Meanwhile.. whoooo Lee is going casual! jacket off, sleeves rolled up.. go Lee! He and Amanda wander into a puppet show.. Lee’s helping Amanda go through everything she did with Emily during her visit to Washington.
Lee: what else did you see with Emily?
Amanda: huhh!!! the whitehouse!
Lee: ugh. Everybody sees the white house Amanda, I don’t think there’s any connection there.
Amanda: The Washington Monument.
Lee: You’ve tour bused us right through the capital! ( Lee’s patience is starting to wear thin!)
Amanda: We had lunch at LaFayette park. Ah tuna fish and carrot sticks.
Lee: Ugh nahhhh..
Amanda: well then I’ve got it! Watergate! I went down to show her the Watergate.
Lee: we solved that one!( ROFL!! I love this line!! and it happens so fast.. I don’t think I heard it the first few times I saw this episode.. yes I was probably too busy drooling over casual Lee
).
Hey! I just noticed something for the first time now! As Lee tells Amanda he doesn’t think there’s any connection – for the first time, we see the Austrian guy following them, as he pass them in the background.
cool continuity!
Amanda: right..
Lee: It’s ok. Just give me a minute to think huh. [and Lee gives Amanda a little pat on the arm. awwh!! ]
Aha! we see the Austrian guy watching them from a distance!
Uh oh.. we see he is packing heat! ( a gun! eek!! ok.. so should I pretend like I don’t know if he is good or bad? I’m assuming my readers have seen the episodes: whooo we are suppose to be assuming this is the baddie checking to see if Amanda is an agent.. but.. we know better )Lee wanders off for a moment to get his head together, leaving disappointed Amanda to watch
the puppet show – she really wants to help him! Amanda meets a local know it all.. [Who is also wearing a dotted cravat – smk code for=Baddie!!!
blond moustache guy had one too!
] Well, at least he does help Amanda work out the Emily connection.
Love how Amanda grabs Lee and pulls him away from the crowd taking him by surprise! [Lee is all: Amanda what are you doing grabbing me? yes, usually Lee is the one to be initiating! ]
Amanda: I think I’ve figured out what Mrs Farnsworth was trying to tell me,
tell you,
tell you through me!
[That there looks like a bruise to me!]
Lee: It scares me to admit it,
….but I think I followed that!
Lee is learning Amanda. I love it! Lee thinks they’re on to something with Amanda remembering Emily’s sketches..
Love Lee’s : I remember the tour. I remember the tour!!!!
Lee wants to go look in Emily’s hotel. Amanda immediately recoils at the idea, but Lee is use to dealing with Amanda now.. awhhh..
Lee: It’s alright, you’re her niece.
He flicks under her chin in a playful way, smiles and pushes her along! hehehee.. she still isn’t sure, but she’s going with him!
This is a cute little exchange.. I figure Lee is excited at the breakthrough thanks to Amanda.. I think he’s especially nice to Amanda when they have a lead on the case – at this stage at least! Thank goodness he grows out of that.. and learns to be nice and happy with Amanda regardless
Well I shall leave it there for now, short and sweet today..but hopefully there is enough of interest in here to satisfy! Thanks so much for reading! I would love to hear your thoughts! byeeee and back with more soon.
I think the Austrian agent sticks out like a sore thumb. Surely no one still wears traditional costumes unless they are catering to the tourists. What, no lederhosen?
Re the bruise … maybe Boxleitner was doing some of his cowboy stuff and got thumped by a steer or something.

Casual Lee. Me like. A lot. 😀
Love how Amanda spins him around and then he flicks her under the chin woo hoo. As everyone says playful Lee is cute!!!
Don’t understand Amanda’s reluctance to search Emily’s room. It’s not like they are spying they are trying to save her life!
Hmmm Colonel Metzger could you have been more inconspicuous?!! Nice hat 🙂

too busy drooling over ‘casual’ Lee to post any coherent thought.

Cindy you managed to use the word ‘ coherent’ – that’s pretty lucid to me! 😉 If you’re this bad now.. wait for the wet shirt moment! 🙂
[Lovely to hear from you!! I was wondering where you were! 🙂 ]

Mmmmmm, Lee, casual, playful, having fun with Amanda. Do you think he’s been drugged or abducted by aliens and replaced with pod-Lee?!?Awwwww, who cares, he’s adorable and so is she! One of my all time favorite scenes!

I really like the scene where he flicks her under the chin. It’s such a subtle way of letting her know that he likes her and he’s cheering her on. Playful, too. I like playful Lee. It makes him more human. lol

I agree with you both–the chin-flick is delightful. I think that this is the only European episode that has no Agency folks or contact with them or other officials (like Scotland Yard officials), and this might account for its loose, casual feel. (We do have Col. Metzger and Emily, but neither one of them is very authoritative). There’s certainly a nice, give-and-take dynamic between Lee and Amanda in this episode, and Lee treats her as an almost equal partner. The pictures you’ve already included, IWSOD, make me realize that Lee gets more and more casual in his clothing; he begins the episode in a suit and tie, then removes the suit jacket, followed by the tie, followed by the shirt and shoes! It makes one wonder what would have happened if he and Amanda had dashed off to Vienna, as Dr. Hanover suggests.

One of my favourite lines, *it scares me to admit it, but I think I followed that.* Although I do not get the idea about the sketches at all. Why do those agents never report what they are up to? If she can tell a waitress, what she is up to, why has she not called her boss? Werid.

That line made us laugh too…I think she drew the sketches and hid the letters in there as clues in case she got caught to tell them where to go to find the baddies.

I’m thinking a safeguard for backup. She knows she’s going to be in danger, so she wants some kind of record just to be on the safe side.
