Okay everyone! Grab your swoon helmets, your drool buckets and your smelling salts! How do we know he is the one?
Well.. maybe this is really how Amanda knows Lee is the one 
but.. we can extrapolate!!! Here goes:
1)He brings you milk and cookies when you are feeling confused and have amnesia! 
2)He commits treason to rescue you [and throws in a cuddle while he’s at it ]
3) Suggested by Jestress: He dresses up in ancient threads looking ridiculous to surprise you. 
…He offers to come with you to your College reunion! and personally brings you your missing pay cheque
4)He brings you a souvenir of the case! [He wants to celebrate with you!]
5)He leaves a panda on your doorstep…
Because you said: “You know, it looks like you’re sort of, uh, you’re spoiling the kid rotten, maybe you’re trying to, um, to buy his affections. You know, you could definitely buy mine with this guy, this guy is gorgeous.” 
6)He pays attention when you make an off the cuff mention of Pretzel the clown not showing up… 
… and he threatens Pretzel the clown with an Audit all the way back to 67 if he doesn’t show up for Jamie’s birthday party!
7) He says ‘Please’ when he asks for something!
8) When he sees you he says ‘Hello’ 
9) He never lets you go hungry (and provides candlelight )
10) when you’re unconscious he carries you!
11)He brings you champagne!
[The good stuff!!!! This one looks like Dom Pérignon.. not that cheap stuff that you can’t leave the price tag on! ]
12) When you’re accused of murder, he finds you the best attorney!

For some reason the carry does it for me. But maybe it’s because I am rather partial to the 3 piece chauffeur suit. It’s the waistcoat…..gets me every time.
Also quite a fan of numbers 7 and 8…..nice manners are always a winner 😉
If memory serves Lee was also a dab hand at chasing down dust bunnies. It’s nice to see a man who is domesticated is it not? 🙂

Of this list, my favorite is the last one – when you’re accused of murder he finds you a hell of a good attorney! At this point Amanda had turned in her badge, excuse me visitor’s pass, and quit the Agency. Then she was accused of murder and put in jail. Lee not only knows her well enough to know that she was incapable of murdering Byron Jordan (BJo – haha), but he’s willing to spend his little free time on getting her out of jail, getting her a really good attorney (he’s thinking of the future here) and coming to her house to check on her. He cares to do all these things even though they’re no longer working together and he owes her nothing! Awwww!!! Swoon thud.

I would personally like to combine the cuddle and carry. I would pass out from the cuddle and then he would have to carry me. In all seriousness, I do like how he got Pretzel the Clown to show up for Jamie. That had to mean a lot to Amanda.
Here’s another way to know he’s the one. After his old car meets a fiery death he shows up unexpectedly with his new car hoping to take you for a ride.

I agree the Pretzel the clown gesture was a real win. No wonder Amanda could see there was a real human being underneath all that arrogance and bluster.. Poor Lee let his true colours shine 😉
rofl.. I would say this is a sign he loves his car! 🙂 but yeah okay.. it’s a sign he likes you too 🙂

Kiwismh has a favourite pic above but will force herself to concentrate on the question at hand. For me, even though it was way back, getting Pretzel the Clown to Jamie’s birthday party was a big one. He may not have been aware of it at the time but it showed a level of caring and thoughtfulness not just for Amanda but for her sons too.
P.S. I spent some long, long moments drooling over Times they are a Changing European Lee. I just have to keep imagining he kept that haircut right up to and beyond where we are in the walk. He looks so much more handsome (and younger even) with the shorter styled hair.

I agree with you, kiwismh, about the Pretzel the Clown. It’s easy to give gifts and be kind to the woman you are keen on or love. But to show caring of her family…that’s a vital step forward to embracing the whole of her, and loving the more complicating and often less lovable extensions of her (yes, those boys are often less than endearing!)
I’m also keen on the milk and cookies/amnesia. A man who brings baked goods will always get my vote 😉 The way to a (wo)man’s heart is through the stomach 🙂

I decided to marry my husband on our third date when we spent the day at his house and he made me endless cups of tea all day. So yeah, milk and cookies essentially bought my affection already.

All good signs -i love them all although i have a big weakness for ‘ i carried you’ probably the treason to save her life is the best sign of a keeper but remember ing shevloved the panda and wanted pretzel to make her son’s birthday are pretty good signs that he was pretty much into her as well.
