We head back into the interrogation of Whatsit..[Or as 
Emily’s Tatiana calls him ‘Vitsit!!’ 
] it seems Whatsit’s standard operating procedure is to prey on vulnerable women and make them be his mules- Makes me wonder what he did with 
them when they had served his purpose. They knew what he was doing and who he was dealing with – I suspect he must have killed them (or gotten the goons to) – Give him Hell Tatiana!!! Make him suffer!!!! [what a shame we don’t get a ‘You were going to use Amanda as a go-between and then kill her??!!! snarl!!!!’ – kind of moment from Lee ]
Vitsit/Whitset/Whatsit: … I’ve set everything in motion! Just let me do this job just like I’ve done all my other jobs, in Paris, Amsterdam.…You see, I’m gonna use an innocent as the intermediary, a woman. Now, she’s going to be the mule between me and the men who have the film.
This is quite a nasty thing to do to an innocent woman who is a housewife from Arlington with two small boys! I imagine he had some nasty ways to make her play the role of Mule – [I am sure charm alone won’t get that from someone – this isn’t Lee we are talking about ] Whatsit must know what kind of people these guys are- it is disgusting that he picked Amanda to liaise with them on his behalf!! Hope he has a reeeeeaaaallly bad hang over!!
Emily leaves Whatsit to stew.. he gets up to leave with her but she tells him to stay in his chair ‘Is that clear!!!’ 
I love how she growls that! a guard (an agent we saw earlier) enters to watch Whatsit, he is wearing a USSR uniform.. Whatsit is left looking rather afraid- excellent! 
So Emily comes out for a spot of tea… Amanda calls out her name in surprise at how she looks.
Ugh.. this irritates me! (nevermind I’ll get over it ) and they have a chat about the theatre, enjoying a little girl talk..
Emily puts on a posh accent to say to Amanda: Did I ever tell you that I studied acting at the Academy of Dramatic Art?
Love how Lee acts exasperated when Emily tells the story of being in the theatre – I think Lee may have already heard that story a few times- and he knows what’s coming Actually, it’s kind of reassuring to see he gets exasperated with Emily – whom he values, respects and admires so much! It is probably not a bad thing if he gets exasperated by Amanda also !
Amanda’s impressed by Emily’s theatrical history (why no mention of your own Amanda?? we learn 
you were in productions in All the World’s a Stage! – I think that little part of her history was a later edition!)
Lee interrupts Emily’s stories.. with (whoo hoo!) Manners!!!!!! Gooo Lee!
Lee: Pardon, ladies, uh, for the intermission, but, uh, Billy’d like to know if you’ve got anything.
Emily: Yes, he just told me it’s a mule job, so you better have Francine on standby.
Lee: Done. [Yes Lee call Francine back from the Jungle 😉 ]
Emily: (in Russian accent) Oh, vell, back to Rrrrussia.
I know it is in aid of increasing the suspense of the storyline.. but Whatsit did say he’d ‘already set everything in motion’ – so you wonder why Emily didn’t ask what had already been organised! She shouldn’t assume the Mule hasn’t been chosen yet!
By the way.. It seems while Emily got that last bit of information out of Whatsit-Lee decided to reorganise the things on Amanda’s fridge!

