1/3 Scarecrow and Mrs King Sceneframing

Hi Everyone! Get ready for a new way to have fun with SMK!!
A dedicated SMK fan who has chosen to remain mysterious (lol Smile ) emailed me some months ago to introduce me to this new concept.. and I immediately loved it!

Welcome to the concept of sceneframing!!
Take with you an ipad or iphone.. find the location, frame the SMK scene and take a photo of it!!! I think you could even do this with a photo if you don’t have a phone or ipad.. however you do it – SMK is ‘Suitable for Framing’! Smile 

Let’s call the mystery guest contributor……Agent Framer! Smile
Agent Framer has shared with me scene frames from Times they are a Changin, Our man in Tegernsee and The Legend of Das Geisterschloss – for me to publish on JWWM and share with everyone.  Maybe we can  convince Agent Framer to say hello!!! There is no obligation Agent Framer, but do jump in if you like Smile We salute you!!!

Anyone else want to do some SMK inspired travel and have some fun with SMK scene frames??!!! I really want to have a go!! Smile  If you’d like to see a little more about sceneframing in general try this website by fangirlquest.. I think this was Agent Framer’s inspiration.. maybe Agent Framer will inspire you? Smile Maybe this is something many of us can have a go with when we stop by smk locations Smile  Whooo hooo!!

  1. This is such a cool idea! I’ve been to DC three times in my lifetime and don’t know when I’ll get back, but if I ever do I’m going to try this. It is so excellently done!

      Please share if you have a go! I guess the good thing about sceneframing is – only our thumbs need to be in the picture lol.. so we can maintain some privacy and still share 🙂

  2. What a neat idea! And waaay more patience than I would have, to hunt up all those locations and match up the shots. It really makes the characters come to life, looking as though they were walking down the street in front of you. Thank you, Agent Framer!

    1. Agent Framer may want to keep her origins private jule.. but I’m not assuming she’s from Germany – she could have visited the area on a holiday..
      I’m totally kicking myself! I’ve travelled widely, and visited a number of locations smk visited.. but at the time I had not reconnected with smk (like when I was in DC or London) or it was pouring rain when I was there (when I was in Salzburg) lol.. it wasn’t meant to be..boo!

      Then I am tickled pink to realise – this is an excellent excuse to revisit these wonderful destinations again!! 🙂

  5. Excellent work Agent Framer!
    L&A never came to NZ but I suppose those of us in on-SMK places who are tech savvy enough could super-impose cut-outs of L&A into our scenery. KC, I am sure you could insert L&A into NZ. 🙂
    (I lack the necessary smarts for this sort of thing, not to mention a serious lack of spare time.)

  8. I think it’s really interesting how you can see how the sites have changed around the edges of the tablet. In the Hofgarten pictures, it looks like the walls were painted a different color in the 80s. It’s kind of like a look back in time. 🙂

  9. Thanks everyone! I’m glad you like them. I really had a lot of fun doing it, and I can’t thank iwsod enough for the use of all the images and for posting the sceneframes! 🙂 I’d been wanting to travel to Munich and Salzburg since I first saw these episodes, and capturing these moments just added to the experience for me. I can’t wait to see any that others do, and I hope you enjoy doing them as much as I did!

  10. What a great idea, Agent Framer! Can anyone say road trip to DC? I’m too far from California to go there.

    I’d also like to add that I’m very impressed with your ability to get a nice picture while holding the tablet still with one hand and taking a picture with the other! And did you notice anyone staring at you wondering what you were doing while you were doing it? I think these are fabulous! Thank you for sharing such a fun idea!

    I can imagine this would be fun to do in London as well. Which makes me think – I didn’t realise how similar the Underground signs were (Munich and London)

  12. I’d like Agent Framer to tell us if their movements around these cites actually make any sense, because their routes through Washington were often so weird it suggests they were always trying to shake a tail. 🙂

    1. I think for “The Times They Are a Changin'” they did for the most part, mainly because they seemed to be intentionally jumping around to meet in tourist areas. I do think, though, that maybe Lee chose the scenic route instead of the most direct route from St. Emmeramsmuhle to the Glockenspiel in order to go through the Victory Gate on the motorbike. 🙂

  13. This is really cool. Excellent work, agent Framer.
    I am impressed that locations haven’t changed much in the 30 plus years since the episodes.
    I won’t be able to add any sceneframing as I don’t live in any of the relevant countries (although I did visit London some years ago).

      2. Hey Sara! As you’ll see from the second sceneframing post – these don’t have to be outdoors..
        though IMHO I think they work best when they are wide shots – and vast interiors.. have you clicked on the link to Agent Farmer’s inspiration? You’ll see on that site loads of really interesting scene frames that are interiors.. really clever!!

        What places do you think could work?
        Oh oops. sorry have you posted on neds about it?
        me confused.. sorry I’m too busy and a bit behind the game here ha!

        1. Hey Iwsod… No, I just had a random silly idea. I’m not from Europe, and I live about 700 miles from DC. I am headed to the DC metro area for Christmas to see family, but not sure I’ll make it to the downtown area on this trip. I randomly thought of the Ship of Spies grocery store/milk scene with Lee hidden behind some gallons of milk–might not be tough to find. I’ve seen other places that are so close it’s worth sharing, but not ‘authentic.’ To give proper credit to our very talented, Agent Framer, I wouldn’t want to post that here. It’s just “Ned’s stuff”.

      I’m still hoping I’ll find the Hollywood sign in a shot one day! 🙂

      I say we all meet up in DC for a weekend and scene frame like crazy! [Just give me a couple of years to save up the $$!]

      2. Wouldn’t that be fun! A JWWM reunion! I can imagine trying to explain that to RL family and friends. “I’m going to DC with these ladies I met in an online forum, and we’re going to take pictures of pictures from TV shows”.
