’t see her…)
Amanda muffled because she is still crouched down in the car: Yes.
Lee: Amanda? ( he opens her door and finds her tucked down low)
Amanda: just down here, out of the way.
Yuri sees Amanda is afraid and is a little surprised.. I guess he senses here that maybe Amanda isn’t an agent..
Lee sees this realisation of Yuri’s and offers Amanda 
his hand to help her out of the car, but he is looking straight at Yuri when he says to Amanda: Come on. [Almost like a warning: she’s getting out of the car- behave yourself! ]
I get a very protective vibe from Lee here don’t you?? he kind of looks at Yuri after Amanda pops up out of danger.. as if to say to him- look what you did you frightened her!
It looks like Lee is reproaching Yuri for bringing Amanda into this! 
Yuri: I apologise for frightening you for the second time today. [Amanda quietly smiles as if to accept his 
apology] But it was imperative that I speak to Lee.
Lee: Imperative? What, for you or for me?
Yuri: for the people of your country and mine. For the world.
Lee smiles and says to Amanda: Yuri usually has the right words and moves. He had them in Angola, 
Central America and even in the silicon valley.
[there goes Lee with his bravado again.. Just letting Yuri know he knows all about him.. ]
Yuri: we can speak about the good old days some other time. There is not much of that to spare right now. So will you listen? [I can understand why Yuri would ask this.. Lee seems to want to just goad Yuri! Yuri is lucky Amanda was there, so Lee keeps his head! I think she has that affect on him.. do you?]
I’m short on time, so I’m relying on the dialogue in this episode a lot.. hope you don’t mind.. It’s easier at this busy time of year – and well I transcribed this ep for Operation Possum, so it’s very easy! I am very happily surprised at the little swoony moment or two here! Love to hear from you when you have a chance.. hope your christmas or other holiday are going well! byeeee!!

Unless they move to an English speaking country and have their own preference for writing, there isn’t really a set way to spell Russian and Soviet names because they’re transliterated from the Cyrillic alphabet. It depends on the time period and who is doing the translating. F and V are used interchangeably for “ov” endings although the V seems more common today.
I go with International Gymnast’s versions usually because that’s what I read the most. (And they confirmed in an editorial there isn’t one set way — just be consistent in whatever you use) Hence why I refer to the ACM Kid and the character on the S4 premiere (this isn’t a spoiler because I’m only talking about his name, right?) as Alexei even though the scripts refer to both as Alexi.
So unless Yuri Valov shows up and expresses offense, I think you’re safe.

I was just watching this episode again this morning and wanted to point out some fun tidbits that I noticed… 🙂 I’m quite familiar with both DC and LA, and so it’s fun to see how many LA moments pop up in SMK! This section of Playing Possum is one of those. As they were driving away from the bowling alley, all of the “strip mall” areas they drive through are TOTALLY LA and not DC. AND…pay special attention to the palm trees in the background. haha! Yep, you’re right…absolutely zero palm trees in DC! Just thought I’d mention some of those filming details.

This works for the blasted windows 8 which I usually hate, btw. I am not sure if it is the same for other versions. You can also right mouse click and do a ‘save as’ then right mouse click at set as background.

I operate on a “need to know” basis re my husband and my SMK extracurricular activities. Generally he doesn’t need to know. I don’t feel too bad as he also looks great in plaid.

Yes, and pink and red???? Why is it always pink and red together? My mother was a one woman fashion patrol when I was growing up and she would never let me walk out with that combo. (Of course if she saw me now she’d be rolling over about now. Whoops….) Dotty, why don’t you look at your daughter’s clothes and give her some much needed advice. I hear What not to Wear is calling Amanda. Just saying……

Glad to see you screencapped one of my very favorite pictures of Lee with him holding the gun looking over the hood of the car. I’ll definitely be hanging around through that commercial break!
I haven’t caught up with all your posts yet (I must have misunderstood when you said you would be slowing down a little around Christmas 😉 , not complaining though!) but the bowling scene and especially this ‘Lee confronts Yuri’ scene are both showing the kinder, gentler Lee that you’ve so patiently waited for. I enjoy this whole episode, and a big reason is the obvious friendship and admiration Lee has for Amanda throughout.

haaaa! yes I was thinking the same thing myself Raffie! I made a liar out of myself! slowing down?! haaaaa! maybe just a little!
Well, I did have a day where I just posted merry christmas.. and I think I had a day or two off.. so for me that was a break! 🙂 That said, I’ll be housesitting and on holiday the first two weeks of January – so no idea how many posts I will get done then.. we’ll see but I would assume I won’t be posting as often! I am making the most of being on a break from studies – once they pick up again in February I will need to force myself to err walk at a slower pace 😉
But I love hearing from you guys! yeah the friendship between Lee and Amanda is front and centre isn’t it! It’s such a lovely change.. err you are very kind Raffie – I don’t know how err ‘patiently’ I waited for it! 🙂 It definitely has the vibe of being post Brunettes doesn’t it?!!

Hello and indeed Christmas is a busy time of the year etc. I do not pop in enough to comment. I do enjoy your doing these episodes and your comments about Lee and Amanada very much. You notice so much that (once the dvd is either replaced or fixed) will need to do a SMK marathon which will be a pleasure for me. I will try to pay more attention i.e. shoes to running shoes etc. Most of all thank you for all you put into, I do smile when I see a message in my inbox for Justwalkwithme.