Remind you of Margot Lee? did it??!!! tee heee.. Also, it looks like Amanda can no longer open her fridge thanks to that fake wall there! I hope Amanda gets something for breakfast! [Emily took her tea!]
Do you guys notice when you can hear the door opening and 
closing in the background ( presumably Emily entering the russian embassy) (!) that Amanda says as loud as anything to Lee : She’s quite a woman isn’t she! Errrr.. Whatsit would have heard her American accent.. maybe even recognised her voice.. and Lee doesn’t even pretend to be quiet anymore when at the beginning of the scene he was so cross with the noise she was making! LOL!!! And.. it seems Lee is no longer upset by Margot taking off with an airline pilot, and he has decided to restore the cute little dog to his pride of place! The magic Dog photo!!
Amanda clarifies with Lee that she isn’t needed there and she can get on with doing what she needed to do (Painting Jamie’s room: great. The dining room? out!) Whoo hooo Lee winks at Amanda when he says: Jamie’s room? great!
Amanda prattles on about going to the paint store.. where it is.. rah rah..
So funny how Lee gets exasperated with Amanda here: yes it is pretty pointless that Amanda is telling Lee this information! LOL! But we know it is needed for an upcoming plot twist – SMK could have played this as being normal.. but I like that Lee is a little exasperated because really: he doesn’t need to know that! It’s like SMK is making fun of useless bits of information being shared that have no reason to be shared: other than it will be needed in future aand thus, I don’t think it makes Amanda look dumb! Oh and it’s interesting that while Lee was a bit exasperated at her, future events reveal he was actually still listening to her !!
Oh no!!! when Amanda says she’s going to Wilson’s as they have the best colour selections.. It seems – Lee had another pang! No no.. it was too soon! The Magic dog strikes again!
He wasn’t yet ready to have the cute little dachshund where he could see it- so he’s covered it up again!!! ROFL!!!
Oh too funny! Amanda says: I guess I should go now.
Lee responds: ahhh haaaa yeah!!! As Amanda walks away – ta daaaaa!!! We can see the magic dog yet again! My goodness.. maybe the dog moves by itself
Love how Lee watches Amanda leave and he drops his smile when she can’t see him anymore – LOL!
– and Lee shaking his head, says to himself: Ohhh Amanda. [ in that tone which is too cute.. she’s a bit nutty.. but kinda adorable! at least this is my interpretation! what’s yours??]
Well before the magic dog moves anymore.[I wonder if he appears anywhere else or in any other episodes! We should give him a name! ‘Margot’? maybe?? ] I shall finish up there! I would love to hear any feedback, thoughts, insights, questions etc. Thanks soooo much for reading!!! I am actually enjoying this episode more than I thought I would – and loving Lee in that blue shirt.. hoo haaa.. Almost as good as the tux! Okay bye for now!

I kinda got the impression that Amanda was itching for Lee to ask her to help in someway and he was completely blind to the fact that I don’t think really she wanted to go and start painting. Bad Lee for rolling his eyes.
Not sure RADA would have taught Emily to be such an Overactor 😉

I like Lee’s look as Emily and Amanda start chatting over tea. I also like the idea that he’s heard it before, thus the expression. However, I’ve always attributed the expression to the fact that here they are with work to do, and the girls are gabbing. You know Lee when he’s in agent mode! Personal stuff take a back burner! And we can see this attitude coming through when he interrupts them with the message from Billy. You know, it’s been shown that women multi-task much better than men, and we can see this constantly throughout SMK in the interplay between Amanda, whose mind is always 10 places at once, and Lee who is always so focused on the task at hand.
Later we again see Lee trying to be in agent mode but Amanda rambling him out of it. He handles this much more sweetly than he used to, doesn’t he? I love how the way he listens to her rambles evolves as their relationship develops. And yes, I agree with the previous posts, that it’s very sweet that he actually was paying attention to what she had to say. And the shaking of the head … yes, he’s definitely starting to look upon these rambles with an affectionate feeling!

I think it’s funny though that he has to ask Emily: because if he hadn’t been explaining to Amanda what was going on- then he wouldn’t need to ask her what she’d gotten! In other words, if he’s explained to Amanda while Whatsit was unconscious- he wouldn’t have missed anything 😉

The magic dog photo had me in stitches – this is the kind of thing I never notice. LOL!!! Since I finally have season two I watched this episode so I could follow along – what a nice feeling!!
Oh, I noticed that too, Iwsod, that Lee and Amanda get so loud after Emily goes back inside! What happened to the “being quiet”?
I love what you pointed out about Lee listening to Amanda even when he was annoyed at her rambling – do you think this was due to his sharp agenty brain or because he’s starting to tune in to Amanda more?

Lee says that “Ohhh Amanda” often, and not in an annoying way – more like a person who cares would. It’s just so sweet.
